Rajkumar is born in Nairobi in East Africa and he is settled there. Being very fond of Indian music he organised a tour of famous Indian singer Lata Devi. He gets furious and asks the incharge, Pran Mehra to return India. On this Sangeeta comes to meet Rajkumar and her entreaty to give her a trail, impresses Rajkumar,and the show is performed. Sangeeta's performance proves a big hit. One and all cheer for her enchanting melody. Rajkumar fall for her and in subsequent meetings develops love and intimacy. . Rani, a childhood friend Rajkumar at this juncture meets Sangeeta and informs Sangeeta of her getting engaged to be married to Rajkumar soon Rajkumar on coming to know about it shouts at Rani, saying its not true. Rani comes and complained about Rajkumar and Sangeeta's relations to Rajkumars father. Rajkumar makes plans to come to India with Sangeeta and get married after the Safari Car Race. But as ill-luck would have he meets with an accident. . Rajkumars father persuades Sangeeta to leave Rajkumar for his happiness. Sangeeta returns to India without Rajkumar, leaving him alone in hospital, without Rajkumar knowing anything about all that happened. Rajkumars father one day at the occasion of Rajkumars birthday party announces the betrothal of Rani and Rajkumar. Rajkumar opposes this and things become worse and take the shape of breaking point of the relations of father and son. Rajkumar leaves the house and Africa to come to India to get his Love. But..........? . Was this, then, to be Chandas fate ? . This dramatic and moving tale, comes captivatingly alive-in "Sasural". . Yet Chandas life became tragically bereft of peace. She lived with fear and was assailed by apprehension. Her changed behaviour mystified her mother-in-law and worried her husband Narendra. And a village crook Bansi took advantage of the situation and raised suspicions in Narendras mind about Chanda. The situation became unbearable to Chanda. The love and happiness which she had received for the first time in her life were-being inexorably wrenched out of her grasp. There seemed to be only course open to her-suicide.

I think .. The 'Introduction Music Piece' of this song is very soft. So these romantic songs have become more emotional. Next then a cool interlude piece of three or four sitar and several violins. I liked it a lot. Talented music director Shri 'Dansing' has made Anand Bakshi's beautiful lyrics a real gold. Mukesh ji's romantic singing is superb. Mukeshji, who sings sad songs, can also touch the heart with a romantic song. I want to listen to the song again and again. I must have heard this song many times for at least 40 to 45 years.

Just, how this song have very mesmerising effects on people who hear it and enjoy it. I was travelling to my home in local train in Mumbai, I don't say bagger, a man not so well dressed, (not seems to be a 1st class traveller ) he started singing this song, his vocabulary, voice, timing, rhythm and pronunciation, I imagine that he knows URDU quite fine. All passengers were so surprised and remain silent and hearing & enjoying song. Almost all contributed no less than Rs. 10/- . My idea is that so much BEAUTIFUL the song and was sang with that melodies.. love that man .I heard it for the first time.

What a superb composition... I always thought that only a few composers like KA, SJ, Roshan ji and Salil ji could make songs for Mukesh ji. But when I heard this song the first time, I instantly felt that there was another great composer with the skillset to compose for Mukesh ji. It is unfortunate that Daan Singh ji did not get to compose a lot in Bollywood, but I am sure that there are many admirers like me searching for his other compositions...

I love both of them since my childhood-adolence phase. I loved them so much that I always thought that they should become life time partners in reality. That time I did not know much about realities in life. This song is so close to my heart. Whattta a superb acting of feelings. I loved Mukesh Ji's voice. It was so perfect for the event!
