That's to be expected. The save assist feature helps a lot in Zero 1. Zero 2 to 4 though, you don't really need it since lives are much more frequent, and you can't fail any of those games missions/levels by running out of lives and/or escaping.
I've been playing the entire series by myself and I've been really enjoying it in retro version, got really hyped when the legacy collection was anounced
Nico: *has a tough time with remind* People, myself included: You should play a chill easy game on stream! Everyone, again myself included: *votes megaman zero* Nico: haha, I'm in danger!
You're probably not going to see this comment in the sea of other comments, but I wanted to say thank you Nico. I've been watching your videos since 2012 and was in a very bad place mentally. Despite all of the depression, I always looked forward to seeing your content because it always brought some happiness into my then miserable life. As I got better, I kept watching your videos because they helped me keep upbeat and not give in to terrible decisions. I am now almost 21 and I feel like you're part of the reason why I'm out of my bad place. Which is why I want to say thank you. Thank you for making amazing content and I'm so happy that my account randomly subscribed to you despite me not knowing anything about what your channel was. Thank you so much. MMZ is a very fun game and I thoroughly enjoyed playing it.
RU-vidrs can really make a difference in helping people get through really tough times. I know exactly what you mean, and I hope that things are getting better for you.
A fun fact about the final boss: When President Tsuda from Inti Creates (developers of MMZ series) jokingly proposed Keiji Inafune for X to be the final boss, his response was: *"Sure, why not?".* I'm not kidding, that's how it was! However, Capcom caught wind of this and made IC change it so that X wouldn't be villainized A MERE MONTH BEFORE RELEASE. The change was that Ciel is a bio-engineered human with super intelligence (think Sunny from MGS4) having created Copy X at age 9, meaning that Copy X is only 5yrs old by the events of MMZ1. Also, MMZ1 is the only game in which you can say X, known as a hesistant pacifist, asked Zero to wreck the living shit out of someone.
Also fun fact, in the original X series, Zero was supposed to be the main protag, but the executives was like, "No! Needs to look more like Megaman! So he made X."
@@DigeeTheGenie Ciel was originally gonna be a cyborg, so I don't really know what were the plans for her. Although there's an interesting concept regarding her and a certain boss, but it got scrapped.
I'm pretty sure the original Bad Ending of X5 was to tie with the plot of X going berserk on the idea of pacifism since he lost the meaning of what he originally fought for as the Dr. Light program deleted his painful memories.
@@mikigirl18 Not quite. Inafune questioned if Zero would be accepted as the new Mega Man before submitting his design, so he asked Hayato Kaji to make X and submitted both designs at the same time. The executives just assumed Kaji's design, which more closely resembled the old Mega Man, was the new Mega Man and Inafune's was meant to be a side character.
SuxMenner yeah. I dont think X5’s good ending was supposed to be the canon one. It just makes more thematic sense for Zero to end up awakening the power Dr. Wily intended for him to be. And if Eurasia hit it would make more sense as to why so few humans are around by the Zero series. I bet had Capcom not made X6 without Infune’s permission the bad ending would’ve been considered the canon one
Glad you had fun with Zero! Let us know if you ever wanna continue, because trust me: It keeps getting better and better from there. One suggestiong tho: If you do pick the series again, give Fefnir the Majima voice. He does speak in a similar fashion, not to mention he's always the most eager to fight Zero (just like Majima with Kiryu).
Ah yes the Zero series the one series that judges how well you actually play and having boss difficulty based on your rank. Also Z chaser ZZ rank made me question my skills of this game series. It like Boom Ghost is already at the boss and the boss is already dead by the time i get half way.
I do hope he does continue with the other games cuz this series is awesome! Just the first game is very grindy and hopefully people who hasn't played this series before won't be put off by that and give it a try.
To be honest it is only grindy if you want the game to be easier Wich sucks because this game is hard, until this day I have no idea how I managed to beat this game, especially in hardmode
I have beaten it twice with rank B on my first run and Rank A-S on the DS remake which on Normal give you double health, max health 9 lives, All cyber elves, all Max upgrade for weapon and Forms but not the boss skills or boss forms and you have to play it in sequence starting for 1 ending on 4 and you maintain your rank though out the series so if you end zero 1 with a B rank you start zero 2 with a B rank.
Zero 1 really is the roughest of the series. Doesn't matter if it's a casual playthrough or a hundred percent run, not having maxed out weapons just makes the game less fun. Doesn't help that the completion reward is entirely pointless.
@@ultrapyrusbrawler zero 2 is also rough since you need at least S rank (I think) to unlock Boss Skills sure they are optional but for a 100% completion run it's tough.
@@Darkfiro0 Wasn't it Rank A that gave you EX skills? Nevertheless, you're right that Zero 2 can be rough, however, I find that it still is more polished than Zero 1. Love all of them, though.
Hope this is the only video today. I enjoy your videos no matter when they come out. Helped me alot through some rough times and even now. Stay strong Nico
The MMZ series has to be my favorite game series of all time. Maintaining an S-Rank is an experience that just can't be matched. You feel like a freaking god when you do everything just right.
The zero series at least 1-4 probably have the most fleshed out storyline in Megaman. It actually feels like a four part story as opposed to it just being a new sigma plot or wily plot every week. ZX and Legends may have had going eventually but both were unfortunately cut short right at what’s probably the end of each series. The battle network and star force games I have little to no experience with tbh. So they very well could have a plot like that, and it wrap up cleanly and I just wouldn’t know.
I cant wait to watch this one never seen a play through of a megaman game. Your streams are great for long car rides and i have a 16hr ride coming up. Hope you take care of yourself nico, and thank you for your wonderful streams and videos they make my days so much happier.
After a long and shitty day I gotta admit, watching Nico is just nice and relaxing, this guy gives me the feeling of such calmness and ease it ain’t even funny
Congrats on your sub count pushing up to 190k. Nice to see it trending upward after a year of weirdness. Maybe you’ll be at 200k by my birthday. You certainly deserve to be. Sorry I missed the stream. Hopefully I’ll catch the next one. In any event, I just wanted to say that, following your real moment video, if you spent a month only uploading every other day in order to bolster your mental health, I would totally support that. In fact, you probably should occasionally do that since you’re a one-man operation. An addiction to work is just as unhealthy as any other addiction.
Wow. Nice to see you LP'ing this game. Hope you didn't get too frustrated with the difficulty. You know it's funny. For as many times as we ran through this game as a kid, it wasn't until watching this LP that we realized that almost all the bosses in this game are references to a different religion.
Wow, if I were part of that stream, as soon as Nico had trouble on that first boss I'd have immediately been suggesting grinding the Saber till it got the charge attack, and maybe gun, too; pretty sure that's what I've always done at the beginning of the games that use those level-up through attack mechanics. Love these games, though; started with two, loved it, bought one, used, and followed the series as it came out, from there.
I'd say that I'm not sure if it would be better to do the other games on a live stream since they add more story to the games as they go on. If chat is supportive though, maybe it will be fine. I'm just a bit concerned about the amount of elves and hidden things in the other games lol. Regardless I'd watch you play them man.
I find the X seires to be easier than the Zero series expect for the following areas x5 Zero stage 1 and Boss (Shadow Devil that boss theme is still in my head man) x6 Gate lab all of it I question the difficulty of it when i was playing as Zero I was like how the hell does X do this part my most favorite is X4 Zero path. For the Zero series 2 is my favorite the lack of a Double jump did threw me off but I prefer the ZX series more atleast those game don't judge you too strictly.
I've been thinking about binging all these megaman zero streams and I was trying to watch playthroughs of the megaman x games so I can understand the story a bit better, but there is just way too many of the x games so I give up lol
Dunno if you've still given up, but basically all you need to know is that X was a good Mega Man built by Dr. Light, Zero was an evil robot built by Dr. Wily, they were both sealed away for 100 years, a whole bunch of robots were built based on X's design (that's why they're called "reploids"), Zero transferred an evil virus put in him by Dr. Wily to the series antagonist Sigma, and they all fought each other half a dozen times. The virus in Sigma spreads around the world and reploids infected with it turn into "mavericks" (which just becomes a term used for evil robots as the series goes on). At some point Zero sealed himself away again for study. It's unclear what exactly causes the X series to transition to the Zero series aside from a big war that the Zero series talks about in flashbacks.
x6 and 7 arent bad. 6 is just hard and the nightmare system CAN be annoying, but isnt bad in anyway. some ppl struggle with it, but i always found the classic series WAAAAY harder than x6. x7 is special, and you cant talk bad about "special" things. but seriously, crapcom should have worked on this game a little bit more. theres no bad games in the x series, just the REEEEEALLY good ones, and the good ones.
