I've had the procedure done in December.Put in a single titanium implant with a gold cantilever bridge alongside it.It was relatively painless,and about as much irritation as a general scaling..cost the equivalent of roughly $ 1100.
1000 - 1100 € per implant in Italy (If you go to associated dental clinics) with top quality service. Some clinics also pay hotels for jobs higher than 10k €. In Hungary, it's around 800 € per implant, and I heard some pretty good feedback about them. For US citizen I think it is much cheaper to come for a few weeks in Europe to get the job done..
I just had this done - very little pain, crown looks great, implant is stronger than natural tooth. If you need it done and have the money - go for it! You will be glad you did.
That is awesome! I do understand how some people might not feel comfortable watching this. Implant treatment is a type of surgical treatment, but it's minor if you compare it to something like hip replacement or jaw realignment.
Yeah... That's my point... There is a huge difference. I didn't claim they were the same. I was saying that hip replacement is major surgery, unlike endosteal dental implants. Transosteal implants are very invasive, and require general anesthesia.
Nice innovation but expensive still at about $3k to $4.5k and of course you will be put to sleep during the procedure. You won't be able to eat just drink. And you will be given time for the wound healing then will return seveeral times for the next procedures. Goodlluck to you...

Anesthesia is the most expensive part, if you can take the pain I can do it very cheap.
I got one of these implants. I didn't feel any pain, the procedure was a charm, and after 4 months of letting bone grow around the implant, I was ready for my crown to be placed on it. I would recommend this to anyone if you can afford it. I paid $2000 for both implant and crown. My primary insurance picked up $1000 of it, my secondary insurance picked up $800 and my out of pocket cost was $200
This looks extremely painful. I have to get an implant soon. Not sure if it’s the same process as this. I’m definitely being put to sleep for this. There’s no way I’d be awake while they do this.

They always show the jaw bone as if it was smooth and free of the cavity where the missing teeth were located. My wife went to have this done, because her molar had actually grown sideways in her jaw and they could not do this as this is shown because there was nothing to tap into, so the dentist had to place some bone growth substance (hydoxilapitate) into the void with the intention that once the bone filled in, that he could then drill and tap it, but over time, the substance fragmented within her jaw and this became a non option, and now she will need to have a bridge made and file down the teeth on either side of the missing tooth.
Sorry to hear that your wife had such a bad experience. Somehow I suspect that the graft procedure was not done by a dentist with adequate training. Grafting sites that are not sufficient to secure an implant are generally very successful when performed by a an appropriately experience dentist. Hydroxyapitite is not a good material to be used to regenerate deficient jaw bone. The standard of care is to use human cadaver bone. I hope the dentist that placed the bridge did not excessively remove tooth structure to place the bridge. Wishing your wife the best outcomes.
I had to have all my teeth removed due to dry mouth decay and bone loss from osteoporosis. The bone on my lower jaw is deteriorating and dentures will not hold cause of the loss of bone. Ive been researching and trying to find help with cost of implants cause if I don't fo it now i3 will have no bone left. My jaw constantly hurts i get horrible headaches and i feel my ears are always clogged. Im doing anything I can to find a dentist or an oral maxo surgeon that will fight for me with my insurances. Medi-Medi (Medicare/Med-ical. I've tried all the grant programs, I had a dental discount card-useless. Ive become mor3 depressed my speech is so Sluured people me ask if im ok or whats in my mouth cause they cant understand me. I'm so depressed and embarrassed going out it public Im usually in bed unless i have a drs appt. I have 2 grandchildren and my last youngest daughter is getting married and my anxiety and I'm embarrassed for her and my family. I cry daily I would love 5o work again as a wattress but without a beautiful smile but I stay closed mouth and alone. My family doesn't come around either. I love how they all say it's just a simple procedure, but then you watch videos like this it looks like horror movie. I mean someone drilling my jaw bone with those giant drills does not seem very much fun. I got the implant last week and it wasn't that bad as I thought it was going to be.
But would you really hide the abutment shoulder under the gingiva? And if yes, you would have to open it up once the healing process is done for the crowns to sit properly, right? It's an interesting system otherwise. That one aspect surprises me though.
Enough is enough I am going to Karachi,Pakistan to have my dental implant done for only $1500 and stay at a nice hotel for that time and visit beauty of Karachi.

I am a dental patient from my childhood, as some my tooth gone by periodontal problems I want to fix implant teeth..but one my friend told me if we fixed an implant in lifetime we cannot go through some diagnostic tests like MRI, as metal inside.. is it true ?

i think they really need to merge dental and general health insurance, some procedures cost so much for a person to afford to be healthy, teeth are part of the digestive system and problems in the teeth can lead to more severe health issues, it makes no sense why its not all in one concerning health insurance. Maybe we need a petition the government to do something so we can all have good teeth and health =) .
