I always respected and loved watching and listening to The Sonic Boom and J-Settes. This is coming from a NCAT Aggie Supporter from Greensboro. I been fan since 2001.
Yea can honestly say JSU got they lick back from the SWAC championship last season. Maybe it’s the camera but SU should sound more powerful than they do

THIS SU hasn't been the same since haymer got fired Simmons was holding them down for awhile but as soon as he left it's been different not only can you hear it but you can feel the differences it's sad truly I've been rocking witch SU since 2005 man it sad to see them today
Stop making excuses for JSU. That's their entire band against SU. They biggest rivalry game (band). U asked why 30 tubas, because they (SU) can. Besides theirs, a lot of kids all over the world. Who wants to play for Southern University HBCU 💙💛💙💛
I think even Jukebox fans would agree the song at 16:26 needs to immediately be put to bed. Love Kenneth Collins’ work but that’s clearly not a SU-quality arrangement.

I normally don’t have too much to say negatively about the dog team, but that bass line that walks down around 29:00 was suspect af😮😮😮😮 it’s Thee I Love all day but um pull y’all shyt together
This was a very dry battle. I give Southern the slight W. Jsu sound too good to be playing those old mediocre songs. If you're gonna pull something out from the past, at least make sure they're hard hitters. All in all, Both bands seemed a bit off. JSU seemed bored like they was just ready to be over with the battle. and a few of Southern's songs seemed like everyone didn't know it. And i caught that when i think it was the btones came in early on, i think it was the 3rd song. Deduction!! lol.. Anywho. . Maybe it's because they placed this battle so early in the season, but i honestly expected more energy and intensity from this battle. I'll have to catch the 5th and see if anything changes.
@@terrorblossom4829 Well, you saying JSU sounded better is a matter of opinion. I never said who sounded better than who.. Both bands are loud, Both bands sound great. So, what i based the battle off of was song selection and energy. As i said. this was a pretty lack luster, and the energy was very mid throughout the whole battle but Southern's energy was slightly higher. Both bands song selections was also mid but Southern's was slightly better, hence, why i gave Southern the slight W. Song Selection Matters
Those old songs are good music although I am a Jukebox fan and Boom Box does not impress me. Those RAP songs have no musicality and you have to figure out what it is. With good R & B music, everyone knows what it is.
@darrylbannister8816 I'm not biased when it comes to both bands and from your post I can tell you a SU band fan or you go to school there. Me I call it straight down the middle. I love bands personally they all unique in they own way. Now both bands have power. However before the game I did have SU winning the battle. But I'm fair man. I understand most of yall pick sides and all that and that's cool but me I love all the bands that's why I have to be fair. So I like to hear someone say who won that's not a fan of no schools at all.

Both bands need more time to get it together, but I guess that's not really a surprise considering this is only week 2. I think poorly written arrangements hurt both bands, especially SU. Tyrone was nice as hell. IMO, it was the best thing played by either band.
Some make the comment every year that something isn't the same with the Jukebox. So that means that when you made this comment last year you were just hating if this year's band falls short of last year's. So was our band that much better last year?

Mumford stadium is the worst they have the opponent band in that small corner the dj is mad disrespectful to every band that step foot in the stadium it just yuck!!! And I graduated from su but I'm so sick of Mumford stadium they need to get rid of that dj keep it classy stop playing music over the band it turns people off
