Zirda the Dawn Waker, the Fresh Maker, the Bread Baker. Decklist: www.moxfield.c... Buy Me A Coffee!: www.buymeacoff... #magicthegathering #commander #edh #boros
You automatically get a like, because I know it's going to be good, but I'm skeptical that I will find Zirda the best. I can see some combo potential for sure, but I like the idea of it in the 99 of certain decks. War room definitely better in Boros than in 5C lol. And of course, I knew you would bring out the Basalt Monolith. Definitely a lot of mana combos in here. Hateflayer is just nasty with the combo pieces. I would definitely have more fun with Boros Equipment and Zirda in the 99. But this is definitely a potent deck right here. And I better check my shoes for a walking ballista, because I don't have $15 to spend on it. It's not worth it to be lol
After watching this video, I have 0 doubts that Zirda is the best Boros commander. New Aurelia seems dope though. Wish you a happy new year Nicky G. Thank you for making commander better.
Always happy to see more boros content, so glad that options have gotten better since the days boros in commander got memed on and wotc refused to give us good card advantage. Super hyped that Boros has strong combo options even if they aren't many.
Bro, love your videos. Crazy thing is I just pulled Zirda acouple of days ago. Truly learned something new today and have a reason to start building this deck!
A few cards that might be worth running with Voltaic Construct are Karn Silver Golem, Liquimetal Torque/Coating, and any number of mana rocks that tap for more than 1 mana. Not only does this let Voltaic Construct untap LOTS of things it normally couldn't (Liquimetal Torque/Coating can make any creature an artifact creature and Karn Silver Golem can turn any non-creature artifact into a creature) they're still worth running even without it. Liquimetal Torque is an efficient mana rock and Liquimetal Torque/Coating can turn your artifact removal into anything removal. Karn Silver Golem can turn any noncreature artifact into a creature which can be a nasty surprise if someone tries to boardwipe (not to mention any 0 drop artifacts just die if they suddenly become a 0/0 creature). He's also a tanky 0/8 if he blocks or is blocked and a decent 4/4 if not.
@@bettercommander It's even great in GREEN decks.^^ The floor is an efficient mana rock and the ceiling is the ability to turn ANY permanent (sans lands) into an artifact which will turn all your artifact removal into ANYTHING removal.
Zirda is fun, i had lots of fun with her playing in standard when she legal but never got around to make an edh deck with her. I mostly comboed with janky stuff like faerie formation, midnight clock, skycat sovereign, parcelbeast etc. But i'm certain there is enough cool stuff in boros to make a fun deck.
Awesome video dude. Noob here asking for some direction. If I wanted to run zirda as a companion for a edh deck. Who would she pair best with. Naya, jeskai or mardu decks with zirda sound so cool. I just don't really know the field well enough to pair her with a commander or what the 99 should besides the stuff in this video.
Someone mentioned Kenrith. That's a sweet commander. Mana dorks pair up nicely, as do artifacts. Boros equipment and/or Naya Equipment are awesome. Samut, Voice of Dissent is an excellent under-rated hipster commander. Welcome to the Channel!
I love me Otharri in the command zone, brother, but you make a compelling case. Maybe I'll do Zirda with the ol' Sunforger and make it hammer time. Turn Boros equipment into Boros spellslinger dood! Also, Transmute is still the most fun tutor mechanic ever made.
Even after the errata I have 6 different companion decks -Zirda’s requirement means I built a deck with mana dorks and equipment/cycling cards to get that sweet, sweet discount!
