Alex, I have learned a lot in your videos and intend to use your Amazon link when I buy kayaking related items. Thank you for all the advice you give to this community. As a brand new paddler, it's been invaluable. Thanks agin.
I've got a Cross at a similar weight and it's definitely treated me well when punching into harder classes. Outfitting is awesome in Zet boats either way
I weigh about 190 including paddling gear (allow, I'd guess, about 10lbs for your clothing snd paddle). I sit towards the top end of the Five that I own. No problems at all. If you go for the Cross it's a lot more volume and slightly more weight to boss round the river. Also the five had very smooth edges so side surfing is great. it's a smooth sporty ride.
@followingrj no I don't think so. The USA Zet website and the UK Zet website actually have different max weights for the boats. Strangely the US say 75Kg max (165lbs), Zet UK says 90kg (199lbs) and Zet Czech Republic website (where they are made) says 80kg (178lbs) all for the Five. It's a 300 litre boats and lots of other 300 litre boats quote upto 100kg (220lbs) perhaps the sweet spot is 75-80kgs but Alex Barham is at least 90kg I belive and he got on with it just fine.
