Some people also theorize that the author is writing the ZB1 origin story, and the "her" they wanna keep is ZEROSE and the finality of their group. When the author gets writer's block, it's bc Hanbin burns the script, and he then cuts the power cables to change and finalize their fate as ZB1. Or it could go along with their AI-based, video game-looking, Ready Player One-seeming concept. I agree, they seem like actualized characters and artists now. 🤷♀ who knows??
The song Kill the Romeo clearly explains what they are trying to do here in Good so Bad, in short the boys try to rewrite the dramatic story where the girl breaks up with the boy, that is the fate that awaits each of them, the story ends badly. But they will change the story to end up with the girl, refusing to follow what someone else determined for them. Just look for the translated song of Kill the Romeo and you will agree with me.
I * really* feel Hanbin cuts the wire to represent zb1 taking control of their own fate and not letting someone write their end (disbandment). Just like Adam said at 26:36 ! That's the immediate feeling I got when I watched it at first and it got me so emotional gODD Cause Hanbin is the leader so naturally it feels right that it's him :(
I LOVE the song, and honestly that shot of Hao on the street took my breath away if I'm honest. ALSO when you watch the choreo I swear to God they reference the god DAMN signal song when they sing 'bitna'
It was a crime they cut the bridge like that and the producers could have kept even going. It felt like I was musically c***** blocked. This is their best title track in my opinion and The music video was extremely wholesome and fed into my delusional parasocial ideas. Loved your reaction!!
I agree that it although the mv is confusing the running theme seems to be them taking the lead in their own story as a group and remaining together no matter the obstacles (better make it happen too then w1...). it's interesting how you pointed out that this video feels like they're refusing to cater to the fans' and the industry's parasocial fan service expectations. especially how the teaser was all about making Hao look like a hetero male kdrama lead (talk about thespian level acting! lol). but in reality they just baited the straightbaiting , put Hao in a cvnty rich auntie outfit, and had him walk up to that woman smiling like one of the Sex In The City protagonists meeting their gurls, only to not even show the girl but Ricky instead lol. like that's some meta af Brokeback Mountain poster promotions level straightbaiting haha. so it did feel like "we want to stay together with the group and the zeroses but will stay true to ourselves". I'm glad w1 didn't make them do the cringey heteronormative gf stan fan service acting to the extent I expected - I mean, come on, if anyone can escape that it should surely be Zerostraightones - and gave them a much more interesting elusive storyline. although damn, I would kill for that first spoiler film to have been an mv, the ethereal horror vibe is immaculate.
I wanna say, I liked this music video and song. My favorite outfit is when they are outside and whatever Ricky is wearing, is *chef's kiss*. But when Adam mentioned the tv not doing the bars, I was really hoping he was going to point out my biggest frustration but he didn't! When Hanbin cuts the power, the laptop shuts off. That is not how laptop's work! It's battery operated so it wouldn't do that, once that happened when I watched the video I was like "I have to hear Adam call that out!"
let me go deep so you don’t have to: i took the interpretation of the mv that someone else was writing their story, however as the story progresses, they started to take it themselves. and hanbin cutting the cord, they took over. it was also the only time the “characters” were in front of him, presenting their version of their stories. and as it ended, he agreed that they are now in charge.
The characters in the preview are in the dark without love. They are in the mind of the writer trapped without love like in a sad movie and the characters look it all the time in the cinema. They tried to found the eternal love and happiness and fight with the main of the writer and at the end they found the happiness and love and the writer smile too like ok you can do whatever you want, you are free. They said the girl can represent Zeroses. Thanks for your reaction I love and enjoy your interpretations all the time. You are so funny. The vocals and MV was spectacular!! They slayed!!🩵🩵
the fact that Hanbin has no scenes with a girl, just with himself and with Hao. Then there's Hao's scene with the girl where he's walking towards her but when he got near her, Hao wasn't really looking her. You probably know what I mean right now... HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
My theory is that the actor is a writer who is writing a drama where the ending is sad, where love ends... the typical ending where the girl leaves and the boy doesn't look for her, the girl breaks up with the boy, the girl leaves the boy, but the boys from ZB1 are going against the script... that's why the papers are shown flying, they are clinging to the girl, they don't plan on letting things end like this, they try to rewrite their story, change the scene, that's why there are scenes of them going back to the girl, running towards the girl, the door at the end that closes indicating that everything is over, they break it. The rain scene is usually a breakup scene. The scene where the writer closes the laptop, at the same time the lights of the restaurant where Yujin is with his girlfriend go out, the other scene where the light of the tunnel where Ricky is walking towards reconciling with his girlfriend goes out and also Taerae runs to look for his girlfriend while the lights go out, and the scene where Hanbin cuts the electricity and short circuits the laptop. Also Zerobaseone released Kill the Romeo which confirms my theory in its lyrics, the song says that they want to rewrite the script of their story with their partner, that destiny wants to separate them, and that they want to escape from that world and be a fugitive. When they say to kill Romeo, it is the bad boy that the story tells them to be, and become a new Romeo that does deserve the girl. Also a phrase that they mention a lot throughout the song and is also the final phrase, is: follow your own path... meaning not follow the path that another person has written for them.
i totally agree with the vocal production on the chorus they mix their voices together so much (and very hanbin heavy) so i didn’t even notice taerae was singing during that chorus my first listen
everyone already said what i was thinking about the storyline so i'll just unload all the little details i wanna scream about here: 1. GYUVIN HAVING A BIG PART WE CHEERED 2. the way they all smile in this video is incredible, i think this is the most smiley mv out of all, THEY EVEN GOT RICKY TO SMILE like in a not elegant way in that goofy trio moment! 3. in taerae's "with my girls" part every member's face is so funny i had to rewatch it 5 times to get everyone 4. HAOBIN COUPLE PART‼️ also the way they cut to hanbin while hao was walking and staring at the other person like that.. oof 5. 10:50 we finally have footage of ricky coming out of a manhwa lol
To me, the difference between a mini-album and an EP is that while EP songs might be expected to show up in an eventual LP, mini-albums are meant to be a complete project on its own. Hence it is its own 'album.' That's why kpoppies tend to be irritated if a full album tracklist drops and it has songs from previous comebacks on it. As for the meaning of the song, I think it's about wanting to hold on to a love that was so wonderful, but feels like it isn't meant to be forever. It feels like a romantic movie - but a movie will always end. The screenwriter character opens by writing he has to "let her go" and the film sections vascillate between bright, happy and romantic to moments that are more dramatic and wistful. Hanbin cutting the line is, I think, taking control of the romance back from the writer. The character in the story wants to hold on to the love so badly that he cuts the writer off, severing the character's story from the story that is being written. It's so wonderful - why does it ever have to end?
Every time I think I am missing one of the members in the video I then think about who I AM getting enough of and the answer is none of them. I just need more of everyone please and thank you 😂
I really really love this song and video!! I can’t pinpoint who I think is the star, but I definitely saw jiwoong and yujin the least. But they all ate and I’m obsessed 😭
I cant name it all but the backgrounds and themes looks like from movies or tv dramas. Like the tunnel has been used by shows like Goblin and Hotel del Luna..
I believe they are in un unhealthy relationship and their mind (the Scriptwriter) says they should leave the person (Not everything lasts) because this person is bad for them (Good So Bad) but their love is stronger (Matthew's narration: Even if it means losing myself) and they want to stay with the person despite the relationship being toxic. Because this love is "Good so Bad" so they are defying the plot and broke the connection with the writer.
I'm sorry but your theory is not right haha based on lyrics and what boys were saying themselves it's about escaping the bad ending that writer is written for them where love ends. They are not in unhealthy relationship, girl in the video is basically Zerose
Y'all I love this song but this damn video has like 9 seconds of Ricky and Jiwoong it pissed me off so bad. Feel the Pop was the same way in the video like I just want to see my boys
@0912sooli Jiwoong had 8 seconds in FtP for focus screentime, he had like 12 here including group shots. Taerae was similar amount to Jiwoong in ftp but here he has a lot more. I think Ricky had like 9 seconds here and similar as well for FtP.
