A full Rack review of the Zbroia Hortitsia PCP.
The "HORTITSIA" has been made by the ZBROIA® Company since December 2014 in Kharkov, Ukraine. It is a pre-charged pneumatic (PCP) air rifle. It is made in a classic Monte Carlo stock. The main design criteria of this air gun was accuracy, quality, reliability and ergonomics. The air gun is offered in calibers 4,5 and 5,5 mm (.177’ & .22’). Also, there are 3 standard barrels and 2 reservoirs of high pressure: 330 mm / 200 cc, 450 mm / 230 cc and 550 mm / 230 cc. The weight of air gun is - 3,1 and 3,4 kg, the length - 910, 1030 and 1120 mm, accordingly.

Within seconds, you realise that this has to the loudest loading mechanism EVER. Surprised they find the time to make these.( He says tongue in cheek). Good vid as always.

Rack, I've got a mk2 version and my gun has hw100 style magazines. Lovely gun to use and very accurate too.

Hi Rack, I have the mk1,mk2 and mk3 which is this one you did the vid on they are all great rifles all accurate the mk1 and mk2 have the round hw type mags which are easy to load and bolt action not side leaver like mk3 good vid

Know exactly what you mean about loading mags Rack. My main gun is a HW100 bullpup and I have a 3D printed magazine loader for it and half a dozen mags. I love sitting down with a tin of pellets to refill all six prior to getting out in the field, it's really pleasant and going out into the woods with 84 shots ready to go is a good feeling. If this makes us weirdos then so what? Good review mate, I've been sort of looking at one of these since the Mk1 came out, really distinctive and, by all accounts, really good. Luckily I'm not a southpaw 😉

Hi Rack, I have to Kozak mk2 & the Sapsan. Both super accurate, well built, these are not pellet fussy. Mine shoots spitfire at 40 yards, very accurately. Loves the jsb express. I have shot it out to 55 yards no issues. I have fitted a Huma reg and I get 2fps std dev, spread of 5fps. This will live with the big boys. Shot count of around 150 shots off a 275 bar fill. Have you give it a barral clean before testing or shot it straight from the box. If you get chance run some Spitfires through it, you will be surprised. Good review of a under rated manufacturer. These will keep up with rifles 3 times there cost. My rifles are requlated & anti double load as standard. Love watching your reviews. Bought a Reximex Mito after watching one, brilliant carbine, very accurate up to 35 yards.

Loads just like my Baikal side lever springer, interesting. Do the pellets tend to fall out of the mags too?

No, they're held in really well - as long as they're Diabolo shape. If they're slugs - you need pretty long ones or they will fall out or go off centre & fail to load

Who's the UK importer nowadays ? Nearly bought a mk2 a year or so back but was put off by lack of support and didn't want an expensive boat anchor if anything went wrong with it.

How do the pellets stay in the magazines once loaded

There are a series of balls at the top which are held in place by a very soft & hollow rubber strip. These balls push down on the top left & top right of the pellet & hold it in place. Works great for Diabolo pellets/pellets with a skirt, but pushes slugs off center & gives possible loading issues on shorter pellets. Mags will last a lifetime & its a 2sec job to refresh the rubber tube if needed

Correct - it has the identical action to their Biathlon rifle. INSANELY fast follow up shots without losing sight picture or taking your hands away. (I have a biathlon, hortitsia & Kozak FC)
