Wow she is a magnificent, beautiful horse and what a sweet temperament. You don’t see to many race horses with a sweet disposition like her. That just makes her all the more special. My 2 favorite horses Ruffian and Zenyatta.
She is such a beautiful majestic girl, and I am so glad she has owners who treat her like a Queen. And I love her trainer, you can tell he truly cares about her. You can tell she has Secretariat in her genes, She poses for pictures just like he did. So very sorry she just lost her second War Front baby. Hope she gets to have another little girl ,like Z-Princess, I bet she is in Heaven watching over her new baby brother, her full brother.
Wednesday Riding, I am a major Ruffian fan myself but I am not rude, ZENYATTAS record speaks all by itself. 19 wins out of 20,that is AMAZING, ZENYATTA IS ONE OF THE GREATEST.
She is an angel from heaven, and all of her entourage treat her that way, that is why she is so loved, because her owners and trainer from the beginning loved her and did not treat her as a money ticket. That is why we have loved everyone to do with her from the beginning and that is why she is so special, God Bless Ann and Jerry Moss, and Dottie and John Shirreffs, and all of her beautiful walkers, and handlers of her. Your love did not go unnoticed. Thank you for the beautiful memories.
This just brought tears to my eyes with the way Mrs. Moss and her friends were talking to Zenyatta "Hi big girl! Hi sweetheart!" I am very thankful that you all shared her with us and hope that you can find a way to continue to share her with us in her new career. Thank you!
Thank you for posting your intimate insider video, It's comforting to see how well Zenyatta is treated, and obvious why she is such a champion, as she is always asked and never told what to do. She is so smart, sane and has the physical gifts, but it is the people around her who have allowed her to be so successful. Much like the team who sent Secretariat to superstar status, Zenyattas team of people are seeing her into superstardom.
@jrg1948 I agree. I hope that they will continue to share her with us. They need to install a farm cam so we can go online and watch her daily. I would like her to retire in CA so she will be close to Jerry, Ann and John and Dottie. I can't imaging having her that far away if she were mine.
I love Zenyatta, she's a beautful girl, no doubt, and I wish her the best, but don't tell me there is ANY reason to put that curb chain IN her mouth when she was walking out of the trailer... I'm sure you would be calm too if you had a chain in your mouth that could be pulled at any time if you happened to move the wrong way or act a little unruly...thus causing pain.... thank goodness it's her last race and won't have to endure the horrors of horse racing ever again. @hannahalexismommy She always has cotton in her ears, common for sensitive horses to reduce their auditory input, commonly seen in racehorses and show jumping horses.
It is abuse to put a chain bit in the horses mouth and you can see it in the video and Zenyatta does not like it and it is cruel to do it and then they take it out but she is the best horse ever
You're a dumbass, she would drag you halfway down the road if you didnt have a chain in her mouth. This is a strong powerful racehorse, not a dumb show pony.
Thank you, Mrs. Ann Moss, for taking this video and for sharing it with Zenyatta's fans. It's been so wonderful to see these "home videos" throughout her career. I've watched them many times, and still can't seem to find the words to adequately describe how crazy I am about this horse. It's a feeling that defies description I guess. I hope she's back safe at home at Hollywood Park by now. I can only imagine what it will be like for Team Z when it's time for the Queen to retire in KY. Tears!
I just wanted to say that to me Zenyatta is still the Queen, and I want to thank everybody working with her for sharing all of this with us. Zenyatta will always be able to make me smile :)
Cant even say enough wonderful things about her...she is a GOD ....love her so much. Im so glad they are giving her a year off from motherhood to rest. She deserves it!

You ran for all of us, not just your owners your jockey and trainers and handlers. You wanted us all to see the "ZEN" in you. Thank you for teaching me Zenny I saw in you it was not winning the race that mattered it was how you raced that mattered. Some even called you God's horse, God keep your Zenny in your protection and surround her with love and kindness the rest of her life. Thank you for sharing Zenny with all of us. When we all needed her most.
No matter what numbers are reflected in history books or racing ledgers about you Zenny, won't matter. I pray that what history will say of you and your legacy will be, what it took to get there. That it shows that big Heart you had, your determination and strength, the fight you had in you to get to the finish line. I hope that history will also show your jockey Mike, was a noble and loyal friend to you, as any knight in any king's army, he loved you so very much.
I am sure that you all did not ever contemplate the lessons that she would teach you on your journey with her. I believe God choose all of you to be in her life. You will all take with you, moments that Zenny gave you, the ones when their was no cameras or videos around, those special moments when it was just you and Zenny, the look she gave you, watching her sleep, eat or just running like the wind, or pawing at the ground.
You may count me out and bet against me I will have challenges before me, but I am determined to be the head of the pack. I will get there under my own terms at my own pace. Believe in me or not, win or lose, but I will get there. Animals choose us we don't choose them. Zenyatta choose all of you to help her, get tthere. To help her become and show the world I AM ZENYATTA. She needed all of you to help her, encourage her, watch her grow and especially LOVE her.
Your pace in life may not be the pace that others want for you and maybe not the one you choose for yourself, but want counts most is just getting there. To your own Finish line whether real or invisible, at your own pace under your own terms. Thank you Zenny for teaching me these things and more. I believe Zenny wanted to show us I AM ZENYATTA. I will dance and pose, I will make you laugh and cry.
Against males or females made no difference she was determined to be the head of the pack, to just get there! The finish line is irrelevant and invisible, it's not whether you win or lose. It's what it took to get there. Well she showed all of us what it took to "GET THERE." It took determination, strength, confidence, stamina, faith and a big heart. As long as the Race is still on we all still have a chance, just don't give up.
Let us ALL, not forget the "ZEN" to Zenyatta. What I think she was trying to teach us was this. You may start out last, you may be counted out and bet against to fail. You may find before you, unsurmountable odds, you may think that you started out to late and will never catch up and to try to get in the race now, would not futile. Zenny, knew that she had to be the head of the pack, that she had to get there.
Dear John and Dottie, the Moss family, Mike, Mario and everyone associated with Zenyatta, Let me tell you about what Zenny meant to me. Zenny gave me hope and a belief in something, she made me forget my troubles for a moment and think about something else. She gave a hurting nation in a tough recession something to believe in, something to hope for and to put their worries on pause for a moment.
JS, after last year's BCC you said "what a great filly...just don't see it" We don't see it because people get great horses and run them into the ground. Zenyatta is who she is because of you, Mrs.S., the Mosses, Steve, Mario, Mike and so many who love her so much. When God sent us his best he couldn't very well not give her the best family...right? Thank you for the best 3 years of my life. Guardian angels on Zenny and Mike's shoulders tomorrow. Safe trip all. Tell Zenny how much I love her:)
Wow! Zenyatta's van is fabulous---transport truly fit for a Queen (which she is)! Thank you so much, Ann Moss, for this super video. I felt as if I were right there, welcoming Zenyatta to Kentucky and her temprary home at Churchill. Thank you, Ann and Jerrry Moss, Dottie and John Shirreffs, Mario, Steve, Michelle, and all of the Zenyatta team heroes who love and cherish Zenyatta, and have given her the freedom to develop into the extraordinarily happy and gentle horse which she has become.
Regardless of what the results of today's race may have been, she truly is a horse that will never be forgotten. She has gone down in the books as one of, if not THE greatest female racehorse in the world. She showed the boys and the world that she is capable of beating whomever she pleases, all 1200 pounds, 17.5 hands of her. We'll miss you Zenyatta. Long live the Queen.
Good luck, Zenyatta. If you win, that is wonderful. If you lose, come back to California and still be safe and sound. Regardless, you have made many people proud with all the races you have run over your whole career.
It's going to be a tough test for Zenyatta. I hope "big girl" can do it and prove all her detractors wrong - but whatever happens, the main thing is that she come back safely.

Zenyatta she has a lot of fans a lot of people loved her when she was racing and I'm pretty sure they still love her and miss her. I love her and I miss her racing I have her in her first colt as Breyer models.
I just want to thank you all for giving us a glimpse into the wonderfulness that is Zenyatta, and her team. You guys did great, and thank you so much for allowing us to be part of it. And the best news of all: she retires sound! Keep up the great work! and I hope we can still be along sometimes.
John, you have no idea how much Zenyatta's fans appreciate how you keep us in mind, and share your moments with this great mare with us. Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness. Horses that you are train are sooo lucky. Please tell Ann Moss that I admire her love for this horse. Her love for this horse is so evident in her interviews and the way she speaks to her. I love my 10 rescue horses, (several OT TB's also) as much as she loves this magnificent mare. You are one of a kind.
Thank you John for posting this! Best of the lot online, and up close and personal. I hope she and Mike have the wings of angels with them on Saturday! Thank you for being so gracious to me and the rest of our group who visited Zenny on Oct. 1 - you are to be commended for your openness with the big mare. It is not unappreciated, and ranks as a pinnacle in my 60-yo life. Win or lose on Saturday, she will forever be our Queen, and my highest regard goes to you as a person and trainer!
