Zelda II: The Adventure of Link Video Walkthrough

This is a video walkthrough / playthrough / runthrough / etc of the NES game Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. I think I find all the hidden dolls and p-bags. I'm pretty sure I got all the dolls, though I suppose there is a chance I missed one or two bags....Other than that, I think I did a good job.
This was a game I owned way back in the day. I remember when I finally was able to beat it, how much fun I had going through it all over again with the upgraded stats, killing the bosses in one hit...Muhahahahaha.....Was quite fun... :P

You're actively keeping part of his legacy alive and allowing others to participate in doing so. I never knew him, or his work while he was alive, but I feel that he's already added value to my own life through this channel. It may be an unfortunate thing, but in the context of your question I'd say what you're doing is a good thing. So, thank you both and my condolences.

I never knew how to beat this game. This game never told you where to go. In Mario Brothers, after you beat one level it takes you to the next. With this game I just walked around the forest not knowing where to go until I just stopped playing the game. I never beat Zelda I or Zelda II.

Thank you, that is very kind of you. Losing Jeremy was the hardest thing that has ever happened to me, and believe me over the years there have been some pretty difficult occurrences. His birthday is coming up the end of Sept. I am hoping I don't crash like I did the last two years. We had a very special relationship. I would call him my mini-me, even though he was an inch taller. I still miss him every day, but the pain is not as severe with the passage of time. I know I will see him again some day. Once again. thank you for your kind comment. Jeremy's Dad

Just for the record.....I liked Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. Nope really. I got it back in the day and like most was hoped for the Zelda sequel, as I started to play my enthusiasm and excitement decreased until I was like.....WTF? But I didn't have much else back then so I persisted, and persisted and started progressing more and more to the point where I actually started to enjoy and look forward to my next play sessions. I completed it and had a feeling of satisfaction. I know many hated it but I feel in the end it was time well spent.

I LOVE Zelda games. All of them that I've played. The story, the characters, the consistent game play mediums...but for some reason, they make me feel so sad and lonely, ESPECIALLY this game. I don't know why. Like...Link never gets anything, no love, no real friends, no home, no family. Just...wanders around and struggles for people - in such terrible conditions. It's so sad to me. There's just something so ...mysterious about these games to me, but they make me feel depressed and nostalgic.

I agree, it makes me feel exactly the same to be honest and never knew why. The music is a big part of that feeling.. and the whole game world is so freaking empty and sober (like the houses with only 1 table in it, and 1 character) Back in the day those type of games just felt empty and sad to me in general, but ESPECIALLY Link.

I've been told this countless times before. While growing up playing this, I never did that, so when I made the videos, I just sort of went with muscle memory more or less with fighting enemies and whatnot. Obviously I wasn't fighting some of the enemies the best way that I could have.

I played this game a lot as a kid. IMO it doesn't get that good until the second island, where the gameplay is much more challenging and varied. The difficulty really ramps up toward the end, and the final palace is downright evil.

well wadda you know. I stopped by here randomly, again because of the awesome gameplay I stayed. There's no doubt in my head now. Yesterday I was watching Blaster Master walk through with my brother, It was probably your son's too. Cheers. This game was so damn hard on it's date (even now to me) but it's highly constructive and rewarding. A great adventure for any child.

Its hated only because it was more like a Plataformer and RPG. More games werw inspired by this game than the original Zelda. Battle of Olympus, Rambo, River City Ransom, and some spin-offs of Final Fantasy were clearly inspired by this game. Its actually the best 8-bit Zelda and one of the best Zeldas with Ocarina of Time, Majoras Mask, and Link to the Past.

I don’t care what anyone says. This was an awesome Zelda game. The instruction manual was fun and sets up a creative world that lives in your imagination. There are tons of secrets and things to explore. Link gets stronger and more badass as the game goes on. And the combat is a ton of fun. I was born in '91 and my first Zelda experience was Ocarina of Time. I've since played and beaten all of the Zelda games made since then. A few years ago I got the gamecube special Zelda disk and played Zelda 1 and Zelda 2. Zelda 1 was hard as hell, but I beat it and enjoyed it. Then I tried to tackle Zelda 2......... And couldn't get past the 2nd dungeon... That game is too dang hard... I was patient with it for a few weeks and then threw my hands up in frustration and gave up. I must have died atleast 1,000 times in that 2nd dungeon. I have no doubt that I would have eventually beaten it if I had tried, but it got to the point where it wasn't even fun anymore. Zelda 2 went way overboard with the difficulty.......... There's rewarding difficulty that's hard enough to challenge you and gives you a sense of accomplishment when you beat it and then there's bang your head against the wall and yell every cuss word in the book difficulty.... Zelda 2 is that times ten....... The sad thing is it could be a great game if they remade it and toned down the difficulty just a tad and tweaked the upgrade system a bit.

I still had no clue what I was doing so I decided to look up the game on RU-vid and your walkthrough was the first one to come up. Now when we play my son tells me “mom RU-vid” to watch your video as a guide. Thank you so much for this amazing video, I tell my husband the person playing has amazing skills.
