I used to have a Zen garden that a spent 30 minutes a day just letting my mind go whenever it desired. And then I got cats. Maybe in time I take it out again and just learn to become one with the paw prints.
@@accountid9681I mean I've had my phone last 30 minutes on 0% so. It was on max battery saver and my phone has a habit of reading the battery incorrectly, but still.
One of my daughters went through a "Satisfying Videos" phase which was comprised mostly of images/sounds of hands squishing slime and various items/materials being cut open. Well, now daddy has found _his_ Satisfying Videos 😻.
I had a meltdown earlier because this school term has been so stressful. But after watching this it's amazing how I was able to let my thoughts wander and then let them go and relax. I don't even remember how I found this video. But I'm so grateful.
@@senormooples2354 I am feeling much better! I finished the term and am taking a break from school for the rest of the year. I really appreciate your comment! :)
There’s a mathematical beauty in this art form. I felt a deep sense of calm in seeing the order, like all is right with the world. The creations feel eternal, yet they are so fleeting.
Never before did I realize the influence of Zen garden patterns on Art Deco (among many other "media"). This was mesmerizing. I will add, though several people wrote about the process putting them to sleep, I found myself wide awake by the end--relaxed and calm, though fully awake and alert. Thanks for sharing this...
wow, there really are professionals in everything. this is why I love the internet, you get to see people showcase skills you might not have even known existed otherwise :)
For me this was the most impressive pattern, 9:22, considering that in came only from doing a single linear pass of the rake. The visual effect of that cuadricule is amazing.
This looks like it takes a lot of practice to get the lines so perfect, thank you. I love how you can still see the patterns after the under rake is used, very subtle and beautiful.
The precision is so soothing. They have me thinking, all surgeons must do this as an outlet, and to keep their coordination in tact. Absolutely lovely!
Usually that phrase refers to the fact that a conflict has become inevitable and battle plans drawn up, so giving the phrase new connotations of peace and calmness is a really cool take on this!
I truly admire the precision of your gestures. This is the kind of thing I'd love to do for relaxation, but I'm clumsy, my hands are shaky, and I get nervous about little details like a line that's not straight etc... so I'd probably spend 20mn trying to draw a satisfying circle, fail, and get anxious 😂
well i don´t even have a zen garden so you´re doing better than me already man. Creation is a natural human trait, do you think ancient pots found at archaeological sites are made by masters? Nah. Just people doing people things. There is no fail. There is only create.
That's because you are thinking while you do it. The entire point of zen is let the mind do it's own thing. Release yourself from the need of controlling your mind.
Hahahaha! I was thinking the same about doing it for relaxation. Then I remembered my hands are shaky and I freak out about details like straight lines or perfect circles and would also spend forever trying to get it perfect and just end up anxious and stressed!! Better to watch someone else do it lol!
19:36, the disc in the ripples is floating above the rings and bamboo poles below. it's as if the disc was dropped and the ripples are rolling out from the impact on the meniscus. it's all very 3D in a 2D plane
some may say that symmetrical shaping, planned sketching, and precision tools takes the zen out of the garden, but to those on the ocd spectrum it's absolutely necessary or the entire world will burn. pure relaxation...
Before watching this, I thought making a zen garden would be easy- but after, I see it takes alot of talent to actually make something that looks nice. Very impressive! 👍
I found this very beautiful. As a maker, the precision I need when crafting an item is similar to the skills needed for this. It is exercising that same thought muscle, tuning your mind to steadiness.
Idk how you don't have enough recognition.. Your zen garden videos are by far the best I've seen out there.. So smooth.. Such pleasing sounds and visuals ✨✨✨
My favorite part of this is when the pattern is wiped away. It's a lovely reminder that I too shall be wiped away, my mistakes and failures along with me.
I saw Zen Garden patterns many times, but i didn’t know what all those for. But after watching this video, it really makes more sense and this art speaks up everything without anyone speaks.
These videos reset my mind. Sadness, depression, self-flagellation - everything goes away, leaving a feeling of floating in the middle of endless space. I used to watch ASMR videos, but they didn’t help much, but your RU-vid channel gives me a feeling of comfort and peace of mind. Thank you!
This, was extremely calming for me. I was super stressed out and felt fine by the end of this video. I gotta make watching these a regular thing. As a mathematical person, I really love the geometric patterns here. I also love the dual concept of: 1) Being willing to put a lot of work into something beautiful and let it go 2) Having something really complicated that, at first glance, you don't know how it was made be wiped clean and smooth The second point was important for me and I felt a lot of the things I was worrying about vanish
RU-vid has been recommending this to me for weeks and i finally watched it. I'm absolutely floored with how peaceful and destressed i feel while watching this
I think the fact it also looks very much like velvet and the neatness of the patterns give this satisfying soothingness. Has very much so scratched an itch in my brain that I never knew was there
This came up as a recommendation and I am very happy. Such beauty exists in the simple sound of the tools on the sand, and the precision of the patterns. Thank you ❤
This is easily the best Zen Garden video I've watched by far. Such clean movements and patterns. It's a pleasure from the beginning to the end. I rarely go through these videos all the way just because it's so hard to make them look this comfortable. Great work!
amazing work. i’ve had a zen garden for only a few months now but it’s surprisingly difficult to get patterns to come out properly. this was not only a great way to get a better understanding of it, but super mesmerizing to watch as well.
This may be my all time favorite video. If I could watch it on repeat without blaring commercials I’d sleep to it every night. Maybe a longer one in the future some day? Heck even if it was just this same twenty minutes repeating! Anyway, thanks for the soothing contemplation, your mind is beautiful expressed in the sand
@@mathiaslarsen6829 yeah but some people can't afford them or don't want to spend money on something they might not appreciate except for watching videos to help them sleep, I know I have that problem
Hey Yuki, just want to say thank you for these Zen Garden videos you make. When I find there is too much wurring around inside my head I revisit them from time to time to gently calm my brain down. Judging by the comments left on these videos I am not alone in how folks have responded to your service to humanity. Keep up the great work! :)
Me when he cuts a line through one of his patterns: "OH YOU FECKED IT YA FECKING WAFFLE WHAT THE FECK WERE YOUS THINKIN!" Me when it comes together after all and I see what he was doing all along: "I am one with peace, I am the lily"
Wow this is beautiful...you obviously put much thought, care, and intention into these patterns and it shows...great ASMR, very relaxing and fascinating. Thank you!
This was somehow the most relaxing yet exciting video I've ever watched. Also, very satisfying! My thoughts went elsewhere while I was watching. Thank you for the upload!
You scratch my head with these sticks! It's so great that someone is doing this and I found this video on RU-vid! I think I became more Japanese from watching this video) Total relax!
Wow I didn't know it would be this tingly and satisfying to view. This is so much better than the handheld sand garden I used to see as a kid. These longer videos lull me to sleep. Thanks for relaxing and peaceful content. Your movements are so calming
RU-vid is recommending me better and better ASMR for sleeping to and this was absolutely perfect. It's too early for bed, so I enjoyed this while awake (but struggling not to sleep, lol) and then I'll save it to watch again when going to bed :) Very beautiful work as well, you really have to have a steady hand and a keen eye for measuring distance to ensure each circle is formed perfectly. Very talented!
