I’ve used a 66” Hustler on grass taller and thinker than that with no problems. I like the ability to change out decks on that mower.

I think I would just hook up to my brush cutter on my tractor rather than hook up a different brush cutter on my ztr. Thoughts? What is the real benefit of this machine and attachment? I enjoy your channel, Josh keep up the inspirational hard work!

Zero mowers sure have come along ways..back when I had my business in Idaho I bought the 1st two zeros that came to Boise A 36" deck was as big as they came then.... Would have loved something like that.

I would recommend if you can get your hands on a grasshopper you would be much more impressed. I run a 725 d everyday and much easier to change out mowers . We abuse them and they just keep going !

I've heard grasshopper mowers are pretty awesome machines. I think my Bad Boy Outlaw XP is pretty awesome also. It has the 31 hp Kawasaki also. Plus I live around 60 miles from where they're made.

Jimmy Owens they are we have 4 of them at work with brooms for snow removal . We mow banks you can’t Evan stand on . Yes bad boys are great we have 2 of them and love the smooth ride and the power you get . I would recommend a bad boy to anyone who wants a belly mower

Powerful mower. I have a seventeen horsepower 42 inch lawn tractor and I wouldn’t want any less power. Excuse me, I’m going to check the Mpls-St Paul webcams. My tractor is currently buried under several inches of snow. I’m in Florida. So, Neener ‘neener to my Minnesota neighbors.

Assuming that the corn isn't GMOed to make insecticides the stalks can be used as cattle feed and you might be able to sell the whole mess as hay for goats if cows won't eat it.

We have 2.8 Acres of land and when our tractor engine died, we bought the Husqvarna Automower 550H, when they came out to set it up for us, they set up the app on our phone and tablet and plotted it so it will cut 1 acre a day, alternating between the 3 zones. So it cuts the same zone every 4th day. It was cheaper than buying another tractor for mowing. I think we paid $2800 out the door.

You might have this tool and I've just never seen it on a video, but if you don't have one, you sure need a Stihl backpack blower. So many uses, one of which would be cleaning off your mowers like this one right after use. I keep mine clean like that. Blow it off before any moisture hits it and it'll stay clean as a whistle. Another use, after weedeating or when you are covered in grass and debris, start it up on your tailgate and stand in front of it while it idles. Cleans you off real well before going inside. (That's how you sell Mrs. Stoney Ridge on it. Lol). Also, use it to get your burn piles going. I could keep going but I'll stop here. Enjoyed the video.

Used to be that farmers didn't plant all the way to fence rows. This created habitat for pheasants, grouse, et al .

I'm from SD and we used hunt the fence rows along corn fields. There was about 8ft on either side of the fence that would be all overgrown. Made for good hunting. Used to have a 5 bird per day pheasant limit. Now there's few fences and little habitat .

That attachment system needs to be re-engineered to allow a quick connect set of hooks, or?? The front deck held by a temporary chain/carabiner? OK. And the strap lift...primitive, but interesting. Happy Thanksgiving.

The chain is only there to hold the foot pan up. There is a detent pen set up on both sides of the power unit. It is hard to engineer a connecting set up on mower when trying to keep costs down and other company's Haven Patton's so you can't be a copy cat. The strap lift works you just got to see it in real life to understand it better.

That deck platform needs to be redesigned. Chains are a hassle and will get miss placed eventually. I would have put in gas shocks to help lift it and have a stick with notches in it so you can lock it all the way up, half way up, or just a few inches so you can change decks.... pretty much same idea as an old school hood rod to keep the hood up while you check the oil..... but better.

The seat has a weight adjustment, I personally liked it, I had the privilege to field test it when It was still in our R&D department, running it thru the field was great, pretty easy to handle and they have done a great job of working the kinks out

The foot spacing doesn't look very comfortable. I prefer to have a wider platform. Kinda gives you a more secure feeling when on hills and slopes. The further my feet are apart the more comfortable I feel.

Nice set up. Prob a lot less then a ventrac set up. I have two commercial John Deere z 9325/930 mowers. But at $9k each I wish I had a more options. Can I borrow this for a weekend? Lol. Nice video. I found you a little bit ago as I’m gonna start raising chickens this spring. I also have a metal detecting channel if you ever get bored. Thanks for sharing! Kevin.

Nice job!!! One thing I would suggest that is you might think about wearing a pair of safety glasses. You never know when something small or large could come flying up into your eyes. That dry corn stocks are like sharp little needles flying around. Not good for your eyes or your lungs for that matter... Safety first always.... Much love and prayers, be blessed in Jesus name... Nice rig Josh. That mower looks bad a*s. If I might offer a suggestion? Add another carabiner to your chain so that you don' have to keep moving them when you change positions / height. They are cheap and it will make your life a bit simpler.

I cut thicker and higher than that with my Z 700 series Ferris Zero Turn mower easily. Don't need all that extra attachments and and Transformer Toys taking up space in my barn.

No it dose not..the PTO gos to a gear box on the beck and then there is two belts one runs the left and other runs there runs the right blade driver. Its set up so that one side is turning clockwies and the other is turning counter clock. So that the cuttings stay in the middle to get chopped up even more. I work for Swisher's

Both cut great...but it's most certainly not apples to apples...the Ventrac is about $50k v/s $15k ish for the zero turn. Ventrac is a whole other ball game......since it has the 8 wheels it's made to cut steeper grades

You hear how the belt squeals when you engage them at high rpms well my dealer told me to always engage them at half to three quarter throttle so it doesn’t go from 0 to full speed ahead all at once

There's no belt on that deck. It's pto driven. That squeal you hear is the clutch.

@@robertkeel3336 yes there is two belts on the deck and there is a belt that gos from the PTO clutch to the gear box thats on the power unit. It is belt squeal when I start a deck I'm have the mower at full throttle. If you start out at a low throttle you stand a chance at stalling out the motor out in the weeds

How ya doing josh .mr stony ridge .I left a thanksgiving wish on a diff vid but I want to wish you and your wife a very happy thanksgiving and your familey as well .now a question on this zero turn mower ..the way it lifts and had a PTO style drive for the deck do you supose that they would have a snowblower attachment for it? if so that would be awsome or a small blade that pivots ..but I'm prettey impressed whith what ya have shown and I do like the idea of a Kawasaki moter they have been around for ever so you know the moter is a quality engine .but anyways till next time godbless ...and again happy thanks giving

At this time the the mower deck set ups that he has is all there is for this mower. I work at Swisher's and not a lot of these mowers have been made. There's less 10 of those brush cut ducks that have been made. Not a vary big market for these yet or people don't know about them????

@@brianmeattey4151 we have been making them for about 4 year give or take. The brush cut Deck's were made round the first of the year. There not a big sale same with the other ztr mowers made at Swisher's. The big sale are the pull behind rough cut units and the walk behind rough cut mower's. There is video's on here of people using them so check them out you and other's on here might want to buy one...........it would help me out to keep my job to make more

Each one has it's purpose for sure...the Ventrac is about 4 times more expensive so it can be cost prohibitive

I'm a Swisher fan. I am a subcontractor for Kinder Morgan. I mow ditches with the 24" walk behind bush hog across 130 miles of Iowa. Power to deck ratio is good.the common things that break are cheap (always cross reference belts and bearings to Napa). Wasn't happy with this years model( over an hour adjusting a gear shifter on a new unit). I'll be watching and maybe have some ideas when you use this on live grass and weeds.

The rough cut deck for that mower should be great for mowing down the taller grass and bushes and then you can use the finishing mower to keep the grass down. That mower took care of the tall grass and weeds and then you was able to do finishing job on the area you went over. I could use a mower like that right now to push up the leaves I have since my lawnmower is down which I used for sweeping them up with and my landscaping rake on my tractor won't sweep up the leaves like I want it to do. It works fine with raking up dirt and debris, but not the leaves very well.
