Zimbabwe's ZiG notes go into circulation 

The new Zimbabwe Gold notes and coins are now available to the public. The new currency, introduced on April 5, is backed by at least 2.5 tons of gold bullion, and U.S. dollar reserves. The ZiG replaces the Zimbabwe dollar which was rapidly depreciating against major currencies.
