Zelda Musical Bytes - Molgera - Man on the Internet 

Looking back on it now, it’s kinda cathartic ‘The world will never change, it will only turn’ Things still all this time later have barely changed. Once again Ganon threatens the land. And once again, Molgera gets remade to guard another wind temple. It came back to the same spot. Colgera was born.

Look at the bottom of Molgera's lip things. There is a pattern that resembles eyes. This pattern is common in nature, and by far the most common purpose is to scare away predators. Based on the positioning, it seems to be most effective at warding off threats at a lower altitude. Seeing as how Molgera can fly and can burrow in sand, it most likely existed in the desert, this means that something from the desert and lived either above and/or below ground was the main threat. The first thing that comes to mind are Mulduga, but I don't think they existed at the time. He is the boss of the wind temple, so maybe they flew by catching the wind and they burrowed in the sand of beaches. There are a lot more things that could pose a threat. But then there's the obvious size problem. Or maybe he was just a monster created by Ganondorf to keep the wind safe sealed idk. Also I don't really know where else to put this but Molgera vaguely resembles the wind waker.

I've always thought of bosses with the "Mol" prefix as THE definitive minor boss of the Zelda series. They may not have major roles in the story, but you can't deny that they appear more often than any other boss. In essence, Moldorm/Molgera/Molduking is the Petey Piranha to Ganon's Bowser, and for that they will always hold a special place in my heart.

The lyrics in this song makes the whole Zelda series depressing when you think about it because you can never truly win.

Clearly, Zelda monsters have their own opinions about the eternal cycle of destruction and rebuilding Hyrule is trapped in thanks to one incredibly poor loser. Also, enjoying the references to the Edgar Allen Poe poem Conqueror Worm. It fits.

Molgera is actually terrifying to think about. If it's that deadly in a room full of sand, imagine what would happen if it got to the sea.

BREAKING NEWS: Local sand worm obtains voice of an angel!

I love that little distort behind the singing voice--it kind of explains exactly HOW a giant flying sandworm with freaky flapping jaws would "sing" this. It's actual voice is the distortion sounds, but the singing is probably some kind of telepathy that's translating it to something Link could understand. It totally makes sense! Now I want the LoZ to have a boss that sings like this as it attacks, giving backstory to the player (and Link), and maybe indirectly reminding them how high the stakes are during the adventure. That'd be pretty freaking cool!

Moldorm, Twinmold, Molgera, and now Molduga. The Moldorm family has evolved quite magnificently.

All I can imagine is Molduga with his grandpa molgera watching Urbosa get shredded by ThunderBlight, eating popcorn. "So, how you doing, pops?" "Good. It's nice to stay at your place for a bit, those Islands were getting a bit cramped."

I like how the use of "Phantoms" serves a dual purpose in terms of references. Not only is it a reference to Conqueror Worm, like many of this song's lyrics, it also references the fact that Phantom Ganon is one of Windwaker's main bosses. The same goes for references to puppets, as this game also has Puppet Ganon, which, unlike Phantom Ganon, is unique to Windwaker.

No one: Edgar Allan Poe rising from the dead: "You want some sick lyrics from one of my poems?"

that's a real nice touch at the end, instead of Molgera saying "The wind through the flowers" it's the minions saying that because he's dead.

This song is something else, man. Reminds me of Bloody Tears. Much of it happens when fighting the Hero of Winds, telling of the repeated cycle of victory and failure Link, Zelda, and Ganon share through their incarnations. However, the second verse speaks of the Hero failing to strike Ganon down. This seems a lot like he's singing to the Hero of the Wild. But in reality, he's still talking to the Hero of Winds. He's not the same as Molduga, but Molgera, much like Ganon, will find a way to torment the hero throughout the ages. But why would he mention the failure to the Hero of Winds? Well, think about how Wind Waker starts out. It starts with the Hero failing to appear upon Ganon's return, and the world being drowned to keep him at bay. History repeats itself, after all, and will never fail to repeat itself. Someday down the line, Ganon will win again, and thus will the worm king return as well, in yet another form. And he did.

If anyone wants to use this for a dragon, just replace worm in the chorus with Wyrm, a word of dragon. That way you could use this for The Ender Dragon, Ghidorah, or The Screaming Death

Now watching more of the video instead of listening, I'm seeing there's more about Molgera reminiscent of Morpheel. Not only is it's intro movements in the air very similar to Morpheel's Final Stage, but it also has the phase of using the grapple hook of that game to grapple a weak point inside a tentacle.

I love the duality that it's an incredibly powerful boss, but it's theme just makes you want to smile and dance, despite the tone of these lyrics.

I’ve been listening to this song repeatedly, because it’s really good. I also had fun actually looking up The Conqueror Worm and matching the lyrics of this to the poem. The ways in which you incorporated them was really clever.

Just read the poem the lyrics were semi-based on, and HOLY BALLS, nice job putting the poem to Molgera's kick-butt theme! Man on the Internet just musically outshining all. I swear, this dude's more like God of the Internet lmao, this guy makes such amazing songs!! I just wish I knew the guy, he seems like he's probably just an awesome guy through-and-through. If I may suggest a song, how about Zant's battle theme? [You know, if you're a masoschist lol, that'd be hard to lyric-ify.] More seriously though, I might find some kick-butt songs to toss your way as suggestions, probably in the replies to this comment, if I can keep track of it. I know this is random but here's a tip for fighting molgera in Breath of the wild: striking at it's belly almost does double or triple normal damage depending on what weapon you use

I like the ambiguity of this piece. Are those really Molgera's opinions being put to song? Sounds like it, except for "I've taken power into my hands", and "For at the end of days, we're all a worm's meal!", maybe it's really Ganondorf? Personal opinion, since Ganondorf halfway wanted Link to succeed in "Wind Waker", to prove he really was the recurring hero who would bring him the courage piece, that this is Ganondorf speaking through Molgera, trying to disguise the fact, but slipping up at points. This would suggest that for all his self reflection, Ganondorf still has a pretty high opinion of himself. And maybe the "backup singers" are really Molgera adding it's own thoughts to the mix? "The world will never change, it will only turn." Not only is that scientifically inaccurate, even for a fantasy world like Zelda, but "Wind Waker" is the MOST change we've ever seen in a Zelda game. There's a sea where once was a country! Fits with Ganondorf's goal to undo the flood and claim Hyrule though, doesn't it? The Edgar Poe poem was a good choice as well. The "Tragedy Of Man" being a play about living puppets who don't see their own strings, the conqueror worm being the hero who sets them free...gruesomely, but this isn't "The Tragedy Of Man", this is "The Legend Of Zelda" and the worm isn't the hero here. This story is a happy one. Despite the once proud kingdom being covered by a cursed, fishless sea, life is going well. The only people who miss the old land are the king and the would be king, and the Kking proper gets over it. Molgera has delusions of grandeur, but in this particular game, it's just another worm on the reel.

So, an idea I had. If you listen closely, there's a much deeper, more guttural voice beneath the main melody... except when it sings 'the wind through the flowers'. The guttural voice is the actual Molgera, while the other voice is being used by it, and the 'wind through the flowers' is the voice's owner - likely Fado - trying to reach out to link and cheer him on.

My main question is how does this thing not choke on all that sand

It''s a video game with a similar feel and style like Undertale, though it never took off in popularity like it did, even if it instills the same feels/tears Undertale does, or in my opinion, even more so. The game deserve so much more attention for how amazing it is, even if it was released a few years ago, and I love it to bits. If you won't, that's fine, just keep making amazing content like always!
