Gorgeous instrument and even better playing. It sounds and looks like you have 3 chikari strings, which is very cool. Can I ask why the 5 jawari strings? You seem to be dampening some to play chord-like patterns. Anyway, this is genius stuff here Sir.
Dear Mark, thanks so much for your v kind comments. Only 2 chik. strings. But indeed 5 javari, I came up with this deaign to be able to experiment with widening the harmonic impmocations that were possible with javari strings, this can be heard approx between 2m 48 - 2m 57s. Thanks so much for listening brother. - Zayn
hi, on a standard sarode scale length, tuning in B has more mellow warmth and a somewhat deeper sound, naturally as it's lower. But B sacrifices some of the brightness and the complex overtones that tuning in C offers.
Thanks so much for listening danyjr. Ah well therein lies the crux of my daily life - I don’t really manage. It had causes various problems. Ideally I keep 1-2mm of extra nail on the 1st and 2nd fingers, enough to fret the sarod, but still short enough to cleanly fret my guitars.Several years of this however, has caused extreme difficulties with my hyponichium. The things we do, for love.
@@Zaynidin I just found your channel and was wondering the same. I am a guitarist and really love the sarod, but don’t want to give up guitar. It’s good to see there’s a balance that’s possible, even if difficult. You play both instruments really well
Hahaha Marc I know right?! Thankfully though they get a guy in to tune those piano strings! Keeps me on my toes, to tune these strings myself, but in doing so tunes me as well! So much gratitude to you brother!
Now that would be a hang! Mevlana Rumi & Bach!!! Somewhere up there/down here/left or right, they ARE jamming. "We rarely hear the inward music, but we're all dancing to it nevertheless" - Rumi
Hi Rajendra, I’m afraid your question doesnt make sense because the additional dha - that is the additional javari string. I hope that solves any confusion. As for the low pa string, it can be heard on this video so you can decide for yourself. Kind regards
Dear Sohan Kumar Maiti, you can check re: prices with Naba Kumar Kanji on his facebook. But roughly same as any professional Sarode from him. Hope that helps. God bless
