Amazing machine. Makes electricity and heat with free Wood. Lots of Energy is given to make this. Lots of respect!!!

Thank you a lot for the kind words im doing research en building it al the time, because en we al get sick of keeping the gasifier topt up ,the long drying time of fuel, the Waste when the propper size is selected (-+30%) en the tar problem is also eliminated

That's a clean way to make hardwood charcoal for BBQ if you dump it early.

Thanks for leaving a comment I appreciate that, I'm sure it will work I actually use olive wood (prunings) that's classified as hard wood if I remember correctly here in Greece we have to burn a lot of it every season, as it's a multi purpose machine it can do a lot even smal grains in the feedstock is no problem

Thanks man I appreciate that, al together it's just one big giant heat exchanger XD , thermodynamically it's comparable to the Tesla gb186083 patent

Yas it is for sure, Its one of the few designs that is truly tar Free en can take High moisture low quality fuel

Clever design, probably need to invest in some ceramic wool or double walls filled with perlite or vermiculite in certain places. Looking forward to see you try to make improvements. Lekker bezig!

Thanks for the support i appreciate that, I'm sure your right about the isolation ther ar some to hot spots for the glas wool, although the reactor has a extra outher shel filled whit ash , i think perlite is even better , updates comming soon @ Lekker bezig Freek :)

@@oscarverwey I haven't tried it, but I've often thought of putting one small barrel inside another, putting some table sugar in the gap, and pouring sulfuric acid to make a pre shaped carbon foam insulation layer.

rhats a Excellent idea to do something like that . although filling it with ash works . I also found that if I wrap 25mn stainless steel diesel heater exhaust pipe around the hot spots en superheat the gasification air en cover it with glas wool it works perfectlyfine aswell

You have to use ceramic mantle for does temperatures, not fiberglass because it will always burn
@oscarverwey
@oscarverwey 12 дней назад
could you be a little more specific? for the flexible exhaust pipe i use fiberglas exhaust rap now used for turbo chargers with a extra layer of the yellow glas wool isolation this seems to work pretty good lots of charcoal en pyrolysis gas is produced by the exhaust gas alone

Can you make a tutorial on how to design a gasifier in English or dutch? I'm trying to find out what biomass i can use to generate electricity and how to design a 10kw system for 24/7 use, maybe 20kw.
@oscarverwey
@oscarverwey 3 месяца назад
I sure can, however it's best if you reed a lot of articles about gasification so you know Al the parameters ( like resistance time, feed rate, resistance, area of the heat exchange , start whit a 1 kw 24/7 ! you see this thing is actually one big giant heat exchanger so one needs to calculate Al the place energy en time of Al the different things I got pretty close but things can be improved, this one is for a 14hp/8 KW engine

You can start whit reverse image search my thumbnail pictures en read the files to take you if a good bit, also search for ( handbook of biomass gasification), ( development of a producer gas engine) (dual fire gasifier), (biomass as engine fuel) happy reading!

The flux of air that feeds the gasifier from below is useless and harmful. If you fed the air only from above and put the system under depression instead of under pressure, you would obtain: the complete combustion of the pyrolysis gases including the tar, the overheating of the char on the grate and the Bouduard and water-shift reactions more efficient with a higher percentage of CO and H2 without tars
@oscarverwey
@oscarverwey 3 месяца назад
Thanks for the advice, i think Your right I found out the same thing about the updraft air that doesn't work at least in a stable manner , pulling the gas out is indeed better for the reactions, I only did it to see where the leaks are when the engine is running it wil pull negative pressure of around 200/300mm , how cool is it to get a blue flame whitout a filter , its astonishing
@gordonpasha3126

@@oscarverwey if the burnt pyrolysis gas passes through the burning char it transforms into H2 and CO with a little methane. The higher the temperature of the burnt gases, the higher the percentage of gases you obtain. At high temperatures, char ash is an excellent catalyst in the methanation synthesis of CO+4H2>CH4+H2O. To power an engine you will still need to filter the gas and cool it. For a small system it would be convenient to use a heat exchanger to superheat the combustion air and a water scrubber to eliminate dust. If you want to reduce the nitrogen in the synthesis gas and increase CO you can inject a part of the engine exhaust gases onto the red-hot char bed without exceeding 17% of the air so as not to cool it. I don't know if you have solved the problem of discharging the ashes from the grate on which the char rests but if you need to ask

@@gordonpasha3126thanks for the info I highly appreciate that, the combustion air is super hot 400deg c on the outside of the pipe, the pyrolisis gas en the charcoal is already around 500deg c before any oxygen is added do to the exhaust en producer has heat, I even added a superheated steam recirculation system in the drying bucket before the screw feeder on the left over exhaust heat (250deg c ) to help whit drying , torrefaction en the pyrolises process , the empty burn chamber consumes only tar gasses to make heat so most char can he used for reduction , i hope for a high h2 content , as a final stage cooler I have a shel/tube boiler en it's connected to a 7 barrel electrostatic precipitator as a dust filter, I'm already planning to constantly feed a smal amount of exhaust gasses in the Hopper to keep the tar en moisture from condensing on the wall so I wil keep you up to date, thanks again for the info

@@gordonpasha3126 about the grate i have to modify it a bit because the updraft air is not working in a stable manner, if you have a idea i would be happy to try it , greetings
