More D-Tone served up hot for you. The Tanabe Zenkudo has been a force of nature for years. I finally got my hands on one. See what you think of my first run with it. Controls and features are explained after playing demo. (NOTE-**The Tanabe site calls Green Mode Dumble and Blue Mode Zenkudo. Red is still Marshall** sorry for the confusion)

Great tones brother. I like this Zenkudo vs. the Dumkudo. Sounds more open, less compressed and less fizzy. Enjoyed your video. oNe LovE from NYC

Best video on you-tube of this particular pedal thank you.! Most Tanabe vids seem to be of the higher gain Dumkudo. Nice pedal this Zenkudo and have been considering one myself. Cheers

Thanks so much for checking it out and commenting. It’s a great pedal with lots tones in it. The higher headroom gets you really close to the D territory.

Great demo, thanks! I have a dual zenkudo/dumkudo coming as I like to switch between HB and SC. First dumble style pedal for me...just wanted to try something different and like the sound.

I liked the clean tone w/o the pedal. I never can get such a clean thru my expensive es335 clone. Looks like a cheap Ampeg amp in the video. My problem is too much ice picks, harsh shrill trebles, and booming kabooms. I wonder what I am missing with my amp choices.

Get a Barber Gain Changer SR and set-it-for Low gain / edge of breakup. Best pedal I have ever owned. Super underrated.

I thought Robben Ford was associated with Hermida Audio' Zen Drive; which is now manufactured by Love Pedals.

He’s associated with several of them. I don’t believe he’s currently using these at all. Great Dumble type tone though.

Robben did use the Tanabe Dumkudo for a period. Larry Carlton has used the Tanabe Zenkudo & Dumkudo. Several of the hotshot players like Lee Ritenour even uses these.

I haven’t tried that with it before. I have used an Ethos Overdrive in that way.

Your playing is superb! The pedal is nice but your playing is the show stealer here. And at the prices this pedal is going for makes a person consider a dumble clone amp instead! Just about the same price!

Thanks so much. Yes, I agree the costs of some of these are astronomical. I think if you purchase directly from Tanabe it can be had for $280. But yes, that’s a lot for a pedal. The supply and demand used pedal market is out of hand. It’s the same scenario as the analog man KOT or others. That vht d50 head can be had in the $700+ range so you’re not far off😊
