Hey Everyone,
My name is JRO Lights and I have been collecting Zippos for over 10 years. My collecting themes include: limited editions, Collectibles of the years, and any unique/ special designs.
I am not a film expert or editor, however I have a passion for Zippos and I hope to bring a variety and diverse range of Zippo information.
My mission is to bring knowledge to both new collectors and more seasoned collectors, and also bring more knowledge to myself.

Bro this video was great. Full of useful information, especially for people who don’t know. I def miss how all the coty used to come with metal tins. We are def getting ripped off now lol. Love all the pictures in the background also. Great set up. Good editing also. I’m really impressed. Gonna be sharing this.

Nice vid. There was also a couple more 60th anniversary lighters. There was one with a white nickel finish and there was also an employees only solid silver that came in a wooden box.

Thanks! Actually just posted Part 2! Yeah, I know for the 65th and 70th they had special releases as well. Didn’t want to go down all those rabbit holes, maybe that will be a good topic is to go into all of the special extras they came out in addition to the main lighters 😁

I wonder why they had a hiatus on the COTY? Seems like a huge money maker for the company.✌️

Yeah I’ve been trying to look into it. Idk if it has something to do with the click club and then trying to make something more exclusive. I’m going to address the “limitedness” in the next part. In 2002 Friends for a lifetime they issued 70,000, starting in 2014 they were making around 20,000 or less of each one. So that’s a big difference.

Yes it is! The 60th anniversary.

Supposedly, it was another artist, not Varga. The story on the back of the tin may be a falsehood perpetuated by Zippo!😜

It was Enoch Bolles, the artist of the first (artwork) Windy Girl, but "Windy" was also going to be a man at first,and Zippo did release some newspaper ads featuring a Man fighting against the wind trying to light a smoke. The other artwork Windy girls was also in Esquire Magazine in 1938 (parachute) 1940 (falling down) also a clipped photo of the Windy girl was used in the magazine also in 1939, that image was taken from a ice follies program from the 1930s.

That is fascinating, might be one reason I had trouble finding additional info on it. I’ll do more looking into it for the part 2, especially since part 2 starts with Windy.
