Zella Day records “Sweet Ophelia” at Daddy’s House Recording Studio in this video filmed in Manhattan. Buzzsessions are performance music videos produced by The Wild Honey Pie. With each new episode, we capture footage of our favorite bands as they record alternate studio quality versions of their songs.
In a room of flowers and orange light, Zella Day showcased what makes her and her music so very special with this recording session featuring her songs “Compass” and “Sweet Ophelia.” Filmed at the Sean Combs owned Daddy’s House Recording Studio, this Buzzsession us swooning for the up-and-coming singer with undeniable talent.

I listened to this song and bought the album. I'll admit, the album is pretty good, and I know it can be successful but she doesn't need the production. Her stripped down like this is something special whereas the album feels like a different take on Lorde, or something on those lines. This version shows you can rip someone's soul with two guitars and one voice.

I was at the Bowery Ballroom for Coasts and she was the opening artist. Didn't know who she was or what her music was like, but I was pleasantly surprised. It was acoustic the first time I heard it, but when I went online later to check out her music, it didn't sound as good. She definitely doesn't need auto tune.
