From moment I heard this band, my mind was blown. This latest record is incredible. The band keeps getting more and more amazing every time I watch a clip of them. This performance is fucking stellar. LOVE THIS BAND

I love genre-benders that come along when the music starts to become stale. I've never been a big metal fan, but I know that this is a breath of fresh air. I also like the irony of negro spiritual meets metal. ; p
@@Squeaky300 bullshit. There are every type of blacker. Nazi BM exist, Christian BM exist, and antifa BM exist. As they exist in every music genere, including rap, punk and, "oh fuck, really?" Ska
Such a Great performance! I love all the songs from start to finish especially Servants, You aint coming back and Gravedigger's chant. Big thanks zeal and ardor! Big thanks 3voor12! Big thanks RU-vid!
@@PaxBisonica89 Agreed. I think there's just a lot more mediocre bands out there than ever that it requires a bit of digging to find the bands that you like. And mediocre is subjective. one mans trash is another mans treasure. But anyone who hates on Zeal & Ardor is no friend of mine :P haha
yea, i just heard about these guys four minutes ago and im impressed. black metal in particular had grown stale. i liked bands like primordial for doing black metal with cleaner vocals (fusing in celtic elements with an irish tenor), and this is kind of similar. also i feel like satanic bands are hiding behind harsh vocals where they should be singing in a way any person off the street could hear their satanic message. i really like this vocal style too.
I'm still trying to figure out what I've felt on listening this "you ain't coming back" performance. Geez, this made me goose my pimples up. A M A Z I N G
great footage but the video really doesn't do their sound justice. the dynamic shifts from the soft chord/vocal parts into black metal feel MASSIVE live. saw them last night and was blown away.
Yeah feels the same to me. This video does not do them justice. In fact they don't sound good at all here. Saw them at Wacken this year and they just blew me away. I can say without exaggeration that I broke out in tears of joy, thats how good they were. By far the best act of the whole festival. Was unbelievable how much power and aggression they took to the stage. Sounded like they turbocharged all their songs.
It's Amazing. I wish a band like zeal and ardor were a thing when i was a teen because i know that a lot of black kids who like metal always felt super alienated by the genre. Now this? This mixes everything so well that i can't stop myself for loving it.
@@xBaRLoGx Because black kids who like metal are shamed for it both by the black and the white community. Also sometimes, specially with folk and black metal there is a big probability that both th fans and the band are white nationalists. So it isn't very welcoming.
Amazing gig!!! Unique distinctive band! Its shock for me to listen mix of black metal, alternative and soul music! It's new wave of metal music! Shaman-avant-gardist!!! Greetings from Russia!
Actually he’d say something like “well it’s true, Africans were enslaved by the CHRISTIANS” This is black metal afterall, I don’t understand where you’re going with this comment. He doesn’t even care about black metal anyways
Black metal African-American teens can be inspired by and be fans of. I friggen love it. It's also black metal the scares the likes of Varg and his racist ilk. smash NSBM. Stranger Fruit is in my wish list. Just hope the vinyl version doesn't sell out by the time I get $$.
I hope they evolve their sound further on the next album Z&A have a lot of potential to be unique Loved Stranger Fruit it’s one of the best releases along side with Portals Ion
All of the above, and if I may here are some of my other favourites from this year. Automata II by BTBAM, The Bernoulli Effect by Actias Luna, Applause of a Distant Crowd by VOLA, Vile Luxury by Imperial Triumphant and Phanerozoic I: Palaezoic by The Ocean
These guys are NOW quite literally my favorite new band, these guys are amazing. Metal gets so repetitive sometimes and these guys bring a whole flavor to it-love this shit!! I was wavering on buying Sonic Temple tickets, but now I know these guys are going to be there-oh that shit is getting bought!
I didn’t really like them until I saw this, wow I love what they’re doing blending genres and bringing everyone into the black metal sound with their own interesting take on it
Just saw Z&A at the Underground Arts in Philly - very small venue. Words cannot express how great the show was. I heard these guys in 2014, and i'm so glad I got to meet them; they're my new favorite band.
i mean some people are ofenden when people call this black metal but it has guitar riff like black metal and this new genre is called black slave spiritual metal and i really like this im even gonna see them live at complexity fest in haarlem netherlands they are the headlining band there and the whole fest is about technical metal bands
First time I listen to these guy, I was like. Blues/gospel music with Black Metal? Seriously? I click on their other video to find out more. There is this one song called "Don't you dare". Man, tell you what.Blues music has never be so scary in my life. Fell in love ever since.
