(Quran Al-A'raf 7:194) In the above verse of the holy Quran, Lord Almighty Allah Say's that if you invoke the pious buried in the Grave don't respond to your call, it's a proof that they don't hear our supplications, Hence invoking them beside the Lord Almighty is Shirk (Associating them as deities with the true Lord) they were servants like us, a part of creation, they were in need of food, air and water to survive, they were not the owners of their own life's hence they are dead, the Lord Almighty who created them and sustain them is worthy of worship, The creator of everything, not those who were created.
