That's not a troll. Well.. Sort of. You see, during that period, the actual beauty of the Late Han dynasty were Xiao Qiao and Da Qiao who were Zhou Yu and Sun Ce's wife respectively. Cao Cao has a knack to take people's wives as concubines and everybody knew if Wu fell, these women would be taken into Cao Cao's harem so to play a match against Zhou Yu's conscience, that would work by triggering him into being a coward for not even defending his wife and sister-in law when the war machine is already at his doorstep.

im a white dude from midwestern US - I worship this show and every thing about it... this is the greatest story- forget show - just - thing - ive ever discovered in life --- I have much respect for ancient china - if you were to ask me if it was more interesting that Rome 5 years ago , no way - but now - oh hell yes... What can i read or watch next that will be as great as this? Ill watch it for the 5th time until someone lets me know! Love this!

Zhuge Liang is so overrated and Zhou Yu so underrated. All because of the damn novel. In reality (real history), Zhuge Liang knows nothing about war. He is just a plain politician. Zhou Yu is a much better in war. And Zhuge Liang never faced Zhou Yu in real history. The novel supports Shu and wants to overrate Shu's people like Zhuge Liang and Guan Yu. I am so disappointed because they are underrated and creating bad images for other heros as well, especially Cao Cao and Zhou Yu.
The novel didn’t overrate Shu, it only overrated Zhuge Liang and Guan Yu from that kingdom. The real life Liu Bei, Fa Zheng and Wei Yan would be disgusted by how they were portrayed in the novel. Sima Yi himself was overrated by the novel, making him a rival of Zhuge Liang, but in history the real rival of Zhuge Liang was Cao Zhen, who did _far_ more against Shu than Sima Yi did. “Cao Cao” and “hero” should never be used in a sentence together in a serious conversation.
Cao Ang I wish to learn more about the real history, do you or anyone who wants to answer recommend any specific source? Also is there a series with a better “more historical” adaptation ? Is it 1994 ? I don’t know the full name but someone mentioned it.
Nah Sima Yi was predicted and plan to attack the rest of his army and him (Kong Ming a.k.a Zhuge Liang), but he (Sima Yi) gets trolled because some army Shu with a war wagon when inside was decoy statue with a model like a real Zhuge Liang. So Sima Yi decides to fall back to his camp, and after so long in the army's camp, he hears from his general if he died so he tries attacks but all he does was useless because every man in the Shu (Han) faction was flees. So Sima Yi gets trolled for the last meet Zhuge Liang in war. (This story is still in random confirm because the legend story is a legend story).
Except that Sima Yi just wore it. "Oh you gave me a dress to incite me to attack? Thanks for the dress, it's very well fitting. By the way you might want to take better care of your health. Just saying."

Where brothers killed each other in brutal ways, and ends with the Empire in such a horrible state that the "winner" of this conflict died of stress whilst the whole Northern China fell to the barbarians
Having watched Chinese historical TV series regularly, it's hard not to come away with the impression that Chinese are physiologically prone to severe (sometimes explosive) internal bleeding when they get upset. 🤔
Zhuge Liang's official biography in Records of the Three Kingoms says Zhuge Liang weakness was situational strategy, and that he was actually more of a politics man. If Zhou Yu and Zhuge Liang had met on the field of battle in real life I think the outcome might have been different.

+KoreanClown He was good at planning perhaps, but I'm with the official history (written during the Three Kingdoms period, by a Shu-Han person) when it says he was weak at situational strategy.
Don't fret. This person has only limited knowledge of the romanticized Three Kingdom period which sought to make Zhuge Liang more than the inept, failure he truly was. wasn't it also STUPID enough for Zhuge Liang in reality and the 3 Kingdoms Novel when he ordered Ma Su to defend Jieting - considering Ma Su wasn't even well set to lead such battles ... when he SURELY could have just got Wang Ping to get the job done
Man Zhou Yu kept hurting himself... The world isn't flat; we have mountains, plains, platoons etc. Ponds, streams, rivers, lakes, seas and oceans. Everything in its role is important to the next/other, none is greater than the other.. Just be yourself, & what's you or right for you will find its way to you. He was a lake arm wrestling an ocean, instead of feeding it.. hopefully he's premature death was a lesson to his children. Had he accepted himself sooner, Zhuge Liang might have been a very valuable ally to his people..
If you have watches this drama, you must have noticed each battle was decided by tactical plan in advance. Fighting was just the follow-up action. Winning battle without fighting is the ultimate goal. 😆
Zhou Yu really was a hard driver. Campaigning on even with injuries sustained in battle. I am sure with such determination, he could have lead his troops to the ends of China
Since he died quite early but still managed to conquer a large potion of the Jiangdong region in a short time, hence he was more worthy of the title the Chinese Alexander, than Zhou Yu, who died roughly 10 years later.

Zhuge Liang's weakness to me overall seemed to be countered by the people liu bei had gathered over the years. Fierce Generals who controlled the flow of battle, A leader who had the hearts of his servants and his people. Once they all passed away, it was up to time for when the Sleeping Dragon would rise to the heavens.
From what I can gather it seems like Zhuge had a bad judge of character, but good strategies. You look at his defeats and they are directly ties with the people he used. Ma Su for instance defending that fricken hill
Zhuge Liang suffered from nepotism. He antagonized people (Li Yan, Liu Feng), while overestimating others (Ma Su), leading to disastrous defeat. In military terms, Liu Bei was better, Fa Zheng was better, Zhang Fei was better, Ma Chao was better, and that’s only counting the people in Shu-Han.
historically, he is not. he didn't lost the war with Cao Ren and didnt try to keep liu bie historically, he is a great general, great man and most loyal servant of Wu. the things you mention are base on romance of the three kingdoms which is Luo Guanzhong novel. this is why i type about one thing i dont like about this novel is how they make Zhou yu look like a jerk
+condorX2 I doubt the real Zhou Yu would've done something so dumb. Just a Romance of the Three Kingdoms gimmick to show how great Zhuge is and that Zhou doesn't compare to him.
Because this is fiction, not history. The Romance of The Three Kingdoms is a very popular novel which many dramas are based on. It is a novel which praises "Shu" and put Zhuge Liang at a pedestal at the expense of other characters like Zhou Yu.
Because Shu kill steal Wu when they successfully drive Wei out from Province Jing, but Zhou Yu never expected Zhuge Liang have the cojognes to take it from them. Also, Zhuge Liang uses few trick to make Zhou Yu to attack Province Jing first.
SAY! IF ZHUGE LIANG COULD PISS OFF ZHOU YU to death in the novel AND in this scene he literally scolds Wang Lang to death ... why the hell didn't Liu Bei just send Zhuge Liang to have a 'NICE TALK' with Sun Quan or Sima Yi? Wouldn't that have solved alot of trouble even if it was a fictional novel?
maybe it will works with Sun Quan, but Sima Yi is no fool. their "nice talk" will become the hotest mixtape that litteraly gonna make both Wei, wu, and shu officer vomit blood.
billy lukito AH but didn't Sima Yi atleast in this series at times he never truly beat Zhuge Liang and even though he did counter at times - we can see at times where he's been nearly had by Zhuge Liang and at times I think when he was really worked up - he did try to get Zhuge Liang but one way or another Zhuge Liang managed to get him back ...
yeah, and the same happened in the novel. kongming never tell if Sima yi ever beat zhuge liang or not, and we can assume zhuge liang never get beaten by Sima yi. Sima yi only win in term of long live and health :D zhuge liang is overworked to dead and got sick.
billy lukito Ah but in reality and also in the novel Sima Yi tended to 'stay behind at home and defend' rather than openly attack Zhuge Liang on the frontlines at times and the advantage being in Wei territory = he didn't have to travel as far whereas Zhuge Liang kept attacking and attacking and attacking draining resources and draining himself

Zhou Yu in real life is a real hero of the South. he achieved the biggest win in battles against Cao Cao and Nothern forces that s why the Northetn Novelist loved to create bad stories about him Kongming was a child at that time and had 0 achievement, he only got something after the real Liu Bei died in building. In war Kongming was a wimp . His son was a wimp.
