Thank you for your patience. Finally I finished the second part of my review. I want to share with you my experience with this fabulous bike after riding it for one year now and answer a lot of questions I was asked over the last months. I am not paid by Zero. I do it because the bike is awesome.

Great review of the Zero motorcycle. I have watched about two dozen reviews so far an this is the FIRST one I have seen about the Battery Bridge. Good to know.

Great video once again my friend. After one year I have commuted a good 15km per direction and "burned" around Vancouver to the tune of 4500 kms! I am almost ready for my second dealership visit and am thankful it's only a few kms from my work. I agree that I can't really see myself going back to ICE. I still have a WR250F for off road only, but will soon sell it as the maintenance is annoying and it isn't as comfy. I will simply do soft off-road without the chain kit and enjoy the scenery. You helped sell me this bike (as well as a Nexx helmet with Sena com) and m happy with my decision after one year. With my Google pixel phone assistant I can send voice texts and get info without even lifting hands off the steering! Very cool feeling. Cheers!

Thank you. The W12 is really a beast. It has all options incl. fax, fridge, electric table... . 10 years old it did not loose any of its fascination and at 180km/h it is inside significantly more quiet than a Tesla model S. I was thinking about doing a review for this great car. You will get a lot of bang for the buck if you buy a used one, as they suffer from a brutal depreciation. Tesla offered me ridiculous 11.000€ for the car. :)))). Reading your name you must have serbian/ croatian roots ;).

Thank you for posting this video. I keep thinking about other vehicles, or putting a powerful engine in one of my trucks, but for the same money, I can get this really cool motorcycle. Do your gas-powered motorcycles feel obsolete now?
@lilglopictures2943
@lilglopictures2943 7 лет назад
Well, I love the look of my V-Rod and the sound is incredible but since last summer it is standing untouched in the garage. The simplicity of riding the Zero makes me prefer it everytime I have to decide which one to take.
@Dr_Xyzt

I think it's settled then, I'm gonna have to get one. I had a 450CC ATV that ran great. It revved to 10500 RPM, but I had to shim the valves every two months. $12/Quart oil was irritating. It was 127 DB at full throttle and that always got me in trouble. I've been riding since 1992, and these Zero bikes seem so awesome just because they're so different.

UK speed limits are 113 kph (70 mph) on dual carriageways and motorways. 96.5 kph (60 mph) on most A & B roads unless otherwise indicated. In reality a lot of vehicles seem to travel at 130kph (unless followed by police cars). So being able to overtake at 130 kph (80+ mph) is a plus in terms of safety. Personally I am thinking of the smaller lanes and roads in South West England and like you as I second bike to my Triumph; but I suspect the FX would get used more for fun and short trips. Have you taken a pillion on the back? I enjoyed your relaxed mature review. Better than s9me of whooping and hollering you get in test drives... thanks.
@lilglopictures2943
@lilglopictures2943 5 лет назад
Thank you for your kind comment. Yes I had my daughters on the back as well as my wife. Make sure your pillion holds tight, as usually they don´t expect such acceleration without any noise. The FX is perfect for the city. For longer distance take your Triumph ;-)

have you noticed any battery life degradation over 1 year?
@lilglopictures2943
@lilglopictures2943 7 лет назад
No. Range is still the same. In the beginning Zero recommended to always keep the battery charging when the bike is not in use. Now they changed the recommendation and say that you should use the battery down to 30-40% and the recharge it. For long time standing they recommend to keep the charge over 40% but there is no need to charge it all the time.
@salami99
@salami99 5 лет назад
@@lilglopictures2943 Usually store it at 50 for long times of no use. And charging at 40 is the rule for ALL batteries.

btw., interesting you didnt do / go to service. the manual of the new FXS says you gotta go like 5 times in the first 2 years (every 6 month + first one after 1k km). - each service usually takes a day, according to my dealer.

would you upgrade anything like brakes or shocks? or are they fine as they are?
@lilglopictures2943
@lilglopictures2943 6 лет назад
I have no experience in offroad riding, so I can´t tell if the shocks need an upgrade. However the front brake could be better. If there would not be the braking power of the engine, which you can accomodate to your needs, the front brakes seem too weak in my opinion. However you won´t have to decelerate it down from over 100mls/h, neither you will find yourself racing on a track with the FX. So, no need to change anything looking at the purpose the FX is build for.

Great video! Can you elaborate just a bit on driving with only one battery module? What does less power mean? Does the battery overheat easier, so the bike doesn't go as fast for as long? Is this noticable if you are only riding a round town and not going too fast anyways?
@lilglopictures2943
@lilglopictures2943 6 лет назад
Around town it shouldn´t be a problem. The torque for taking off at the traffic light will stay the same, but when you hit the throttle during driving the controller will cut down the power noticable at wide open throttle to protect the battery. Long story short: same torque, less hp, less range. For city speeds not that difference after all.

What about storing it away over winter? Do I need to worry about battery depletion?
@lilglopictures2943
@lilglopictures2943 2 года назад
No problem at all. Try to store it with battery level at around 70%. That's the best level to store Lithium batteries. Normally it keeps the level during winter, or looses some percent. It should not be stored fully loaded or under 40%. I wouldn't worry about battery too much. They keep their capacity for a long time. And even if they are gone after a couple of years replacement shouldn't be a problem.

Hi. Just sold it yesterday. As soon as I find time I will do a little summary video. I was happy with it until the end (3700km). I never had any issue. Changed break fluid once and was once to the service for a firmware update. What I like in comparison to the newer models is the removable batteries that will make changing them to new ones in the far future pretty easy. On the other hand the advantage of the newer models is that you can do the firmware update yourself with the app. Looking at the life expectance of the batteries I would go with a newer model, as you probably will sell it for another one, before you reach the end of the battery. Btw. I bought another Zero 😉

Would this make a good commute bike in all weather?
@lilglopictures2943
@lilglopictures2943 6 лет назад
Sure. Especially for short distances. No cold engine wear, no chain lubrication. The only thing you might miss in winter is the missing warmth from a combustion engine. However I don’t use it in winter due to tons of salt on the street even if it has snowed just a bit. Be careful with the throttle on wet ground. 10 mls should be no problem. It depends how fast you ride. At 60 mph you should easily get to work and back. I think even at full throttle it should work, but I never tried.
