Worked pretty hard on this one and tried out some new things. Let me know if there's anything that you'd like to know that i didn't go over. Also, Music or No Music, let me know :)
Bonus tips if anyone knows what the audio is from in the transition clips.

Yo great video! Wanna chime in with a couple things. Personally, I think a better AvsB comparison would be the Trip vs the Maze. Essentially the Trip is designed around RKP trucks as is the Maze. Both boards can fit TKP as well. The Pranayama, on the other hand, is TKP only because TKPs have different geometry and we really built that board to maximize control with that geometry/getting the feet closer to the trucks and wheels. Regarding wheels, the McFly are softer and slower than the DEFCON Seismic urethane. Ultimately, you can still get soft and slow Seismics, like the clear blue 75a. Also regarding wheels, you can fit up to about 93mm wheels on a Pranayama without bite, depending on the inset of the wheels. The Prana would fit any of the wheels you were testing, and you can also fit the new 90mm Seismic Megawatts with the DEFCON thane, which is notoriously among the fastest in the world. That said, the Megawatts will not rail match as nicely as the Speed Vents. Regarding the epoxy, the Prana is indeed built with 100% epoxy build, which is waterproof (I’m not aware of any porous epoxy out there but I may be wrong about its existence!). Directly under the outer shell veneer, you have triaxial fiberglass. Carbon fiber does not outlast fiberglass, and in fact can sometimes be the opposite for a flexible board, as carbon is more brittle/less flexible than glass. This is why we use glass for most of our builds. The brittleness of carbon adds stiffness but tends to break when over-flexed, as opposed to the glass, which will flex much further before over-stressing. That said, epoxy compound is a major factor here as well. The only thing I think you’re missing in the review is to make note of the curved drops. They are comfortable (you mentioned that) but also provide an excellent shelf for pushing around the deck on toeside slides! You’ll get the hang of it ☺️ As the designer of the board, of course I appreciate all the kind words and just wanted to chime in on a few things that I felt I could add here. Thanks!!!

Thanks so much! I 100% agree that the trip would be more comparable to the maze, I’d love to do a comparison between the trip and both of these boards but I can’t justify the price atm, maybe I’ll win one in Le tour de longboard! I did heavily consider putting the boas on the pranayama because like you said it would fit, but I also know that the maze can also fit bigger wheels again so it made sense to keep the smaller wheels with the pranayama and bigger wheels with the maze. I also think that the boas wouldn’t really work with the pranayama because of the lack of grip they have making the benifits of how turny it is more of a negative. Good to know about the expoxy, like I said in the video I suspect it would hold up well to rain but I couldn’t find anything about it on the product page so I didn’t want to jump to conclusions and get it wrong, very good to know for my review of the pranayama! Yea sorry I can’t talk to much about the sliding capabilities of the pranayama :( tkp to me is to sketchy at the moment. When I get more comfortable it’ll probably be around the time to do an updated comparison! Thank you so much for commenting and watching the video, and it’s really good to see the opinion of the board creator! If you have the time also, I’m keen to really improve and get a lot better with my content so if you have any points of the video that you didn’t like or found boring or anything like that I’d love some criticism!

I have the "bigger brothers" of these boards: the Pantheon Trip (and Quest) and the Zenit AB 3.0. The main difference I feel is the platform shape: the Pantheons have a more flatter, but not too flat shape, perfect for pushing, while the Zenit has a shape that holds you more when your feet are parallel,as youbare pumping or maybe sliding it, while less comfortable while pushing. Also, Pantheons have more drop! 😉

Good video! I choose Pantheon because of the perfectionist vibe I always get from the videos and articles. Keep doing board comparisons! First time, second time, and anytime buyers like myself love seeing these to help make the decision on purchasing boards that are $300+

Thanks for the support! I’m glad to hear that’s its helping some people’s decision. For me when I was looking to buy I found that even some riding footage was helpful! I have a pantheon bandito and pranyama comparison in the works so stay tuned…

Btw, I am now bored with the Prana. It is overly stable and accelerates quite slowly. I now instead have a modded Drop Hammer with a total of 7/8" riser pads (they lower the board in drop-through) to match the height of the Pranayama (about 7cm - yeah, metric system scares, sorry), admittedly with slightly smaller wheels (69mm Peralta Snakes instead of 85mm Speed Vents). This setup is more reactive and accelerates quicker while still being city-compatible in rolling over stuff. So, to me, my purpose in riding a longboard is to have fun in the city while covering distances of about 3-15km a day. And I guess that applies to many longboarders. We want to get around town over medium distances in a fun way. :-) The fun part is essential. So something very reactive and quick beats the Prana for this purpose at least in my case, as long as it is comparably low and get's over medium sized obstacles. This being said, I would not be where I am now without the Pranayama. It is such an accessible, ingeniously designed board that makes beginners and intermediates fall in love with skating and I would recommend it to anybody still finding their way into the sport. 🙂

Great comparison video! The Pranayama seems so perfectly engineered for that one setup. I got a zenit AB 3.0 a month ago, loving the RKP/TKP and wheelbase options.

Thanks I appreciate it! Yea the pranayama definitely is but that gives it some massive benefits as well. The AB is a sick board, the carbon fibre in it will make it last way longer then just straight fibre glass as well.

@@sunsdownboardsup If I could justify spending more money I would totally own a Pranayama, I've already got the trucks and wheels for it 😅, eventually I'll cave and buy one.

This is the epitome of a perfect board in for cruising and carving. I use it for LDP and cruising and I put 7km in the city this evening and it was stupendous, as with my original AB (from 7 years ago) to now the AB 2.0 w/unidirectional carbon fiber stringer it much livelier and had enough give to soak up large ruts in Montreal's roads but its in no way a plank of a downhill. It's tough to describe how the board feels but if I had to try I'd say it's expertly balanced in its flex profile and feels spritely er than any board out on the market with what feels like lossless energy return from what you five into it weather it be carving without losing speed or hitting a pothole or bad sidewalk. Most other longboards make it through the pothole or crack in the road but they lose their energy and you slow down a lot this board feels like the equivalent of a hockey stick in the sense that it will Flex when pressure is applied to it and rebound the energy that was giving in if not more than 100%, again truly hard to explain the feeling of the this board! I built it with the New 165mm Paris v3 trucks, orange Orangutang knuckles bushings among with the orange Orangutang Kegals how wheels and Zenit bearings boy ooh boy I could not have asked for made a board better than the way it feels. He's a head turner too! People see and admire it from far and have had 4 people today ask me about it and noticing how effortlessly far I'm going with one measly little push I go about 60-75ft on smooth pavement! Thanks you guus so much for crafting boards of this caliber for the price you guys have your boards at. Genuinely you guy's' boards are so insane they could be 2x the price and I'd buy it again in a heartbeat. If you know how superb this board is then it will always be a a nonregretable desision. You only live once and I want every time I go out to board for it to be as best as it can be. Zenit are the only ones who achieve that. Be sure so ass carbon fiber on the top and unidirectional carbon fiber stringer to stiffen up the board to perfection for commuters and imperfections in the road, without the carbon its still a fantastic board hit some may find it slightly too flexible for them so the carbon additions make this ab 2.0 into a lighter and better ab 3.0 Thanks for reading have a great day! I appreciate it man but I don’t ride for zenit 😂. I’m not sponsored but I hope to be one day! Interesting how you were talking about the carbon fibre, for my personal paths and roads it doesn’t really work the best but depending on where I live that level of customisation would be a massive up side!

I’d say it depends on if you want to push mongo and switch easily, shoe sizes US11+ will have to shuffle a bit which can get annoying on a hill climb. The maze will be a lot more roomy for you, paired with paris tkp and 80mm wheels the ride hight is super similar to the pranyama. If you live on flat and don’t mind riding a smaller board it’ll be fine :)

@@sunsdownboardsup wonderful. Thanks. Live in belgium so basically very flat here. Lots of bad pavements and roads though. Just a little worried the board might be too short and id hate spending that money then. On the other hand i do love the design and the capabilities

I'd say the construction of Zenit boards is superior to Pantheon, but both are very good. I have two boards, both 6 later plywood. The Zenit feels more springy because I was able to add CF stringers whereas the 6 layer Pantheon feels more like it's sagging and CF stringers isn't an option. I do like the edge finishing on the pantheon boards.

Zenit also used a different type of wood veneer in the centre that’s lighter, I find that the pantheon has better geometry if I had to pick one though.
