Thank you for showing the sign from Chamonix, which shows the glacier receding from 1820, before the "Industrial Age". The glaciers in the Alps have been receding since the Little Ice Age. In the warm periods during the Middle Ages and the Roman optimum there were hardly any glaciers in the Alps.

This was happening on the Ventina track from Testa Grigia to Cime Bianche in the Cervinia Resort (Italy), not in Zermatt !! And with remodeling work like this, this part of the glacier may last a little longer than the non-touched parts !!

Nota Bene: all the images shown in this video were taken on the Valtournenche glacier in Italy, not in Zermatt.

It is unbelievable that they are doing that. Too many times we are turning things upside down in nature just for a few bucks in someone's pocket. Keep up the great video's. Cheers

100% agree with you mate, I doubt you will find a single skier that would say this is a good idea so how it got approved is beyond me. I'm stunned also as I thought the swiss were known for their alpine culture and this completely goes against respecting the mountain environment.

Hard to really see the extent of what they are doing from these pictures though, if they are just leveling it and make it smoother then maybe that isn't a big deal, but if they are actually destroying it then yeah, I would oppose that. They should just do the race in December instead.

So the pictures and footage isn't from the place described as Zermatt in this video? Why on earth didnt the producer use pics and footage from Zermatt if there are such destruction of the glacier? Is this yet another bullshit make up story? If so, it's just as bad or worse as if the story were true. Badassery!
