I don't think that Wilder ever emotionally recovered from his third fight with Fury. Wilder has not been the same fighter since. Wilder was very familiar with Helenius and did not give him a chance to compete. Wilder mentally checked out as a professional fighter after that. He got schooled by Parker. In round 5 Wilder decided to let the right go on the big Zhang. Zhang was stunned a bit, but then Zhang got his own big shot in. Very different from the wear down tactics of Fury. Zhang hit him hard. Twice. There was Wilder on the mat and all could see his spindly legs. Wilder was done. Now his career is over too.
A great video Joey, a perfect duo to break down last nights fights. I´m also glad to see Loz getting more and more comfortable in front of the camera. Again, Great video and keep on achieving more and more success. 🧿 🙏
@@captainhaddock6193tbh I had it at 3-3 when it came to round 7. Could argue either way but I knew as soon as he had opened that cut, the fight will be over unless Hergovic manages to get him out of there. Very entertaining fight either way
@@PointonMedia I only gave Dubois rounds 3 and 7 so defo didn't see it as even as that but I agree even from the first cut after round 2 i thought he either has to stop Dubois or this fight will get stopped. By the time the 2nd cut opened, you knew the refs would stop the fight soon
@@captainhaddock6193 yeah Hergovic was definitely coming strong in the beginning but faded towards the middle of the fight, I was impressed at the durability and stamina of Dubois to just keep going and going
He does spar. Junior fa etc had interviews before his Parker fight and they were talking about his sparring with him and how they were in camp with him
Surprised people were surprised Warren won. Thought Zhang was big favourite. Thought Ball and Sheeraz would win. Only Hutchinson winning was a big shock.
Agreed although Ball was still in with a tough opponent. The only fighter I was confident in from matchroom was hrgovich but great performance from dubois happy for him
What was he before Wilder? Didn't have a good career at all. Avoided Vitaly, aged Wlad out and had to use PEDs for part of his career in the run uo to 2015. Who'd he beat before Wlad?
@@luckyspurs it's against the rules 😂 if it was a skill, Kid Galahad wouldn't have gotten points taken for it. That being said, congrats to Zhang on the win and Wilder should have kept his hands up, simple.
It's amazing how Wilder's aura entirely changed when Fury showed you don't have to run from him for 12 rounds, just bully him. Completely changed perception.
Good show, can also be good to maybe face the chairs more towards each other, so you organically facing and aren't moving nearer and closer to mic as look to each other or straighten neck towards camera. Think was effecting sound a bit.
Spider - aged over night. I thought Ford did enough during second half, at least to keep his belts. Williams - too small for Sheeraz. Hrgovic - saw Dubois tanking shots, got gassed out and could see the ref didn't give a fuck about Dubois headbutts. Wilder - Malik Scott trying to teach an old dog new tricks, he forgot his old tricks, is scared of being knocked out after he finally was vs Fury.
For me how both teams acted boosted the winning team, Queensbury actually acted like a team and seemed to have a bond with each other, Hamza played Captain brilliantly, after the fights they were all giving shout outs to the Queensbury team and Frank was in all changing rooms before hand telling them how great they are, now Matchroom guys all seemed to just talk about their self and that they were not part of a team… Well done Queensbury
I think Joshua's résumé needs a lot more respect. He fought his mandatories and has the best résumé out of Fury, Wilder and himself. Outside of Usyk, he probably has the best wins in the division
@@henrynwosu1 The problem you have is when theres 3, one will always be left on the outside. Its not AJ's fault Wilder lost to Parker, but other than that, who could he have fought while Fury and Uysk were tied up together. A lot of the available fights were rematches that just invoke Fury/Chisora criticisms.
None of them have good resumes apart from Usyk, sorry. Not even Joshua. Every time AJ builds a bit of steam, he gets battered. It happened after beating Parker & Povetkin and then got smashed by Ruiz. Then he wins the rematch and beats Pulev, but Usyk boxes the breaks off him. Fury hasn't impressed, Wilder hasn't impressed, but neither has AJ.
@@Al-ji4gd Hater here. Aj lost to Ruiz and won back and lost to one of the all time best. There is no shame in that. He went in back to knock the f Otto and ngannou that gave fury big problem.
@@Tpbabyface Wallin is a nobody, and Ngannou is not a boxer and then only reason he hurt Fury is because Fury is also overrated and didn't take it seriously.
Zhangs lead hand did all the damage. Didn't need to bring his back hand into play. 1 Shot and done. That's some serious power when you consider what shots Wilder took in the Fury fights
If he doesn't retire he needs to go to bridger weight or even cruiser weight. He needs to refresh his team if he does but I don't think he will ultimately I think he's finished, I'll remember him as a power puncher and he did good.
Perfect night for AJ (and weirdly Hearn if you see Joshua as the biggest asset he has and way bigger than any 10-0 result). He's enormous favourite to beat Dubois and yet beating him legit means something now. Perfect fight. Likely 3 time World Champ.
But Wilder was fighting Big Bang. He knew a sloppy right hand too early in the fight would mean Zhang would put him to sleep, he just wasn't going to be able to take that before Zhang got tired and he was unlikely to KO a guy with resilience like Zhang early.
This is wilder. Self proclaimed god given power. Power enough to put any man to sleep and he's proved it many times. I don't care about Zhang's resilience. If wilder lands clean it's at least buzzing him. But clearly this isn't the same wilder as 5 or so years ago and he doesn't have the same killer instinct he used to
Often we are only as good as the competition we face. As a fighter it is hard too improve when you constantly face lower level competition. Look at Dubois all his losses has made him better and even AJ recently
I think seen his hippy retreat, he realised PEDS whrre causing him to be a hateful person in the ring and at home. Sharing loving connections with other people is what makes life worth living. He saw that and came off the gear. Hence smaller, less power and no agression
How did Wilder even get a shot at the WBC belt in the first place? I've seen his resume and where his opponents were ranked! Only 1 fighter was ranked inside the top 100 in his first 30 fights?
The point that the HW division is now being found out as the high level match ups are actually being made is great. In order to know who's the best, as obvious as it sounds: the best must fight the best, and Riyadh Season has supplied that. Finally we know who the king is: Usyk. And the kings of old such as Wilder and Fury have gone over the hill. Now we need to watch out for the next generation, who no doubt will all be featured in Saudi or by extension soon enough.
If the old frank Sanchez turns up (pre kabiyal fight) he would destroy Hergovic going from what I saw last night. If Sanchez turns up like he did in kabiyal fight it would be interesting
Oh come guys don't tell me you saw anything from DDD to suggest AJ won't smoke him in 1-2 rounds? Miller, and then Hrgovic couldn't miss and landed power shots and combos like DDD was a heavy bag, they couldn't miss lol! DDD proved durable, strong and in excellent condition to sustain a high output, survive those early round whoopings he got and ultimately the opponent couldn't take him out and gassed, with DDD then getting the freedom to land shots(and headbutts) and win. Honestly, I think DDD vs AJ will be a replay of AJ vs Francis. I'd be absolutely SHOCKED if I saw anything else.
@@david_lauw He's proved a lot more durable than I have him credit for after his Usyk stoppage. Miller had him all sorts of bother before gassing and it wasn't known how hard a clean PED addict Miller actually hits so I wasn't assuming Daniel could take a shot based on that. Hrgovic visually didn't look in shape or like he'd even bothered to train hard, and gassed fairly quickly after being pretty much in control. A really lazy, cocky showing, disgraceful tbh. Can that flabby lazy looking Hrgovic hit hard? His KO record isn't that great tbh let alone turning up undercooked like that but we'll just have to weight and see. I'm not overhyping AJ and imho feel AJ also has a crap defence but I'd rate him a far more mobile and intelligent fighter than DDD and would feel AJ hits way harder than Miller and Hrgovic and for a lot longer before fading. We have seen AJ gas too, but I think he makes Daniel sleep long before that would even factor.
Was it actually quite a bad day for Joseph Parker. Both Zhang and Wilder looked pretty bad. And it's those two wins that got people putting Parker number 4 again.
For all Warren won 10-0, the way the results have lined up Joshua v Dubois for the world title is absolutely perfect for Hearn. That might be the biggest win of the night. Joshua gets to fight a young British fighter, who's extremely beatable but now has a legit name on his resume, for a world title and from there, either Fury or Usyk III.
Agree with your point about the Hw landscape pre fury wilder 1, but just to correct you AJ’s best win at that time was when he unified against Parker (which is aging brilliantly btw) and is something neither fury or wilder have done
I have never seen another fighter get hit by so many rights hands. Litterally couldnt miss and everyone said it was a great performance. Dubios showed heart, power and a good chin...Bit dont get it twisted folks
i noticed that aswell bro, you cud see at as hrgovic doesnt have that much power and doubios cud handle or he has poor defence his hands where wide open for them shots, aj wud destory him imo
Gonna be great to see Aj/dubois but i would rather see dubois have a few more fights before , if it does happen tbougb it will also further prove fury ducked Aj all along , if frank , dubois and Aj eddie get it on no doubt it proves fury held it up....hes the common denominator for every delayed fight ... Be interesting to see if now hes not in the equation they make it happen by end of the summer
Once there's a clear cut blueprint on how to beat a fighter, it's downhill after that, be it a limited Wilder or an exceptionally talented Roy Jones Jr, or Conor Mcgregor etc. Doesn't matter who or what combat sport.
@@Fernandes.Ferdinando I get it but let’s not forget how limited he is and to give up 60 pounds at the same time is crazy. I think he can be a champion again in a lower category
Wilder looked sapped of power 💪. Malik is trying to teach an old dog new tricks ! Fury deflated his 😮😮 s. Malik has milked his venom , now once a king cobra wilder is become a harmless big earth worm 🪱
In "guy making a life for himself and his family" terms Wilder's had a great career, in boxing terms he has one of the weakest records of all-time for a Champion of multiple years.
The big fights never happened until Saudi got involved & now it’s altering a lot of ppls rankings now the best are fighting the best. Maybe wilder was always overhyped.
Wilder should fight Charles Martin in my opinion. Good fight for wilder as Martin is not so small a name it won’t mean anything and it also makes sense for Martin too as it would be a good potential win on his resume. Plus Martin is not the quickest head movement so wilder could maybe K0 him. But honestly I’d still have Martin winning
Wilder was never good at boxing. A media hype job who overachieved greatly from starting boxing at 19. Let’s not pretend he was ever an elite level boxer tho
I think Wilder himself was done with boxing after the Robert fight and had moved on. He only came back because the Saudis were throwing sacks of millions at him and obviously he's not going to look a gift horse in the mouth. There was plausible excuses for his abysmal performance against Parker but there was never going to be such excuses in the next fight and he was just as soulless, nervous, gunshy and basically nothing like the old Wilder brimming with fire and confidence that used to swing for the hills regardless of leaving himself open.
Malik Scott should not set foot in a boxing gym again. He’s responsible. Wilder has never been the greatest fighter but since taken on Malik he’s just went downhill.
I don’t think Dubois has it but I do think he got robbed from usyk usyk puts his shorts and guard too high and Dubois should of been given the K.O I think it was all planned for the fury vs usy fight Dubois definetaly hit it spot on and dropped usyk but I think Dubois is like Joe Joyce slow sluggish but has power I can see Dubois not coping with the heavyweights up and coming and Frank warren is corrupt af that’s only reason his fighters make it up there
I think after richards loss and the ford-ball robbery the momentum was really felt by both camps and u saw with ammo williams how he started very aggressive and a loose canon, he felt the pressure to get a KO and this made him reckless. Hrgovic-Dubois was different tho, both went for the power punches but Hrgovic wasnt reckless but he did underestimate Dubois, it felt like the same situation with haney underestimating garcia a bit. At the end Queensberry were ofc also lucky that they got the momentum in the earlier fights and ofc lucky with the ford-ball robbery. But overall QB would have won anyway I think even if Ford got the win
@@charvik2314No not always but I think he won clearly overall, however close it was. Fury against Usyk was close but that doesnt mean that Usyk didnt deserve that unanimous decision bc it was a clear victory overall...
@@kaphamenskendee7428 fury usyk is a bad example. This fight was much closer than that. There were many swing rounds unlik the fury usyk ones where usyk was a definite winner of more rounds
@@kaphamenskendee7428it wasn't a robbery ever non casual could see it was close but ball won it your just stupid and should've been a stain on a pillow rather than a person !
I hate this term that Fury took his soul. He did no such thing, he exposed him for the one trick pony he is. Whats happened since is everyone has walked into fights with Wilder knowing hes not the imposing figure people thought he was. Fury, Uysk, AJ are just simply better boxers than Wilder. People love to rewrite history, That 3rd fight wasnt Fury taking a persons soul, it was an out of shape, unmotivated but better boxer, doing just enough to get by a weaker boxer who was never as talented as people made him out to be. AJ is recovering from loses, Parker is, Fury could. Wilder never had the fundamentals to adapt. Thats not Fury taking his soul, thats poor management to not tell Wilder to change or get out. Fair play if its about squeezing a couple of paydays out of Saudi before he retires. At this point his motivation suggests thats all it is. Hes fighting to limit the damage, not win
I think when you're cut by headbutts you shouldn't be stopped, at least go too the the cards . With wallin cutting fury legitimately that was fair cut. But hergovic didn't even complain about the stoppage. But Dubois isn't ready for Joshua, fight whyte or parker next imo .
If you actually watched the fight and paid attention to detail, Dubois headbutted his way to victory. The headbutts caused the cuts which lead to Hrgović having blood poured into his eyes.
boxing FANS need to know: 1."why wilder didnt let his hand go",stupid question and i think u never spar, everytime u punch,u r also expose yourself(head/body) to ur opponent and that is why aggressive fight style(keep moving forward n actively throw punch instead of counter) is minority in the industry, cuz it is more dangerous. back to this case, zhang is a heavy puncher who can also end the fight with 1/2 shot, there is no guarantee for wilder to throw punch and quit from the circle safely, especially wilder only have the reach advantage not height advantage in this fight, and wilder is also much LIGHTER than zhang.he is not fighting with a punching bag like wat u do.plz learn to fight with a human. 2. "zhang perform bad/lazy but still won",i am 100% sure that u only watch highlight clip of a boxing fight.if u watch any other boxing full fight in any weight class,u should notice that boxing have 12 round and no way they keep throwing from 1-12r.Even in lower weight class, the fighter are also spend some time to find their rhythm and opportunity, look at "canelo vs bivol" / "innoue vs nery"/ "aj vs usyk" ,their fight is all highlight?I of the time are quite BORING right since both of them are moving around without throwing punch .my comment to u is plz watch a boxing full fight or start to box before u talk shit. 3. "wilder is not in his prime", i think "prime" is nonsense in sport.how u judge if he is?if wilder win = he is,if wilder lose = he is not ? if zhang lose,i can also say zhang is not in his prime that's why he lose,so everybody is not in their prime once they lose a fight?a performance of a fighter will be affected heavily by how his opponent fight/react,it is very logic and common if a fighter was hesitate to throw a punch if he is fighting with a real human.human punch back, bag doesnt, human can land a heavy shot / counter, bag cant.as a professional,"maintain" is a part of ur career, stop saying that "not in prime" after ur poor performance,i beat mike tyson in my prime. not sure wat make u taking credit from zhang, maybe u just dont like him / this is ur first time watching a boxing full fight / ur boy wilder lose but u dont wanna give credit to anyone who beat him
Zhang was utter Garbage and has been for last 3 fights. Wilder was worse. Zhang should have been multiple title champion...he isn't..not due to boxing politics but because he is a lazy 60-80 percenter who never puts a full shift in. Couldn't care less about his amateur career ...apart from knockouts he is boring to watch
Wilder was always trash got destroyed by every class fighter he has fought, even the 96 yr old Ortiz had him in all sorts of trouble, its not rocket science on how to beat wilder put him on the back foot and keep away from his right hand, he has nothing cant adapt terrible footwork he is terrible easy to beat
Zhang wasn't very good and has only looked good in spurts his whole career, the Joyce win flattered him, Joyce was another massively over hyped fighter, so slow, you cant defend punches with your face and be a top 10 fighter!!!
