This came to me with an intermittent fault. The online manuals and circuit diagrams are poor, as it is quite old, but with the help of some comments in other forums I was able to check certain points. I removed the sprung contacts in the relay and cleaned them as a first option, then when examining the boards I could see a lot of places where the heat had discoloured the contacts. Careful desoldering and then resoldering of all areas and careful cleaning of the valve socket led to success. I would suggest that in the next 2 years, it would be good to replace the capacitors (no visible damage or leaks evident now) and some of the resistors (again no change in resistance when testing but there are newer types that will give this a longer shelf life. I'm happy with the results though as it is.
