The white DSR/X is Pearl White, but we'll consider Frosty Ghost as a new color name in the years to come. 🤣 Thanks for joining us in Park City, Jordan, and for the great review!
Thanks for the great review. I currently ride the DSR Blackforest with the charge tank. £24k is a bit steep. You mentioned the turn signals and I agree in 2022 / 2023, these should be LED. Another issue I have is the wheels, I think the spokes should be standard and the cast alloys as an option. You can never say never but I think I will hold onto my DSR Blackforest for a while..
Nice review, thanks! Got one on order (in transit!) - can't wait. Love my '17 DSR (13kWh battery), just took it on a 950km round trip over 3 days, from torrential rain through to sunshine with no issues, but charging was a chore because the range isn't amazing. With this, faster charging (I also love L2 - my 950km trip cost a dollar, because pretty much everywhere was free, which is not a thing with CCS), more range, nice wind protection, the upgrade I have been waiting for indeed. Might put Goodyear Trailmax Missions on it though - have them on my DSR and they work brilliantly on and off road, and after 5000km this year there's hardly any wear...
I may be an anomaly since I went from gas to electric and back to gas. Ridden and raced for 35 years, off-road (Barstow to Vegas twice), and finally road racing. Bought a Zero DSR with Charge Tank and rode it for a few thousand miles, charging both at home as well as on the road at level 2 charge stations. Loved much about the bike, the silence, lack of regular maintenance, torque, etc. Waited to see what the DSR/X and Energica Experia would produce. Both of those models are about the same price and when I found a few things with both that disappointed me (lack of range, lack of semi-active suspension adjustment, etc.) I started to research ICE bikes. Decided to trade in my DSR for a 2022 Ducati Multistrada V4S Sport. Yes, it's an ICE bike, but the useful features on it COMPLETELY ECLIPSE both the Zero and Energica. I write for Web Bike World and will be submitting my owner's review in the next few months. Would I return to EV? In a heartbeat, but the charging infrastructure here in California must improve (and we are one of the best states for EV charging!) and EV bikes must incorporate features I now so appreciate on the Ducati. Feature for feature the Duck is in the same price bracket as both the DSR/X and Experia. Yes in the long term the price of fuel and maintenance is less on an EV than an ICE bike, but I don't have years to realize an ROI. I don't ride for ROI, but for pure pleasure, and I'm experiencing that pleasure in gobs of time.
Glad to see that zero has actually updated a model, although it seems they are updating everything to the new SR platform. I think lack of CCS is a mistake. I get that most secluded areas are L2 heavy, which is great, but most riders on BDRs take the highway to get to trail locations - unless they update the architecture, zero won’t be relevant in a few years time. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Sub’d
@@theredmonkey as far as I understand it, it’s the battery architecture that prevents zero from going to DC fast charging, event though they are high voltage batteries
Just looking around, it seems like pretty much all of the electric motorcycles are in the sport style. Does anyone know if there are any cruiser style in the works from any of these companies?
Zero is really the only electric mass market motorcycle I know Harley but not that wide scale.. sondors metacycle is a JOKE I really wish there was more "competition"
