You can retain the spring when it gets lower than the top segment. Once the spring is compressed enough rotate the top segment 90 degrees which will block the spring and allow you to easily attach your cap back onto the guide rod.

@@Feldmutze It was worth the wait :) Btw, are you considering to upgrade the stock, since there is the issue with chin weld? (I seen that you strapped something to the stock so you can get a cheek weld) The Zenitco stocks are kinda pricey tho.
@Feldmutze
@Feldmutze 3 года назад
@@BloPsy_Actual I'm not planning on purchasing a Zenitco stock at this point but I need to do bit more research first. I did a bit of dry practice with the rifle earlier and I already took the cheek pad on the stock off because then I couldn't get my head down low enough to use the iron sights at all, so currently I'm looking into lower scope mounts. If all else fails I'll just get used to having chin weld when I shoot with the scope since it's just a 5.45.

@@Feldmutze I find the chin weld kinda uncomfortable myself. Maybe some AR butt stock with adjustable cheek rest would be nice :) - but that's just my thoughts. Last question tho - will there be a video about the DTK-1 and RK-6 that we seen at the end of the video?
@Feldmutze

@@BloPsy_Actual I'll take that into consideration, there's a lot of good AR stocks out there. Yes, there'll be videos on the other parts. I'll have the RK-6 grip video uploaded by the same time next week, and the DTK video will be uploaded a few days before Christmas.

There's a trick with that recoil spring. You compress the spring all the way past the first section and slide the top section like a T and it holds the spring in place so you can remove the retainer. My B33 came with allen screws and a chrome allen wrench made in Germany. That's weird they gave you slotted screws
@Feldmutze

Next time I need to remove the recoil spring I'll do that. That is odd. Everything I've ever gotten from Zenitco has always used slotted screws. I wonder if they changed it, did you get your B-33 a while ago or more recently?

If you swap out the SPR mount for traditional rings, you'll be able to get the scope lower. I did a review on optic mounting options for this mount and its B13 counter part. Low or medium 30mm/34mm rings give you a proper cheek weld vs chin.

Never ever file anything Zenitco. Period. Except if your rifle is milled but they specify state that their products are mostly made for stamped rifles. Also degrease every single screw that come with Zenitco products and then, after they're properly degreased and cleaned, apply a generous amount of Loctite. You don't want to Loctite a dirty and greasy screw, it defeats the purpose. Every single screw needs Loctite on them. Vibrations is what makes screws loose, and the AK takes a shitload of vibrations thanks to it's operating mechanism.

@@Feldmutze so I’m brand new to the AK world and want to know what upgrades I can do that are all zentico for my sam7sf. What is this platform based on and is the product you installed compatible? I want to put in their sport 4 kit
@Feldmutze
@Feldmutze 3 года назад
@@cheyenneobregon184 The B-33 is compatible with the Sport-4. However, since the SAM7SF is milled you'll have to do filing on the Sport-4 handguard (and possibly on the B-33 as well) to get it to fit. Zenitco recommends against filing anything, and generally it's a bad idea to file their products, but I've heard of people filing them to make them fit into their milled rifles, so it is possible, just a lot more difficult than on a stamped receiver. Also, I'm a bit unsure of what you mean by what the platform is based on? Do you mean what the B-33 attaches to or?
@cheyenneobregon184
@cheyenneobregon184 3 года назад
@@Feldmutze I was on their website and I know some aks are based off of AKMs and AK 103 platforms etc and have no idea why the sam7 would fall into, I want to build the exact rifle the Russian woman has in her sport kit video with the same stock, so me filing would probably take away from that desert finish I presume?
@Feldmutze
@Feldmutze 3 года назад
@@cheyenneobregon184 Ah gotcha. The closest thing I can think of for what the SAM7 would be based off of would be the original AK-47 since it had a milled receiver but even then that's a bit of a stretch, the SAM7 has a lot of features from all sorts of different AK platforms (90 degree gas block & brake like on an AK-74, right-side folding like on a Type 56-2 or Galil.) To actually answer your question though, yes, filing it would take away the desert finish. However, the parts you'll need to file, at least on the handguard (again not sure if you will even need to file the B-33) will not be showing. So, every part that shows will still have its finish. One more thing, I'm not totally sure on the SAM7 but I don't think a Zenitco stock will fit. Unfortunately their stocks can't be filed to fit, and instead need to have the correct "lock adapter" (may not be the right word) for your specific gun. i.e. a certain lock for regular AKM type of stocks, a different lock for AK-100 or 74M type of rifles.

@Feldmutze
@Feldmutze 3 года назад
The SAM7s all use a milled receiver so Zenitco won't fit on those. You can get Zenit parts to fit but it's a LOT of filing and fitting to get it to work and in my opinion is more trouble trouble it's worth. I'd recommend getting an AK with a stamped receiver for example an Arsenal SLR-107, WASR-10, or other import AK.

Quick question Jang-Gun, I’ve installed Zenitco parts many times on Russian rifles but I’ve got a brand new 104FR I’ve been saving to do something special with so I’m going to go all out with the “alpha” build for this one. My question is did you have to do any major modification to the rifle to make any of the parts fit? I ask this question because I tried to hell a friend install a b30, b31 and b33 on a 107cr and we had issues with every part. The lower handguard retainer was much too small and the rear sight block had strange bumps that forced us to modify the forks coming from the B33. I’ve looked over my 104FR and nothing pops out at me as a major issue but I’d like to hear from someone who has installed these parts on the same rifle I’ll be working on. My parts list is B10M lower handguard, B19N upper handguard and B33 top cover. Any insight would be appreciated, thanks!
@Feldmutze
@Feldmutze 3 года назад
I didn't have to do any modifications to the parts myself. The only part that had any difficulty was this B-33 since I did have to hammer it in, but even then it was easy. Those are some really weird issues with that 107. I've heard of a lot of people having issues getting their Zenit handguards in but never someone having one too small before. I would assume your friend probably just got unlucky and got a bad 107 unfortunately. You'll almost certainly be fine though. I've talked to a lot of other people who've installed Zenit handguards on their SLRs and didn't have issues with fit.

*I did not understand what 107cr is, but apparently this is an analogue of the Russian AK 104 series, if this is so then the B-31 bracket will not suit you, for your weapon with a B-30 long forearm you need a B-31S or B-31L bracket, on AK 104 Russian-made, they get up without any problems! ;-)Here is this bracket on the manufacturer's website* zenitco.ru/catalog/tyuning/kronshteyny_nad_gazovoy_trubkoy/kronshteyn_nad_gazootvodnoy_trubkoy_b_31s/

There's a pretty good chance it will be a loose fit in your rifle, but since every AK has some variance you might get lucky and have it be a tight fit. It would also depend on how much its been filed. Unfortunately, the B-33 won't add any stability to it. With the way Zenitco designed their system it's the B-30U that'd give stability to the B-33 but it won't work the other way around because of how it attaches to the rifle.

Also mt favorite part is the rear peep sight which wvertone says is superior to the old mediocre notch sight. the rear peep improves your sight picture, target acquisition, makes canted sights a non factor, and to me is one of the best inclusions included in the package. and another great feature is that it is the same price as a hi qual side rail!. rven through my resewech switching yoirn rear notch siggt to a peep side gets hreatbresuots and dram omproves the gun. @@Mithradates_of_Los_Angeles No problem, glad I could help. I ordered my B-33 through Ivan Tactical & my B-10 through Outpost Armories. I disagree on the TWS. While different styles of rear sights do work better than the stock AK ones for target acquisition (and accuracy in some cases) I prefer the Zenitco B-33 because it doesn't replace the elevation-adjustable rear iron sight. If a picatinny-mounted adjustable rear iron sight existed for AKs here in the United States that might change my assessment but as of this comment there's no good options for replacement.
