That is irrelevant to me. I just haven't seen him pop-off ever. He is normally super calm and if anything jumps out of his seat for like half a second and that's it. Nigga went in.
The last match of this set makes me so sad, and I love both players. My little bro talked to M2k earlier the day before (he's the random kid who played a sheik ditto with m2k during pools if you watched the stream) he had a bad headache that day. He was taking breaks during finals because his head hurt guys, show some love for the guy who we all love watching, he's earned it 70 times over
Even though M2K didn't win. I felt he still played amazingly. Felt so good to see his Marth back in action. Jason you're not a failure. You're awesome. =)
Can I just say that not only has the play continued to evolve since 2012, but the commentary as well? I feel like today's commentary is a lot more involved and informative.
I feel like commentary has actually declined. Since Melee has grown so much and is officially considered an eSport, commentary has gone from being just a couple players giving their thoughts and reactions in to a completely formal and PG style. I hate it. Every commentator feels the need to explain the game, it's honestly unnecessary. 95% of the viewers know the game and are there for the hype and honestly a lot of commentators ruin that. This commentary is gold, and it honestly should have stayed like this.
My heart sunk at the ending. :-\ I really wanted Mew2King to get the tournament win after how disappointed he was at his performance at Apex 2012. Still, I'm wildly impressed with how he played throughout the tournament, getting some big wins against really good players. Keep up the good work M2K.
I know I'm replying to a 4 month old comment so sorry in advance haha but yeah hey just wanted to say that I'm a really big fan and watching you play really inspires me to be a better player! Don't let one loss get you down. You're an amazing player and you'll always have people rooting for you. Looking forward to watching you again! maybe one day I'll have the chance to play against you too : D
Mewtwo king is such a good player, I always see new stuff from him and learn a lot. PP is pretty good too but I rarely see anything new from him, very text book falco, which is fine cause you lose playing falco any other way.
I think it was because he beat M2K on FD for the tournament win. Remember on earlier matches, every time M2K took him to FD after he got JV4'ed, PP switched to Marth. I guess PP really dislikes fighting M2K on FD with Falco and with good reason. He sucked it up and completely dominated. I would have been just as pumped lol.
Props to both players! Dr. PeePee, phenomenal showing nothing more needs to be said. Mew2king, I haven't been playing smash for very long but you were one of the first Pro smashers I've followed. You do what you do best No title is worth that. As long as you keep playing and improving you'll still have scrub fans like me who watch. Heroes are not always honored, but they are recognized. Have fun!
The stream and the crowd were, from what I saw, almost entirely rooting for you. You may have lost the set, but you won the audience's hearts. Please don't let this sway your confidence, we all know you've got this next time.
Check out their Apex commentary. They're beast commentators. When there's lots of hype, it's hard to give technical commentary when youre so focused on the match.
PP could have been a bit more mature after that win but still props to him. As for you, dont beat yourself up man... do you realize your probably the best overall smash player in history? no one has ever been at the top of 2 of the smash games like you have. also, your the only melee player who has remained in the top 5 in the country since the ken era. you played really well here, keep working hard and we'll see the return of mew2king! just because your not the best doesnt mean your not amazing
Also, kevin is one stand up guy. Last seconds of video "Thanks for all the hard work you do commentating" A true southern gentleman. >>2012 - PP Takes over the world.
Yes I saw that... But he seems to lose on FD more then other stages. When he wins it seems one sided, but it seems like he wins a smaller % of matches played on FD then other stages.
It wasn't against the rules. He lost to M2K on Stadium the first time, so he was allowed to choose it again. The rule is you're not allowed to counter-pick on the stage you last -won- on.
That's another possible reason. Again, I'm not really arguing about whether he was intentionally playing the worst I've seen him play against PP. But I've never seen M2K systematically fail to fight back like he does from 16:50 to 16:57.
When it comes down to clutch M2K wins when he shouldn't and loses when he should win. Is something I've noticed about him. When the stakes are on the line against PP he loses on FD. But I know M2K is godlike on FD, I just truly believe it doesn't work out for him on FD vs PP, but w/e.
Yeah, I meant to say "legitimately". While DSR is basically always enforced, he simply wouldn't have checked if he already knew it was. M2K wasn't try to disrespect PP, he was trying to beat PP. Why wouldn't you ask a TO a question if him answering a particular way would win you a large sum of money?
Because he's great at the game and fun to watch... the fact that a bunch of children who have never met him despise him for some stupid reason or another is just a bonus reason to be a fan. Did you have the same criticism for PeePee sulking after losing to Javi at Apex 2012? Emotions run high at the highest level of competition and I'm more than willing to give someone a pass after receiving a particularly disappointing defeat.
He wasn't playing his A game, but doesn't mean he wasn't trying Hell, he was starting to make a come back before he got put down Normally m2k would just quit out when he's down 3 stocks, but this time around he stuck to the match like a champ
He played for his last stock after apparently only touching his controller once for two, yes. You can nitpick about that last stock, but like I said, if you think M2K's second and third stocks are examples of him trying, then you are doing a huge disservice to how M2K plays when he tries.
