Gerhard Schmid, the chairman of the SPÖ Vienna Hietzing was born on September 13, 1960, he is a member of the Vienna State Parliament and a member of the Vienna City Council. Since June 2019 he has been chairman of the SPÖ Federal Education. From 2015 to 2016 he was federal manager of the SPÖ.
Dr. Gerhard Schmid is the author of numerous publications and a university professor by profession. In 1999 he published the book "Österreich im Aufbruch. The Austrian Social Democracy in the Kreisky Era" with STUDIEN Verlag.
In spring 2020 he published the regular TV discussion "Zeit.Gesrpächte mit Gerhard Schmid". In Episode 36 he talks with Alma Deutscher.
