Zellers is back: Can the nostalgic brand survive Canada's retail landscape? 

Zellers was my favourite store when I was a kid.🙂

One thing for sure it should stay. Hudson’s Bay stores could fade out and Zellers would take it’s place completely. other stores like Walmart, Giant Tiger, & Canadian Tire need competition. Nordstrom is going out of business. That doubles the chance of Zellers entering back into the retail landscape

IMO most Canadian people love Zellers.

One is not planned for Durham region ON. I am so disappointed. I always loved Zellers. I always have resented Walmart.

Zellers was one of my preferred stores I bought a lot from them in the past I would now too.

UNless it is cheaper than WInners /Marshalls and a tad more than DOllarama : I am not too hopeful ! !

If they do it right, and they are (starting off small) then yes it can. This very well could be the comeback of the century for the biggest Canadian flex ever.

Yeah, I don’t see Zellers doing good in Canada again either. It closed down once, and based on going to the Zellers opening near me this time, it's the same Zellers stuff. I don't think the hype for them will last long.

What a scam...The Bay was looking for a way to get rid of their inventory....so let's tack on a few Zellers logos and boom! the peasants will be here, spending their money

I’m gonna tell you guys right now, that Zellers isn’t gonna survive. They need an electronic section. This isn’t the 90s or 00s. If zellers was gonna be brought back, it has to throw out everything it knows and relearn.

Well, I'll wear a Zellers logo shirt, eat Zeller's ketchup chips, and hug my Zeddy bear. You betcha.

They should bring back target

What a joke. Hudson's Bay is shutting down stores in just about every city and putting back Zellers in the Hudson's Bay store that haven't closed yet. This new President from Australia should go home.

zellers? Let;s be honest, I was abit excited when they annouced their comeback. But now, WHAT ARE THEY DOING? They don't even make effort to bring it back nicely and fulfill the current market's trend and need. Look at their fixtures and props and walls, they look basic and cheapest and from the 70s or 80s. Not luxury or nice looking at all. They are just generic white fixtures, looks very much like a warehouse. How do they expect people to have a nice shopping experience? The lighting is bad. Why do these companies do not upgrade and learn from other companies in our countries??? look at France, they have nice shopping arcades and nice brands. Look at Thailand and Japan, they shopping malls and department malls are VERY VERY LUXURY and nicely renovated eventhough they sell only mid price ranged products. Now, look at zellers 2023. They look worse than a warehouse.... I guess our people here never learn. Zeller WILL FAIL again. You can just tell. Products are basic, no new brands and designer brands or local brands, basic warehouse looking fixtures and racks, little to no customer service, bad lighting.... Nothing correct is being done..... Who designed and approved this new zellers? Is our country's retail business really that bad? ....... I am just speechless. We are in 2023, why bring something back that is still from the 80s? The market has changed....
