This compound has been built three times. Once for osama, a second time in *North Carolina for the seals to practice in, and a third for the set of the movie about it.
Kathryn Bigelow is one of those directors that makes really good movies. Zero Dark Thirty is one of my favorites as the story isn't just about the raid but the backstory including the Company and Seal Team involvement. Great movie and story.
I work in film and television, I do prep in the locations department which means I watch the set dec team do their work all day (and tell them where they can and cannot put holes in walls and remind them about felts on the furniture). It's actually become something I get distracted by if it's poorly done because of how much time I spend watching it happen. The set dec on this film was perfect.
What's even more impressive are the intelligence officers that recreated this structure for the operators to train in. They made a perfect replica and all they had to go off of was ISR footage and satellite pictures. That's nuts.
Yep and one of the forst doors they tried to breach was actually fake. Behind the door was just a cinder block wall. So they actually had to find a different door to breach.
ISF footage and satellite photo's ...... incredible job. Normally replicas would be made from video footage and other pictures and images so this is really mind boggling. in fact .... nuts! ; )
Even when you walk to the third floor you see an SAS NPC shooting another Al-Qatala NPC, that scene is from where a SEAL shoot one of Bin Laden son's. Something that this movie also have in this scene
@@josepedrosilva3265 yup, I ve seen the movie, then i tried CoD. In the start where guy shot through the door and SAS Guy shot back, i was like: this was in ZDT When that guy on stairs showed up and agent shot him, I was definitely sure this is a remake. +when you look on the map of the 1st floor (in this vid) it is completely same with floor in cod
it is also impossible that in presence of so many military satellite in space ... Osama run from Afghanistan and entered in Pakistan and American with all their latest technology remaind fail to capture him for several years ...
Bigelow should direct all future tactical-action films from now on. She seems to want utmost realism, and willing to listen to the experts and consultants without trying to add "artistic license" like the rest of Hollywood. Hurt Locker was also really well made.
Clint Eastwood is Excellent at this too! In his movie American Sniper, it is one of the few that the vehicles change from M998 unarmored, or "hillbilly armor" to M1114s, to MRAPs, and the soldiers, Marines and SEALs go from DCU, to ACU MBD to Multi-Cam! Proper weapons, tactics, and Techniques!

I love watching Zero Dark Thirty. I've watched it probably 10 times. This behind the scenes look makes it that much more appealing. Wish I could have been part of the production crew.
Fascinating that someone who has access to money still lives in such squalid conditions. They don't seem to have had any sort of culture. Kudos to the film crew and all the people involved who reconstructed this. great job
During the raid...I still don't understand how Bin Laden didn't hear a helicopter crashing and explosions of doors going on everywhere. Yet I'm not some special ops dude.
I absolutely love that he spent the last year's of his life stuck in a prison of his own making. He had to know that his time was coming and it was only a matter of time. Like Hitler in his feururbunker with the commies closing in around him
The attention to detail is so nice and they actually cared to make it a full sized working replica to give the film the natural look and the place where it was shot in Jordan is also very much similar to Abbottabad, Pakistan and in Punjab, India. During the shooting in Punjab, protesters gathered around the sets and chanted slogans against filming and use of Pakistan flag so the local police was called in and they filed under heavy security and even had to pay some money to the local businesses because the protesters vandalized shops and stalls around the location of the film shoot.
An awesome film!!!! Very intense and edge-of-your-seat. I never get tired of watching this, and find new things about the interrogations that help lead up to the final scene.
During the disputes in kashmir, Americans were like we are ready to help Pakistan rather than India. But little they know their biggest enemy was protected as king by the Pakistan military... The greatest nation was fooled by the Pakistan.
@Maduwa Sinera no one can even dare to look at U.S. considering its power... and military... if someone somehow does this....this time not only the terrorists group will be destroyed but the country(most probably pakistan and afghanistan) which is supporting in providing a hideout place will also be demolished.....and to many extent.....
I'm wondering who the rich guy is that has had this compound re-created on his property. The Brady house has been replicated down to the fake grass in the backyard.
Still amazing today In 2022 we’ll shot great acting and directing also, salute to the art team and the builders who constructed these sets great movie.🔥🔥
i love how they hype it up too, bro lived in aa shithole house because it was harder to penetrate, he lived like a cockroach for the last like 8 years of his life it was so funny
@@MuhammadYousaf-yf2pg oh yeah? His purpose will die, just like him. All the hatred you people have for non Mus lims... And then you've the nerve to cry "islame-ophobia". It's a good thing that people are now aware and know the reality of this violent ideology.
@@kairos116 Kai Ros no you are mistaken my dear, we never hate non-Muslims....we love you very much. In fact, it is we who are facing hate and genocide around the world let it be Iraq, Palestine, Syria, Lybia, Afghanistan. Not in the score, hundreds, or thousands for that matter but in millions. and it is not the history of the distant past but what is happening now or just happened in the recent past! Do you have reason to disagree?
The movie was being shot in my City.. till some blind religionists raised chaos on the name of Pakistani Boards... Then the crew packed & moved from here
@@amywinter9453 They did what they always do in India. Protests without a good & reasonable cause. It was creating opportunities of employment for locals, but the local politicians hindered the shooting
@@regularguy9219 not every raid is slow, you can be both slow and methodical, that's what Tier 1 units bring to the table. It all comes down to mission requirements and intel available.
Always think about what we would see and know if phones with cameras were what they're like now. Insane being in 1st grade watching this on TV not fully understanding it sadly. Now im 30 looking back
If this is a ‘real’ question...Open source in the world of intel generally means information obtained from the internet, or a media source that any individual can access freely. In years way back that might be parish records, the library etc...The internet has blown this all up massively. You’d be surprised how much you can find out about an individual via Facebook etc...no hacking just stuff they post that considering what they are doing they should not. In this instance the chap was talking about footage released showing the inside of the compound after the incident. I believe journalists were allowed in afterwards as well as footage from the assault itself. Once that’s officially released it becomes open source.
