I remember when US streamer were not believing the day Zen won the 1v3 Grand champion concept on Fury's channel. They are now quiet about Zen.. The only other player that almost won it was Vatira.

I’m not sure if appjack was a little off or not, without being able to see his POV, but it’s possible. Sometimes he plays a little more hesitant when he has a ton of (maybe too much) respect for his opponent. He’s already made a video declaring Zen to be potentially a #1 player, so we know the respect is there for sure. Also, idk how much experience he’s had dueling Zen, since Zen’s newer to 1v1, so that combined with the respect could’ve played a role. Then again, Zen is insane, so he really may just be that much better. As of now this seems to be true.

My mind is blown these past 3 showmatches. Johnny said it best, it's as if he sees the game in slow motion. Somehow always knows where his opponent is, never miscalculates who is closest to the ball, summons power out of nowhere using the power of baguettes. It doesn't make sense to me either, only possibility is he's the chosen one

@@1maonade Appjack *is* probably off. It is the middle of the Winter RLCS split so he is likely focusing more on scrims and 2v2 ranked than 1s. I mean, if he was grinding 1s more than just a few games a day he would be in the Top 10, but he isn't from what Johnny said at the start. The problem as well is that as Johnny said Jack is a highly adaption focused player. Jack was dominating EU in the 1s scene while he was there because he also played them in ranked so much, now he is in NA he is doing the same when he does 1v1s with NA players. Compared to prior to being in NA having a rather meh record against NA players.

@@alecthomson5027 They were too young to play in RLCS so they went on alt-accounts to bypass the age restriction. RLCS gives out a one year ban to any player who does this starting from the time they reach the minimum age to play RLCS. They both are banned for the same reason. Zen is unbanned in a month or two (I think) and NWPO in like six months or so (I think).

@@gregansbootstrap5352 Dark is just not consistent enough for ones rn. He has an insanely high ceiling but he just doesn't perform at that ceiling often (we've seen what happens when he does). His fundamentals are lacking as well.

Except for maybe rw9, trk and Daniel I don't think anyone stands a chance. So unless you think it's outrageous that flakes doesn't get credited as a top 5 player, it's not disrespectful

Jack hardly even play 1s for months now, it's the sadest thing for me in RL. I used to enjoy daily uploads of 1s games, then Jack fell off his 1s grind, focused on 3s, and now GenG is the world's best team with him at the front, and yet I'd rather see him pick up 1s again. No doubt for me Jack can be no1 in 1s if he wasn't taken away by 3s mode :/

Dark is flashy and amazing gifted but his defense is lacking compared to the other top players imo, but nwpo rw9 or trk 100% agreed

@@drewurquhart4275 I can see that , but he still beat Daniel, almost beat Firstkiller and Nwpo so he is definetly one of the best If anything that Dark vs Zen match would be great to see who is indeed the most mechanical player currently (I would say it is Dark by far tbh, followed by Nwpo and Zen)

Zen would melt dark but nwpo and trk would be a very interesting match-up

When you are young and full of confidence with natural talent and a thirst for improvement, it's natural that you'll throw a lot of caution to the wind and just do what you do, we've seen it in the past with players like Scrub and First, both paved the way for new levels of the game. As they grow and start to play competitively, the carefree approach has to be tempered and room made for risk management, team style etc. I haven't seen a prodigal 1's player, or player in general that hasn't had the edge taken off their game as they mature into their career, it just becomes consistently good enough to compete at the highest levels. That said, if RLCS was full of players playing with the flow, speed and precision as Zen does today.... well, that would be .... something :)

RW9 is the 1’s king. Neither Gen G or Faze are French and they’ve been running 3’s.

Yeah I feel like most goated 1’s players just get bored of the grind. Definitely has the least variation because it’s so kickoff dominant and is probably the most competitive too which causes burnout ig
