Hiroaki Murakami took on the role of Heiji Zenigata, a character that has been played by many actors including Hashizo Okawa in the past. This series aired on TV Asahi in 2004 and consist of 11 episodes. It was the first time Murakami adopted the authentic townsperson's topknot hairstyle. He showcases his impressive presence with his tall stature in intense scenes of capturing criminals using a short joust (jutte). Sadahito Niwa, son of Hashizo Okawa, makes a guest appearance in the third episode.
