One year later, I'm psyched out, my Nintendo Switch OLED, Legend of Zelda Edition, with the Breath of the Wild game should be here later today! I'm ready to roll. My last game system I bought was the Wii the first one. Lately I've been playing Metroid Prime 1 and 2 on my old GameCube and I'm definitely ready for the Switch!

Buying an OLED TV changed my gaming experience forever so it’s no surprise the OLED screen on this Switch enhances the experience. Once you go OLED you don’t go back.

I have a launch day version of the switch that i bought along with this game. It worked great up until a few weeks ago and I started noticing lag in places that it has never lagged before. Obviously places like the korok forest is a bit laggy, but now i notice lag around the faron region, thundra plateau, some parts of hyrule castle, and a lot of places that I cant think of right now. I also reveive lag in splatoon 3. I was wondering if the performance is that major that it is worth the money. I'm also planning on buying The Legend of Zelda Tears of The Kingdom and I would like the same smooth performance on my first playthrough, like I had on on Breath of The Wild back in 2017.

The best way to play this is by using the joycons detached and holding them in each hand kicking back while OLED is on table in front of you. You can play for longer periods too cause most of the game is just casually walking around anyways.

I suggest you to try Xenoblade Chronicles. It becomes a complete different game. I wish I hadnt already finished it... Ive tried around 20 games on it si far and Ive not seen one single game that looked more pixelized than on my switch lite, where as the screen is much bigger. And there are so much more colours. Its almost a game changer in my opinion. I had switched from the standard model to the lite one, cause most games looked a bit sharper. Now im back to the biggest oled model.

Are there less framerate drops in botw on the switch OLED? I know hardware hasn’t really changed but I was wondering and can’t find an answer elsewhere.

My only issue with botw on switch is that the performance is kind of garbage at times, especially in dock mode.

I want to buy an OLED switch only issue is future burn in, I have a Samsung note 9(since launch) and it has already burned in the ui, This will happen and it happens when there is static images or icons on screen, I just wish Nintendo just made 2 versions of this bigger display model. One with an IPS panel and the option of OLED as we have it now. Don't get me wrong OLED TV's and phones are great experiences but I cant help but prefer an IPS for my gaming monitors/handhelds that I mainly use on a day to day bases. IPS is the better tech for longevity but OLED is so crisp and colors are just outstanding. Nintendo should give us a IPS option at the same price with the same upgrades.
