She started out a little rough but ended up really amazing. She was outstanding while she danced and sang. she has true talent for such a young person.

Zendaya was really good in this performance. She was 17.

She actually spoke about this in a interview and said that she was so nervous that she was not so strong when singing. She even said she had stage fright after that. But she said shes been working with it

Apparently she couldn't hear into her earpiece and had very bad anxiety because of it. I mean it was her very first live performance

Im watching this after i read that this performance triggered her anxiety: "I used to struggle with anxiety pretty bad," she wrote in a blog post on her app. "It only happened when I sang live, not when I danced or did any other live performances, and it stemmed from a bad experience I had while singing on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' in 2013. It wasn't my best performance and I've never let myself live that down. I had mad anxiety ever since that."

She got more confident when she started dancing

She was nervous but she still sang live, danced really well! No twerking!! she was fully dressed!! Big props for that! all at 17. how many 17 y.o can say that!

The reason it sounded so wonky in the beginning is because the microphone was set to an auto tune setting (they do this A LOT on TV performances, even if the singer doesn’t know about it...did you see that JB vid?) and if you’re not on the pitch that has been programmed in, it will result in some heinous auto tune shifts.

She did so good for not being able to hear herself in her in-ear. Glad she found a way to overcome her anxiety of singing live that stemmed from this performance

She was young, she sounds much better now... But her dancing is always on point, that's all I have to say.

People saying that she's lip syncing. Buddy? Are your ears okay? Besides, it's the first time I hear her live, and she was pretty the same as in the actual song.

she did really good in my opinion. you can tell she was nervous in the beginng but as the song went on she got more comfortable and confident and sounded better. And she WAS singing live!!!!!!!!!

Zendaya looks and sounds amazing, if she had lip synced people would give her shit for that, so she can't win with the haters but I personally thought she was amazing.

So she wasn't her best in this performance. Okay then, fine. Possible reasons? 1) she was having a bad day and her voice wasn't up to par. That happens so much more than you expect with singers 2) dancing and singing was really tough to do at once. No one appreciates that she did sing it live? 3) she's still learning to sing better live perhaps, she's only really starting to sing live now No one can say she can't sing. She's not a Mariah or an Alicia or a Beyoncé but she's quite good, she's going to grow even more.

Zendaya can definetly sing she just needs a little more experience. You could definitely tell she was nervous but it was her first ever official live performance! Zendaya said herself she was nervous and she knows it wasn't her best. It is expected for her to be a bit nervous. When it comes to performing on talk shows or a small stage like this the key really is to keep it simple and to just sing. she really didn't need the backup dancers. It was too much for such a small stage on just a talk show. I could understand though her wanting to go all out especially her being a dancer. It just didnt need full on choreography. After a couple more voice lessons and stage work she will kill it! True talent! Just wait.

She really is talented. Sure, she isn't the best singer in the world, but she has a lot of talent and I respect her a lot and I'm a fan of hers!

Guys. She can sing but she is still new to this music industry. She is still learning how to use her voice live. And like a lot of new artists, their vocals get better after awhile. Give her time. She's still not used to singing live. Give her the support she needs. She CAN sing but she still hasn't mastered learning her voice. So give her time.

I would just like to say .This was Zendaya 's first performance and when you do something for the first time you will always get nervous and she was obviously nervous. I dislike the fact how alot of people are judging her cause of this. You's should be encouraging her and telling her she did good considering it was her first performance and come on give her at least some credit for having the courage to actually get on the stage and perform.

She has such potential to make it BIG!! Such a good entertainer the world needed! Happy she’s doing what she loves tho 💜
