I am confused about the whole 6 months thing. It wasn’t released until mid October. I had a pre production version about two weeks before that. So basically 3 months!

Wow Mr Bloom it’s a pleasure! Thanks for stopping by 😊 I got the very first Beta version in August mainly for testing and to give feedback / Opinions on performance etc (granted, it wasn’t great at the time, mainly the motors had too much power. Obviously the final version is much more stable and leaps ahead). Just for clarification. Thanks for all the inspo over the years mate 👍🏻

Just got my first gimbal; super stoked. You can actually use the Weebill S in Inverted mode like other gimbals and the Pan Follow still works fine. You have to switch to Pov mode, then turn it upside down to the left(the side without the motor), then switch to PF(or any other mode you'd like to use). Switch back to Pov mode to turn it right side up without freaking out the motors(turn it to the left again).

Hey James! Love your videos! Been looking at the Weebill S for my new a7Siii but have a question about the Manfrotto-compatibility of the camera mounting plate. Basically, how compatible is it? Is this like the plate on the Ronin S... where it was slightly smaller than Manfrotto... so you could put a camera with the DJI plate on it into a Manfrotto head (sort of... it's still a bit wobbly), but not the other way around? Or is the Weebill S's mounting plate TRULY compatible with Manfrotto heads? Thanks!

That manfrotto plate you will have to slide it out off the gimbal (didn't show it on video) in order to use it in manfrotto fluid heads. So when you slide it back in the gimbal you will have to balance it which honestly I do it in matter of 10 seconds (considering you have the same setup when you took it out the first place)

I like the gimbal but it is not a tripod for all cases for me. It's hard to explain on the Weebill S but for me, there are issues with it in regards to fast orbits and doing simple walks with it turn into a horizontal nightmare where the horizon starts tilting on it's own. Until Zhiyun comes out with a good firmware to fix all of the problems I'm going back to my DJI Ronin S. This is the second time I've bought a Zhiyun gimbal and had issues.

Same here, got both this and the Ronin S for a month to test and keep one, the weebill keep freaking out even after two updates, they never fixed it, returned it and kept my new Ronin S, but the weebill was easier to setup tho.

Same as well. The roll was very jittery you can't shoot 24 or even 30fps on it without getting micro stutters in your footage. I just bought the ronin s as well hopefully its better

Just a heads up: Zhiyun is pronounded 'jee Yuun' in Shanghai accent, and 'Jirr Yun' in Beijing accent. You can pick your preference. I'm partial to the pirate Beijing accent. P.S. Amazing dreamy footage.

I had to return mine... I could not make it work with the Sony 6600. Even though the axis were unlocked, the gimbal would stop in the middle of shooting saying "axis lock" but there was NO axis locked. Then, I got the transmitter, forget it... just didn't want to work. I REALLY wanted this to work as it is a great concept. Bummer...

How well does the electronic power zoom work? Do you have to use the joystick or integrated wheel to do so? Can the wheel or joystick also control the focus? (Using a Sony A6500 with the 18-105mm F4 with Power Zoom)

Hi James, great video ! I have a 502 Manfrotto video tripod. When I quick release my camera from the weebill S, that smaller plate is too thin for my Manfrotto tripod. Could you tell me what is the name of the thinner quick release plate from the weebill S? So that I can buy the correct adapter to leave at all times on my tripod. or maybe you know the name of the adapter i should buy? Thanks !!!

Bosh! Finally pulled the plug after perving over gimbals for years. Got this around mid-Dec, follow-focus, transmission, the works. Just finally getting round to playing with it between client shoots. You say it's the best one you've used, I say, Imma have to do some learnin' and practicin' mate. Even with the 28-70 kit I'm all over the place. God knows where I'm gonna be at with my 50 1.8 or the Viltrox 85 1.8 on it. Back 2 skool mefinks. Banging vid as always tho brother. Peace.

I bought this gimbal and shot one wedding with it. And sent it back. This gimbal is perfect in size and weight, and very strong. However it is far too inconsistent when it comes to parallaxes and pan/follow mode. I do a lot of movements that combines the ability to tilt and pan at the same time, and this gimbal ruined way too many of my shots that I couldn't recreate. And that's a deal breaker for me. 👎🏾

Agreed, Zhiyun gimbals have never been able to do a solid parallax. With the handle tilted, the pan won't engage until the handle returns upright, so it makes an orbit parallax nearly impossible. Only way to do it is in Lock mode using the joystick. Gimbals this size have their limitations.

This is my second comment... Your shot are fabulous. Better than Anamorphia 1 & 2 (that's a record !). And can you balance on the weebil s a bmpcc 6k (accessorized like you did in your video about your minimalist bmpcc 6k rig) with a Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 or a big lens like this one ? (I'm thinking about the Sigma 8-16mm, 17-50mm and the Samyang 85mm f/1.4)

Yeet. First Zhiyun upgrade for me 👍 got my Zhiyun crane v2 3 years ago exactly and has served me well also amazed by how durable it’s been... has got soaked and been banged a lot! Still top notch as well. But was desperado for that follow focus lately. Stoked to have found this one 👌 been using a colleagues ronin s c with follow focus and was thinking of getting it... somehow I didn’t realise weebil s was a thing till now! #justboughtone #yeeeeet

6 months later ... :-) ok write please how many Weebill S pieces did you replace during this period ??? I would like to say that at least 3 items have fallen :-) With everyday use. I know that nothing has changed in terms of the quality of Zhiyun products. I was hoping for Weebill S but unfortunately it is the same ... So I do not support promoting this product and this brand. Attention, the product is of poor quality / almost every piece works and stabilizes differently. It doesn't change the fact, however, that the phenomenal shots ... you are a great operator !!! Regards

I got the Weebill Lab based on your earlier RU-vid video where you raved about it. I regretted it - absolute pile of rubbish - wasted so much time trying to balance it, use the app (the app - I mean!). Only good thing about the Lab was the QR plate. Forgive me, but cannot help thinking your video's are slightly biased, as you are not negative at all. Assume your gimbal's are gifted from Zhiyun. So is the S genuinely better? BTW I love your other videos, good content, and such a fresh Essex approach to everything.

Your fedback is very good after six months of use. I'm about to buy it but I'm afraid because I use the Canon eos R with the 11-24mm lens, which is magnificent but a little too fat on the tip of the lens, I worry, use it on this guimble, because I saw several fedbacks over the network, of people who questioned the build quality of gimble. I think that for my use, production of real estate images, his ergonomics is the best I have seen ... Did you use it with heavy equipment close to his useful load limit? If so, did gimble behave well or did the engines suffer?

I have a Ronin S which is big & bulky + the axis arms don't lock down so it's constantly flying all over the place when transporting..... seriously considering selling it & buying this.

I can't stabilised sony a7lll and sigma mc 11 with sigma 18-35 1.8 very front heavy I think adding a cage to the camera will work

Here is one... Don’t mount a hand on the Rosette side mount, mine snapped off... the 4 tiny Screws are all that is holding it... I guess a drop of metal bonding epoxy will give the screws some help... of course best done after warranty expires... Otherwise you are right... I use this more than the ronin s... The latest 0.99 firmware update is amazing

Do you reckon this would work with an SL2 and a sigma 18-35? A few ive seen/tried have struggled with either weight or space with it catching. Pretty sure the Moza Air 2 can handle it but anyone else had this combo on one of these? Ta

Firmware updates on this have been problematic. The latest 1.93 has caused a shit load of problems. Check the forums.
