Thank you for this concise video.For learners @ 3:10 it is really important to you showed where you put the leads in on the top of Megger as you can easily forget to move these when doing a pscc test, just flipping L-N dial.I appreciate that detail.

Hi, thanks for the helpful video. You mention the 3 lead low and using the three leads if RCDs are in circuit. The board that you were testing,from what I see has RCDs,so should that of been done on three lead low? I’m not too familiar with the Megger.

Hi, the Megger 1700 series testers gives you the option of using either a two or three lead test with a selection button. It’s to make the testing process as flexible as it can be. Other brands do not always have this option available. With a three lead test you will normally require a neutral conductor which isn’t always available as would be the case at most light switches. No this test was done before the rcd so no requirement for a low current loop test! 3 lead capability gives the added advantage of the instrument checking the polarity is correct!
