I knew you'd love his hotel room performance. Down on his knees singing into his telephone with tissue wrapped around the microphone as a pop filter. :) Real singers can do a great performance anywhere! And Zhou Shen is a real singer. And so sweet and bubbly and enthusiastic and goodhumoured. And...um.... heh. And we got to hear his speaking voice, pretty much.
The second song is Teresa Ting’s famous song “Again I see the smoke from the chimney” ( he was sharing his homesick while studying in Ukraine) Highly recommend: “My Heart Will Go On” “This is me” “ Rubia” “ Got it” duet with Baobuyi. You will enjoy or sure and certain!
The mythical video of Zhou Shen in his hotel with his microphone surrounded by toilet pape r! At once amazing, funny and wonderful ! And "The Chimney smoke" was a real lullaby, an enchantment. BTW, congratulation for your Mandarin speaking. I lived 8 years in Parisian Chinatown, and I learned just "Ni Hao". Thanks to Dimash, I now know "Wo Ai Ni". I am realy not talented !
Thank you for your reaction, Sandy. I always enjoy to watch these artists with you. Also, your Chinese improved hugely. The pronunciation is much better. Please keep the good work going.
Nice reaction. You were the first one to react to him singing The Chimney Smoke, and might very well be the only one since this wasn't exactly a big performance and not many people would even take a look.
It seems like I didnot see you react to Zhou Shen's performance for a long time, not sure if you still follow him or not. His vocal control technique has improved alot now, compared to the time in Super Vocal. I suggest you to react to some of his new songs in 2019 - 2020: - Baby До свидания - Singer 2020: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gjYE6dFZ1co.html - Da la beng ba - Singer 2020: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XHedu3KcPP0.html - Freedom flower: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IsO4piW9GB4.html - See the fireflies again: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zqjU1dO5o_k.html - Listen On Your Own Doorbell: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4E1b3uV1U3s.html Thank you so much! :)
Thank you for the great reation vid. Much love for Zhou Shen. Please react to his recent live “红眼睛/ Red Weeping Eyes”, link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8XHUTdo3b_I.html. This is an amazing performance, very different from his other ones.
The first song when i saw your reaction to the short one , i have already suggest this one ^^(maybe i am the somebody^^) The second song that he copyed is singed by a legend singer from Taiwan between 60’s to 90's!!!! She was such a model of chinese singer~~~~~Just like The beatles、Michael jackson、Led zeppelin、Queen、Eagels...... ... Anyway... ... Zhon Shen has an angelic voice to this century!!!!! Its a sound from heaven~~~~ So happy you love his voice~~~~and good night^^
The second one...hmmm is not that easy to be translated in a proper way, as it is quite authentic and aesthetic..well I just literally translate it for you, I would call this song..'Lovely to see you again, Smoke', here smoke refers to smoke from chimneys. And in the lyrics, sentences r like: When twilight cover the earth, may I ask the smoke, where are you going, sunset is poetry while this coming evening is pictorial....hhhh can't do this anymore, don't want to destroy the lyrics XD.
Thank you. I tried to translate the title myself based on what I understood after reading the lyrics. The translated name that I was given was "See Also Smoke" which makes absolutely no sense in English so I changed it to "Chimney Smoke" as that conjures images of warmth and memories of family. Mandarin Chinese is such a beautiful language. Every day I understand a little bit more and it feels amazing... like a door to a magical kingdom has begun to open. 💕
@@smylyface It's really good that you have known a bit Chinese btw do you learn it by urself and if yes I would say WOW since it is really hard even for me hhhhh never reckon I would understand my own culture throughly specially in this translation scene as the two language r just logically untranslatable. I would say Chinese is a language for people to feel(not to speak) and often one word has some extended imagination. But, sorry to say that but I don't agree with your 'Chimney Smoke' as you could read there is a 再见 in the front of smoke which gives me an image that this 'after a time I meet you(smoke) again and I feel smooth and sensitive' emotion is quite important. Anyway it is really nice to discuss this with you as myself is struggling in translation most of the time and feeling quite tough. :)
@@smylyface 又=again 見=see 炊煙= the Kitchen Smoke The meaning of returning home. The early Chinese lyrics were very poetic. Very visual, working in other cities outside, returning to his hometown, seeing chimney at home in the distance, there is smoke, indicating that the family is cooking to meet him. The translation found on the Internet (I added the pronunciation) for your reference: Song title:又见炊烟 (Yòu jiàn chuī yān) Here come the Kitchen Smoke lyrics: 又见炊烟升起 Yòu jiàn chuīyān shēng qǐ Here come the kitchen smoke from the chimney 暮色罩大地 mùsè zhào dàdì And the glimmering twilight in peace 想问阵阵炊烟 xiǎng wèn zhèn zhèn chuīyān Do you know, lovely rising kitchen smoke 你要去哪里 nǐ yào qù nǎlǐ Where from here will you be? 夕阳有诗情 Xīyáng yǒu shī qíng Say the sunset is a poet’s fantasy 黄昏有画意 huánghūn yǒu huàyì Say the gloaming a painted dream 诗情画意虽然美丽 shīqínghuàyì suīrán měilì Fantasy or dream, however splendid 我心中只有你 wǒ xīnzhōng zhǐyǒu nǐ Only for you, my heart beats 又见炊烟升起 yòu jiàn chuīyān shēng qǐ Here come the kitchen smoke from the chimney 勾起我回忆 gōu qǐ wǒ huíyì And my sweet old memory 愿你变作彩霞 yuàn nǐ biàn zuò cǎixiá May you be some heaven’s rosy cloud 飞到我梦里 fēi dào wǒ mèng lǐ And fly into my dream 夕阳有诗情 xīyáng yǒu shī qíng Say the sunset is a poet’s fantasy 黄昏有画意 huánghūn yǒu huàyì Say the gloaming a painted dream 诗情画意虽然美丽 shīqínghuàyì suīrán měilì Fantasy or dream, however splendid 我心中只有你 wǒ xīnzhōng zhǐyǒu nǐ Only for you, my heart beats
@@veronicafeng8324 Yes, I am learning it on my own and it's a challenge but I am enjoying it very much. I think the reason I chose Chimney Smoke was because of the images it evokes in my mind. If you see a picture of a house in the country, snow covering the ground and the trees are all barren from the cold winter it makes you feel cold, alone and depressed. However, if you have a picture of that same house and there is smoke coming from the chimney you know someone is home. The house now makes you feel warm, you know you are not alone and the hearth is where families traditionally gather together, especially during the holidays. A warm fire means family is there and when the smoke leaves that means the family has passed away. We long for the smoke because it is a symbol of the things that are most important in life and unfortunately we often don't realize that until it's too late. Anyway, that's how I understood it when I "translated" the song to try and get the meaning. It wasn't the best title but it was better than "See Also Smoke." I am very new at this but I am already understanding and appreciating the difficulties involved in translation. I dop appreciate all the feedback from you guys. I have learned a great deal of helpful information from reading my comments. Thank you. 💕😊😙
@@smylyface ah....here is a misunderstanding I gave you perhaps... If you could read the lyrics translation above posted by Chi Chang, you would find 'Here come the kitchen smoke from the chimney' on its first line. YES we do not have hearth in our culture historically and a chimney should be on the top of kitchen in a traditional house. You might have noticed that Chinese cuisine do make a lot of smoke so here it gives a picture that someone is cooking (for me). Cooking sounds better than waiting as this is the very typical Asian subtleness. Also it doesn't need to have a real chimney in fact, for the smoke could come out from the kitchen window. We all mentioned Chimney is because at least for me I don't know how to let people know that this smoke is not other smoke XD. ...Oh almost forgot to tell, for sure the cooking smoke wouldn't be that visually obvious if you see in a distance, so 炊烟 in Chinese include steam caused by cooking rice and soup, sometimes even just boiling water(also for the cooking reason). 炊is cooking and 烟 in Chinese could be smoke-shape-like substance in a broad sense. How..difficult to translate this smoke I suddenly realized...
Second song original singer was Teresa Teng, she was well known by worldwide Chinese and her songs were widely recognised, even as she was banned in China in her time. Teresa Teng also had a successful time in Japan performing in the highest level singing in Japanese among those highly professional Japan singers. Zhou sang this song to bring happy new year wishes when he performed overseas.
For a short while. Now she is one of the most celebrated Chinese icon. Her song represents an era of China, and is loved by people of all generations.

You know a lot more about utube than I. But I think you might find this useful. It's just for you not for reaction. I am curious about what your thoughts on this. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-31-Orue2iWY.html
She doesn't have a reaction channel. Her content is not copyrighted by someone else so she gets the revenue and her videos don't get blocked. I have put up my own videos, like the one I recorded nature sounds in my yard, and that content is mine so I can post it freely. The difference is, if a video already exists on RU-vid, my uploading it onto my channel violates the copyright law because I do not have the license to use it. A reupload is not the same as sharing the original video. When you reupload someone's video, you are taking revenue away from their channel which is why it gets removed (strike) or blocked. Reaction videos are different because we are commenting on someone eles's work but the copyright claim remains with them, meaning that I do not get any revenue unless they are part of the partner program. It was fine until this article 13 mess. Now RU-vid is treating all reaction videos as reuploads (unless you chop them up somehow) because they are about to become the ones held responsible for copyright infringement (instead of us creators) which will open themselves up to millions of lawsuits every day. If article 13 actually passes into law, reaction channels will probably be terminated.
