I'm really glad they brought Gleeok back after his almost two decades of absence. Love his design and the fact they made a King Ghidorah reference with his final counterpart.
Quick tip: if you’re watching this video to farm Gleeok guts, only focus on the King Gleeok locations and forget about the rest. While I don’t have exact data, the drop chance for Gleeok guts is so low for normal ones compared to King Gleeoks always dropping them in my experience.
Just like with lynel guts and frox guts and Hinox guts you’ll always get guts from silver lynels and blue white frox and black hinox but the rest won’t always drop them.
Just did #3 this morning and it's one of favorites of the Gleeok fights. Starts in the air stun them there and as they fall with that triumphant music playing boldly in the background as you descend with them (8:49) ready to strike those hard hits
MY GOODNESS!!! I just beat my first Gleeok today (the one on the Bridge of Hylia) and it was so exhilarating. I encountered it very early on and couldn't even scratch it without dying, but I came back after getting some better weapons, along with the Flamebreaker armor and upgrading it to be fireproof. I still died several times, and it hit like an absolute freight train, but I managed to finally kill it! So satisfying.
The first Gleeok I killed was the Frost variant at Biron Snowshelf. I took a really good picture of it after saving and thought to myself it would be really nice to win on this attempt and get to keep that picture. I got frozen immediately upon getting noticed, so my strategy was to hide behind a nearby sky debris and occasionally come out to shoot Keese Eye arrows, then after knocking it down attack it with a weapon made with my best fusion material. This worked fine until the end when it took to the skies and started raining down massive icicles on me, and I thought "ok now what, how am I meant to deal with this when I can barely move from under this sky debris". That's when I had the idea to use Recall to ride an icicle up to him, which I did before proceeding to fire my arrows and knock it back down to the ground where it died on impact, much to my amazement. It was such an incredible "turning the tables" moment, going from being trapped under debris and pelted by giant icicles to using a new ability in a creative way to instantly gain the upper hand. My first real Gleeok battle is certainly something I'm gonna remember for years to come, and I have an awesome picture to go right along with it.
That sounds so cool! I had a similar moment when I was fighting the Flame Gleeok. I didn't even know how to react to its meteor attack at first so I got killed on my first time getting to that, then I saw it made a big updraft, so I thought maybe I could ride that. I did, but got killed by a SECOND meteor attack going up. When I finally did get up, I shot at its heads with arrows, and when it came crashing down, it only had a sliver of HP left upon hitting the ground! It felt like the game was going "Now's your chance! FINISH IT OFF!!" SO FRIGGIN' SATISFYING after dying so many times to it. And I was finally able to cross the bridge to South Hyrule and explore down there. I know I could have just climbed the mountains there, but I couldn't be bothered, so getting access to The Faron Region felt extra rewarding.
@@PJBgamer Yeah that's gotta be great knocking a really tough boss down to one hp and knowing you just have to make your way over there and victory is yours. It's also really cool unlocking Faron by beating this guy and clearing the bridge like you said.
Gleeok is a badass. And I know its from a seperate timeline, but with how poes returned I think Jalhalla wouldve been such an amazing boss to be added to the depths. He would fit in perfectly and like gleeok, could go from being goofy to menacing in this game
Fun Fact: What appears to be Twinrova (or more specifically Kotake and Kuome) appear with Ganondorf in some of the flashbacks...Twinrova as a dlc boss would be really cool imo.
I looked around the area for a bit with no results before coming back to this video to find out it's in the sky. Then I look up in my game and barely see it flying around above me. I don't know what exactly, but something about it was kinda unsettling. Maybe because such a powerful enemy was just flying there in the absolute middle of nowhere, so it was just you and it.
Has the elemental rock-paper-scissors mechanics from BotW been updated? For the Flame/Frost Gleeoks, I'd imagine that having an elemental damage weapon would work wonders. Since lightning weapons have extra/AoE damage on water/during rain, do the new water/splashing stuff you can attach to arrows do extra damage to lightning elements? The idea of short-circuiting them seems like something that would work, making the water/shock another pair that worked along fire/ice.
honestly havent seen much of a difference hitting them with the opposite type or just regular weapons. Seems like there's a damage cap, or maybe they just ignore elemental damage. The thunder gleeok, however, fell a lot faster when i hit him with shock arrows, ironically enough.
I saw #2 on the bridge while trying to get a dragon tear. I NOPED HARD when I saw a 3 headed hydra looking MF and teleported back to the tower LMAO Turns out they’re gleeoks from the first Zelda, damn. They’re much scarier now
well, this answers my question on how to ground the flame gleeok flying high in the Trilby valley. he STAYS on the ground after you crit hit the first time. ty for this :3
I spent so much time searching for the one in Eldin ! Thanks for the vid, I would have never know I was supposed to find it in the air if I hadn't seen it ^^'
I only had one gleeok left, and it was the one flying around in the sky over Trilby Valley. I didn’t know it was flying around till I saw this! So thank you!
Me when Flux construct: Cool! I love bosses that use this idea. Me when Malice hands: Oh, so we’re playing death stranding now? Me when Gleeok: WTF, ARE YOU TELLING ME I HAVE TO FIGHT GHIDORA FROM THE KAIJU MONSTERVERSE?!?! *THERES 14 OF THEM?!?!?!*
I low key want to see a gleeok that specializes in melee attacks and not elemental (default gleeok since there is no real default gleeok) it has no wings but is significantly tankier and visually more muscular It will replace one flame gleeok (to even out the amount of fire gleeoks to the rest) and two king gleeoks (since they are the strongest gleeok they appear more than the thunder and frost which I find strange) So in the end 3 default gleeoks 3 thunder gleeoks 3 flame gleeoks 3 frost gleeoks 2 king gleeoks What y’all think?
Man, I watch these videos and have to go "How did you get so GOOD with that aiming?" When I am playing BotW and TotK, I cannot manage to line up ONE shot without a full 3 bar stamina gauge and I'm using a Pro Controller.
I still get frozen with freezeproof I still get electricuted when I wear lightning proof helm maybe shock proof would work better? I still get damage with fireproof too whenever I go up against the king gleeoks I just wear my best armor and take a high attack power food and just try to stay in bullet time when they’re not down lol
Fun fact: You can actually cheese all the gleeok fights by having a bunch of honing arrowhead items (the eyeballs are perfect) and some savage lynel bows. If youre quick enough, even the thunder gleeok gets taken out before it can summon thunder storms. I just beat all of them in like 30 minutes including travel time.
These things once frightened me. Then multishot Lynel bows, Keese Eyeball fuses, and impact damage became my greatest friends. Nothing quite like getting it down to like, 50HP, watching it rise up high, spamming a few eyeball fused arrows, then watching the fall kill it.
If you beat this without a lynel bow or royal guard’s bow you either really talented have tons of eyeballs to fuse to your arrows or just one shot it with a stupidly powerful weapon like this guy
Driving me crazy the one gleeok I was missing turned out to just be the spectacle rock Gleeok. I guess I was a little confused how to fight him from up on his perch so I left him alone until the end.
The first thing I did after meeting up with Purah was go to the great plateau. And then I visited the stadium to see if the lynel was still there and then I saw the thunder Gleeock and booked it out of there.
Even with an interactive map i could not have guessed that triby valley one was that high in the sky, thought he would just have his fat ass parked on the ground or hover up and about in view
I'm hunting for gleeok guts and didn't know you had to kill the top tier monsters to get it loll found out after fighting silver monsters and then tried the gleeok kings an badda Bing badda boom time to upgrade armor
am tryn to farm gleeok guts out here and out of the three that I killed only one of them drop some guts and it was only ONE. How am I suppose to farm 9 gleeok guts to max out my Ancient Hero's Aspect, on top of the fact that I completed 152 shrines just to be rewarded with an item that asks for an outrageous amount of stuff to max out.
i have never been more frustrated then i have now just trying to stay up in the air trying to hit their heads but i cant get up at all because of ice just falling on me, fuck this boss and that attack fucking hell
How haven’t you. I mean if the games been out for 9 days and you say played it at midnight or got up early that morning then along the way of the play through you can easily mark them. (Also there’s a side quest marking their locations so you don’t have to search)
I can personally say that during my fight with the king above Eventide Island, when I knocked him out of the sky with headshots and he was close to the edge, he literally fell all the way down to the island and I was so confused and was honestly laughing about the fact that I did that, but I had to go to my most recent save before I fought him cuz it would make it less frustrating having to go all the way back up just to knock him down again cuz he’ll only fight on the sky island.
The bow is the Dusk Bow which is found on top of Hyrule Castle. Like, the very top. And it looks like the weapon itself is some kind of two-handed weapon fused with a Blue Lynel mace horn. Yeah, use a stronger fusable material. Edit: My best guess for the weapon fused is a Royal Claymore but IDK for sure.
I’d recommend doing the ice ones since they don’t do any thunderstorms or heat, plus you can just go to rito village to get warm armor. The ice ones are easy so those can be done.
