Welcome to Zentangle Project Pack No. 16 and the 2021 Twelve Days of Zentangle series!
Tangle along with Maria as she and Rick guide you through the 5th lesson in the Project Pack No. 16 series.
You can view the introduction video to this series here: • Zentangle Project Pack...
It has become an annual Zentangle tradition for us to celebrate the holiday season with a series we call The Twelve Days of Zentangle. For twelve consecutive days, we will deliver daily tangling lessons, guiding you through the steps to create festive tangled works of art that are all part of the same theme.
This Zentangle series offers us a moment to pause and reflect on the past year. As the year unfolded, we hope you were able to lean on your Zentangle practice and focus on the beautiful things that came through. Together we will in-crease our skills while navigating this part of our journey one stroke at a time. In this year-end series, we will be looking closely between the layers and folds of our Zentangle practice. As we score some new tools for our tangling toolbox, we will dig into some creative, tangled ways to celebrate and illuminate your Zentangle art. We will work with dimensionality and play with illusions.
Upload your work to the Zentangle Mosaic App or other social media with the hashtag #PP16Day05 and #12DaysofZentangle2021

If you want the tip of your tool to glide easily rub it against a candle it will make things much easier when scoring the paper

Because I've enjoyed drawing tangles since January of 2012, and I really like watching Rick and Maria in these videos---but simply cannot afford the materials anymore (I'm well stocked with excellent drawing supplies as far as pens, gel pens and tortillons go, though), I use whatever I can find to draw ON. I often cut up and utilize such things as (the inside surfaces of) bandage packages, butter boxes, even very heavy boxes that nitrile gloves come in. The surfaces aren't as nice as the wonderful papers used in the Zentangle packs, but when it comes to drawing, I'm not going to let a small budget get in my way! The use of Knightsbridge always makes me think of the delightful line of McKenzie-Childs home furnishings and homewares....far too expensive for me to buy, but oh, how I love looking at them and dreaming of perhaps someday owning just one or two pieces.

Many years ago people were hard pressed to buy paper for drawing. So that is when paper bag drawings were popular. I tried it and was pleased with the outcome. White highlights really stand out.

Another beautiful PP16 project. Always a privilege to be able to draw along with you, Maria, and the rest of the Z family. Drawing Zentangle has added such fun, beauty, and vital creative energy to my life over the past nine years. Many thanks, you guys!

I absolutely love how generous you are with your tutorials, and I love how you encourage us to just use what we have . In Australia, almost impossible to get the packs . Thank you both again ☺️

Very pretty! & I can imagine a million variations on this. Just got around to watching this as there was no electricity for 28 1/2 hrs. There is a wood stove. There was an enormous amount of snow shoveling. All is well.

Beautiful project. If you rub the ball of your embossing tool in the crease of your nose it will allow the natural oils to help the ball tool glide better on you tile. Love your tutorials. Annette North wales UK

Wonderful! To me the combination light/dark in the stripe, near the "dome" reminds me of a circus tent :) Happy times :) Checkered cloth doesn't resonate the same for me, but vertical stripes yes :) Thank you, teachers!
