@@user-jd4jn5sp7t I haven’t seen it happen to him as much which is why I didn’t say vice versa. He played a fairly risqué role recently and didn’t really get the reception Zendaya got for doing this movie. There’s some misogyny in her experience and we can’t negate that.
For real though, when it comes to Zendaya in particular, some people tend to overlook that actors kissing on screen is just acting and doesn't carry personal meaning. It’s done in a professional setting with a lot of other people in the room. It’s not romantic. The focus on her relationship with Tom and people’s fascination with it might contribute to this oversight and while her relationship with Tom is not exactly a secret it’s super private so some media outlets try to dig out anything on their relationship to capture a viral moment. Some journalists are even weirder than fans like no need to make her or her co-stars feel uncomfortable and ask cringy questions. I love how it was brought up here.

THANK YOU for giving her the opportunity to address this! When the trailer first dropped so many viral tweets were made about her personal life that it was actually shocking. It's one thing for the public to mock or judge her but it's just wrong when journalists try to feed into it. You can clearly see it makes her and her costars uncomfortable.
Yeah Zendaya getting all those stupid questions about kissing has 100% to do with Tom Holland. If she was with somebody that's unknown, it wouldn't be a big deal. For example, Emma Stone did a hell of alot more than kiss in Poor Things. I didn't see people say how she could do that to her husband or be weird in interviews.
The thing is other couples like Ryan Reynolds/Blake Lively or Emily Blunt/John Krasinski don't get those types of questions. Just Zendaya. I don't even hear them ask Tom the same question, just Zendaya.

i mean actually people asked her about these sex scenes to the point of her saying something like "it's all anyone seems to want to talk about," also created a narrative around her husband being insecure which he wasn't and took as much offense to kimmel's oscar "joke" as she did, and insisted she was being forced or coerced to do things to the point that she had to make a statement that she is a producer on the film and creating this kind of rhetoric erases her agency as a producer (i'd add as a person). that because there were as few people as possible at any given time, because she worked with an intimacy coordinator, and bc everyone said people involved looked at her like "a lamp" (aka no sexual exploitation. professionals), the scenes were safe and that the hardest one to film was actually bella throwing up bc she's emetophobic. so not really a good example but zendaya and emma alike should be regarded as the professionals they are.

Funny thing is that remember it being less of a big deal back in 2017 with The greatest showman even though interviewers were gagging over Zac saying that the kiss he shared with Zendaya in the film was the best kiss he's ever had on screen and it was a lil awkward when they (the interviewers) brought it up to Zendaya in interviews which is understandable because Zac gave the interviewers something to talk about that's clickbaity but back then it wasn't as awkward as it is now knowing her relationship status
I agree, you would think that euphoria would have been enough but it seems some people still cant stop with the mental typecast they have of her being this disney girl. It seems even worse for her because of how naturally charismatic she is, I think weirdos start to look at her as this pure flower to protect rather than a person. At least that's my opinion. Every aspect of her acting and personal life is scrutinized in a way that other actors and celebrities don't get. Film bros go on and on about her supposed lack of range even though she's young and just beginning to expand. It's just because she's so popular and how she began her career, at least in my eyes. She just needs a couple more unique roles so she has more opportunity to prove her abilities as an actress before she gets the respect she actually deserves.
People are only asking about the kissing scene’s because THEY (the movie editors) used it as bait for people to see the movie. They knew it would cause headlines and that it would go viral. That’s why in the FIRST trailer they used that shot of Zendaya’s face and the 3 of them kissing. I don’t like how disingenuous they’re acting, like dude YOU read the script and knew that scene was in there and agreed to do the role, THEN you rehearsed the seen multiple times and filmed it. THEN you watched the trailer and saw the finished product. Why are you acting like you didn’t know people would make it viral?? we understand that it’s your job and that it’s normal but let’s not act like you didn’t know what you were doing with the promo of this movie. The world knows you’re in a public relationship with another well-known actor and they’re obviously going to ask you questions about that. Now they’re seeing you in this movie role and of course they’re going to ask questions to stir up headlines. Kissing other actors is a part of your job as an actor, but so is promotion.

i feel like seeing her as a child actor even after euphoria is kind of wild though. her character on euphoria is a teenager, yes, but she does drugs, swears and screams at her mother, and has sex scenes. apparently this movie won't even have a sex scene, it seems like the scene that everyone is talking about from the trailer is a "fade to black" moment.
Ken(the interviewer) even bringing up the kissing scene is lame. It's a movie, they are actors. Unfortunately I've become so jaded, I don't even get caught up in the drama of the storyline anymore. Might be my old age, too much history. I am considering the acting, directing, special effects and making of movies when watching. It's impossible for me to get ensconced into a movie of any genre.
I think we all have to talk about this acting like kisses or sex-scene. I mean why is it first of all necessary to bring such kind of scenes. And another question is, why there are doing such kind of things? Like actors and actresses who have merriages. And then they say, it is just an acting? Nothing personal? I think it is betrayel to husband, boyfrined, wife or girl. Just simple as that. If your girl kisses other mnns lips, with tongue, and then say just like it is a movie, it is just acting, that is brutal, that is betrayel. Such kind of scenes in movies is not necessary, because it is porn. In films it is soft porn, but it is still porn. When woman kisses another man, and then go to her husband and kisses him again and say, thats was just movie. That is hard and brutal. Maybe you do not understand now, what I am writing about, but you need time to understand that. And also you need a heart, a pure and faithful heart, to understand my words.

She only clarified that there's no sex scenes since Jimmy mentioned sex scenes which aren't there so she wanted to avoid misrepresenting the film to the audience
