Okay. Couple of questions. How many layers or how many times do you suggest to cover item with wax? If used on a jacket or pant, how or what would be the proper way to launder them, when needed? Thank you!!
I do at least 2 layers for complete coverage, You need another layer if you decide it's not waxy enough. They say- you shouldn't launder. You should wipe the garment down with a cloth or use a brush to remove, stains, dirt, etc. Then you'd reapply wax as needed. Personally, I'll try to clean it as best I can and re-wax. 'm pretty cavalier with it. I'll blast waxed stuff with a garden hose and use a brush, let it dry and then reapply wax. If that's not working, I wash it in the washer on COLD and then air dry and then reapply the wax. It really depends on how much wax you have on the item, if it's a garment versus a hat or a bag. I also don't apply so much wax that the item is crunchy or very stiff either. You can also follow the cleaning and care instructions from websites that sell waxed items. FIlson is a good one.
