If you ollie, the nose helps catch your front foot. The tail also gets worn down by scraping and popping, so a symmetrical board can be skated in either direction, and therefor can last twice as long. Not all double kicks are symmetrical, but I believe this one is.

@@thundernixon I have it, it's directional, shorter nose, more concave in front, with flares, square tail, round nose.
