Markus nice video!!!. Just remember one important thing. The legatos are MULTI-VELOCITY. For example, the Syllable True Legato, you need to play softly to trigger the legato syllables. The same goes for the other legatos. You're always playing with a very high velocity, there two layers, soft velocity, hard velocity. Take a look at my video walkthrough. Thanks for the nice review ! 🙂
Thanks Stefano! I do remember this, I just think I have this ingrained concern I'll miss the legato transitions, and somehow firmly playing has remedied that for the most part 😁 Rarely though I still don't seem to trigger the legato transition although I'm pretty sure notes did overlap. Maybe I'm missing something. On the Syllable True Legato I completely missed the ball on that though!! I just played a bit more to test the difference in the legato when controlling for velocity, and it's a tremendous additional layer of control and texture you get. On Ethera 2.0 I spent a lot of time adjusting the velocities in the MIDI editor so that I could trigger the right things under the hood. I still have flashbacks to those sessions.. It got intense.. 😁
Ehehe, yes, I understand. From Ethera 2, there has been quite a journey. The True Legato in the Gold series is vastly improved. And the multi-layer (when available) offers you the ability to choose a different legato (with an ornament, a stronger and more expressive transition, or a softer one). In the case of the True Legato syllables, if you play gently, you activate the syllables in the transitions, which is pretty cool. As for the noise you hear in the polyphonic chants, that's a minor Kontakt bug, which means you're trying to sustain a phrase that has ended. The chants need to be understood a bit. The trick to playing them well is to follow the flow of the phrase as you play, and when the phrase is metrically complete, you stop. At that point, you can either change the phrase with a keyswitch, or if you want, you can re-play the same one. This is explained in the Walkthrough video. This applies to all polyphonic chants, including those in Prometheus. Many Thanks Mate! Yohh @@MarkusJunnikkala
Hello and thanks for your great videos, you're the one who made me discover the Ethera serie ! Just to mention that I have had the same problem as you with the phonem builder but I thought it was my computer because I was playing multi intruments in Kontakt.
Amazing! Happy you found this gem of a vocal lineup. Sucks to hear about the phoneme builder, not quite sure what's going on there. Could also be an M1 Rosetta thing since NI isn't quite done with apple silicon, I don't think at least.
@@MarkusJunnikkala Yes, really gratefuI for that, I'm sucker of good vocal librarys :). I don't think the problem comes from the Apple stuff bercause personnaly I play on PC (maybe not enought RAM ? I have 32Go, not bad but not the best).
It is ridiculously good value. As mentioned in the demo, the Hybrid Vocal engine could easily be a stand-alone product with a similar price. They deserve all the love!
