A lot of the things actually aren’t blatant lies (“sensationalized” yes) Zimbabwe does have a LOT of problems, some so complex and deep rooted…our videos are not an attempt to discredit this reality. However, international media has an over-abundance of the negatives in Africa, to such an extent that many people who have never been to Zimbabwe (or Africa as a whole) believe it’s far worse than it actually is 😅 (eg. no African has access to modern convenience/amenities) they consequently have lots of PITY, but little RESPECT for people who live in these countries. The first step to salvaging some respect is to not just portray our suffering, but also portray what’s respectable, desirable and positive about our people and countries. So this channel is here not to discredit the negative experiences of Zimbabweans/ Africans, but to BALANCE the “international narrative” of AFRICA. Bless! 🇿🇼
@@TheMegabushFamily, re "international media has an over-abundance of the negatives in Africa" -- When @SlyPro remarked that international news lie about Zim, I was gonna reply that they lie about black Africa on a whole. But I'll defer to the way you put it. --Æ.
As an African who happen to be born and raised in Jamaica I always have this desire to visit the land of my ancestors. As a result I had big plans of visiting Zambia until covid changed everything. When thing started returning to normal I ended up going to England to visit my brother instead. The urge to visit the mother land is ever stronger now that you are highlighting it. I'm greatful that you showed us the real Zimbabwe bc the dishonest western media gave a total difference impression of beautiful country. I'm now going to put it on my travel bucket list. Respect everytime sistren.
Good to hear that innuh! Don’t let the media decide for you…my motto is always go and see for yourself. Not saying Zimbabwe is perfect, FARRR from it. But it also has a lot to offer than what is frequently shown in the media! Do visit! You’ll enjoy the sight seeing, the music, the animals, the activities and the food (no competition to Jamaican food though 😅 but it can gwaan)
Your videos are mature and not biased.Keep up the good work.I experience home though Im far.Great to see you strengthening the bond with Jamaica. One Love!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
@@TheMegabushFamilyyes, I used to be afraid to visit Africa. When my daughter decided to visit Senegal last year, I begged her not to go. I was so scared based on what we’ve seen in the American media. Then I started watching bloggers like you, Wode Maya, Tayo Aina, Miss Trudy and many others. So not only am I no longer afraid, Africa has become the number one destination I want to visit. I also never thought about Zimbabwe. Now it’s tops on my list thanks to you and Miss Trudy. 💖😊
@@TheMegabushFamilyI most certainly will share. People need to learn the truth about Africa. It’s not without its problems, like any other place place, but there is also beauty there, development and so much more. It’s time to reverse the brainwashing the American people. I can’t wait!
14:48 Here's a fun bit of history: In the 1990s, KFC opened on Jason Moyo Ave in the city centre, but didn't last long because of the Chicken Inn dominance had and Nandos was expanding at the time. In those days people weren't keen on the deep fried style chicken.
Nice Zimbabwe content done by a Jamaican, As a fellow Jamaican I enjoyed watching it, in a few days my daughter will he there, I hope that she will enjoy her work trip there.
Tony, they snatched phones in Jamaica, please tell me more? I noticed that there are a lot of international bloggers visiting Jamaica and I have never heard them talk about that experience. Love you guys!❤❤❤
Already looking toward the continuation. Thanks so much for that quick look at Harare. BTW, me still no hear yuh try out yuh Mandarin (or Cantonese or whatever) yet. This would have been a great episode to. You guys rock! Keep up the good work. --Æ.
@@TheMegabushFamily, I took a look at that one again; you only called the names of a few items. I mean exchanging info with a native, even if it's just greetings. No big deal though; I'm sure you'll do it some time. BTW, when I moved to Kingston (early 1970's) my fave Chinese snacks were sow-bow (a ball of flour encasing red-sauced sweet pork) and cha-sou, which I think is one of dumplings you mentioned. --Æ.
Once upon a time, we had perfect tarred roads and proper pavements. I hope city officials will watch this video and restore sanity to our town. Lots of vendors and trash.
Zimbabwe is a great and beautiful country with nice people. We're planning to relocate to Zimbabwe. We've heard wonderful things about Zimbabwe's schools, including recently in the Science Fair: The Series (2023) on Disney Plus. Zimbabwean school kids are really bright, motivated, and ambitious. Their ambition is matched by their talent. We hope you'll find the time to do a video sharing information about the education culture in Zimbabwe, some of the best schools in the city of Harare or other parts of the country, and attitudes to learning among Zimbabwean children.
That’s Mandare Estate in Mandara. We’re not sure if there are units up for sale. You can look into it, we’ll also do a quick check as well. But I know there are rentals there.
We hope those who mentioned South Africa didn’t want or mean to “trash” South Africa, and was their attempt to make a regional comparison on level of safety. But we do get your point. South Africa is a beautiful country, world class facilities etc. and supersedes Zimbabwe in certain other areas of comparison should we compare. We enjoyed our time there and definitely have to visit again!
😅 a Jamaicans accent when speaking English depends on many things including schools you went to, home background, where in the world you’ve lived since…etc For me, after finishing uni, I left Jamaica for China for a number of years and Chinese can’t clearly hear English spoken in the “typical Jamaican accent” you’re referring to, so over time being in that environment selected for a non-specific standard English accent rather than a “typical”Jamaican one…you’ll hear more of the accent you’re expecting when I’m speaking in Patwa😁 We have a few videos where I do speak in patois/patwa
I loved those two guys to be honest, they are happy people and they have this energy about them and the english was ok, you could clearly understand everything they were talking about, These are clearly the so called downtown hustlers, they are probably commuter omnibus drivers or taxi drivers or commuter omnibus conductors, i mean if we were to compare their english communication skills with other similar places in Africa say regular zulu taxi guys at a taxi rank in downtown johannesburg or so called hustlers in downtown lusaka, you would actually appreciate their language skills more.
Lmao...the no xenophobia and racism is an absolute lie. Zimbabwe is an intolerant country and it wouldn't even begin to have xenophobia. To have xenophobia you have to first have outsiders. Those guys are just ignorant of plight of others that's all. FFS Zimbabwe doesn't even cater for its rural area people. It's amusing to see that South Africa lives rent free in their head. The main obsession in Zimbabwe it's to have cash. In any case there's nothing in that place called Harare.
Oh? Please do expound on the cases of xenophobia you’re aware of, we haven’t heard any reports of it like we hear from South Africa. We’d love to hear from those who do?
You are not happy about Zimbabwe so you don't belong.Experience differ.Tell any country where there are no bad and good people.Just don't bother coming to Zimbabwe you are poisonous and very judgemental.Sorry if your experience in Zimbabwe was as bad as you sound.I suggest you emancipate yourself from mental slavery!
Lol you said a bunch of nothing. I understand you might have been offended by the mention of your country but what he said is true. However, the good thing is that you will find the good and bad everywhere
