Furthermore, if they traded flash, Gnar would lose almost all escape routes once Malph decided to engage him. In my opinion, the correct play was to stun malphite into the tower with R and instantly E away either towards the ally tower or towards the tribush, if he had called Talon for assistance, creating an opportunity for a kill (although that option is almost impossible in soloq since it requires Gnar to foresight the situation - not so hard - but it also requires Talon to trust your call - which is the difficult part since trust at such foresight level is more like a gamble).
