I order this ebike from ebay this month. It arrived in 3 days.It came in a large box.I had to put the seat and back fender on.This ebike is a head turner, eye catcher, finger pointing at it ebike. This ebike is very very fast.I downloaded a speedometer from Google play store. And this ebike reached speeds of 25mph pedal assistance.Climbling up hills is easy and fast. You can also ride it like a regular bike too.Glad I order this bike!!
Exactly, you kind of resumed my review :) It's small light fast and comfortable, it goes uphill very easy and you can use the pedals to start quicker from a stand still and save extra power. Thanks for watching!
I have been using and testing the bike quite a lot in very varied terrain and hills, I have noticed that the bike seems to be generating some of the lost power back when going downhill fast enough (the power indicator drops a notch when going uphill and regains some of the lost power when going downhill while throttle is neutral). This is not exactly regenerative braking but it's great as it allows the range to be extended a little. So the ideal way to use it would be to pedal on flat roads and uphill and release the throttle when going downhill to regenerate some of the power from the hub motor. I will try verifying this with a multimeter attached to the battery next time and see if indeed the battery charges as the bike goes downhill. Side note: A smaller 15T rear sprocket would do wonders, I'm going to try and install one in the next few days to see how it responds to pedal strokes.
Interesting analysis, but it might also have something to do with the bigger voltage sag when going uphill and then on light loads the battery will rise in voltage again, but the bike does have a kind of electric brake working and that might put something back.
If you are from Europe or USA check my video description, i've included a link to a seller that has local warehouses in Eu and USA so it cuts shipping time to only a few days.
Thanks for great review. I just ordered it on eBay. I was looking for 350 power motor there but all offers are for 250W. I hope it is still as fast and powerful as what you showed. Yes, spare battery would also help. Cheers.
Look at the ecotric 500w fat tire bike for around 780.00 on ecotric website hope this helps i own the flash 500w and seagull 1000w good company with warranty fast delivery in the USA
Superb video, I went and bought one on the strength of this, ok, so new riders/owners, remember, your battery packs are new, and it will take a few charges before your new pack reaches optimum efficiency, just like a new phone or laptop. For the price it’s incredible, and has an almost military feel to it, and quality parts used, a few of the fixings look and feel cheap, the chain is cheap, and so are the brakes, tyres etc, but, this is to be expected for the insanely low price, and you can always upgrade the lesser quality parts. As mentioned, the battery mod you’ve done needs better explanation, and must be followed up please, thanks again for the review, very helpful.
Quite happy with mine so far. It's a fun little thing. Nice to go out for a drive in the summer. Driving in parks, quite roads etc. Really nice! I get about 15km on pure electric. I never use the pedals. I'm 184cm and 75 kg. I wish it was a tad bigger. If i could do it over, i might have gone for the Fiido2 as it is bigger. Maybe i will try and install a taller handlebar. Just 3-5 cm would do wonders. I would not recommend this bike for people over 185cm. It really looks ridicouless, but i dont mind that so much. It's more about the lack of comfort. I would not last much more than 15km on this, so i dont need extra battery. The small geometry makes it easy to carry up in my appartement though. I would never leave it overnight in my area. It would be gone very fast. Also you need to get used to people starring lol. I don't mind.
Hahahaha, I had the same "people starring effect" but later become acustomed. For a big confort upgrade I recommend the Fiido D2, you can se my review of it.
@@TechTronic9000 I cant recommend the Fiido D2 sadly, the back plate around the wheel breaks very easily, the pump suspension only works for 1.5 years, breaks replacement is very hard to find (only brake pads but no parts for when the pads holder is damaged) battery isnt better than this, pedal assist only does like 17-20km/u maximum not like this bike that goes to 22-24 as far I see with pedal assist. Throttle power is the same between both bikes. You are better off buying a Niubility B14 which is well made (but skip the b16 because its pedal assist only).
@@TechTronic9000 i ordered the last in offer from gearbest because of your video!!!hope a video or pics from your modification will be very helpfull!!!(i am a subsciber to your channel since the parrot disco videos)
Thank You for a good video! Yesterday received my Ziyou...... and can confirm. The booklet included is a bit confusing. High edition is with rear shock absorber and 8Ah battery. Standard version must be with 5Ah battery, Mine is with 6 Ah battery. About motor i cannot comment, nothing to compare with. Additional battery would be a great bonus. After unboxing i adjusted chain tension, which was too tight IMHO. Also adjusted brake calipers, to get better feeling of brakes. Tyre pressure right now is 3,3 rear and 3,0 front, but seems, that front pressure must be lower, to absorb road bumps.
May i ask, how did You connect the extra battery? Do You switch manually to additional battery, when the original is exhausted, or are the batteries connected permanently, forming one 12Ah block? I am desperately looking for solution for expanding the battery capacity.I noticed, that after charging first 1-2 km bike is accelerating better, then it calms down. Obviously it is connected with voltage drop. My average range currently 12 km, then it shuts down.I have seen comments about inaccurate battery monitor on bike, but there is actually nothing wrong. During acceleration voltage drops and green lines disappear one by one. When motor cuts off, voltage gets higher, although battery is exhausted. And two green lines show, like there is a remaining resource.Battery monitor on bike is a bit simple, but logical.
Hey, Really Enjoyed the Video and Looking forward to buying one, Quick Question How do you put two batteries together for more distance, can you please do a video from where you purchased the battery and how you connect both batteries as a tutorial, Thank You.
i did got it yesterday it is a fun little moped!!! but it has not a 16 inch wheel size is a 12.5 inch wheel with tyre! just to add some real time info. also for my weight 100kgr the top speed is 25km per hour and the battery lasted 15km with full throttle on the first charge! the disk brakes need adjustment because they are rubbing on the inner side but that will be easy i guess to adjust. as you mentioned on your video pedals are usable up to only 5-10km per hour!!!so are almost useless!!! i did order an extra battery 36v6amps but i think i will also need a DEANS parallel connector to connect the second battery?thanks
Hi friend! how is running now? I am interested to buy it but I want to know your experience. People comment that the brakes are not well regulated. That the height stays small for a person of 1.80 cm and that you cannot pedal correctly. The distance that can be done is maximum 15 km what about the breaks the lights and the battery level, people comment that battery level use to not working well, the lights turn off without reason and the breaks is not so much efficient.
I would get the FIIDO D2 as it has adjustable height of the handlebars and it's rated to 120kg, also has suspension (on rear) so it's overall better. You can check my review for it. There is also a new L2 which should be better than the D2 and the T18, it's this one: bit.ly/2lHiauY
Awesome review. Thank you. I just rode mine for a long distance (over seven miles), and I immensely enjoyed it. Even though is is slightly slower than my Electron Wheel (Electron Wheel reaches 19 M.P.H.), this bike is overall much better.
I love mine too. Just wish the throttle was the entire handlebar. Don't you get tired in the hand from squezzing that small ring? In the rain it is so bad and slippery. I hope to make a modification at some point.
@@michaelblue7852 yes, twisting the throttle gets so tiring and cramps the hand, for sure. I wish they made it to lock when twisted, and then quickly released when applying breaks. I also wished that it could fold in half.
Tried buying this bike today but Shocked to learn Gearbest won't Ship it to Canada, strange indeed. It Ship's from Poland around Europe , a pop up dropped down before check out Saying this device isn't compatible with your region , Gearbest needs to change this & Let other people purchase the product probably something to do with the Battery Pack & shipping companies having problems with batteries in transit I'm assuming.
Yes your are right, it's because of the Li-Ion battery size/capacity. You might be able to get it from here, check if they have a warehouse that will ship to your address: bit.ly/2Ot6gAL
Would you explain more about how you hooked up your second battery? Are they both connected to the controller at the same time in parallel or do you use a switch? On hills mine quickly went to one bar and cut out and then recovered to 3 bars. Maybe needs more amps? Thanks.
@@TechTronic9000 Hi, I bought this ebike recently and am looking to upgrade to a higher capacity (Amps/hour) battery and maybe a different controller all-together. Have you been able to figure out if the existing controller can be hacked to increase speed? Is the controller silicone sealed? And regarding the additional battery pack that you run in parallel to the original one, does it have a separate charging port? Or do you use the same charging port as the previous one? Thank you
@@chaos371 I want to do exactly the same, it looks that the motor is limited, Also I have noticed that when the battery is less than the half the bike start to lose power, especially climbing, have you noticed?
Hey tech... could you give me a more detailed information about how you added another battery please? What battery did you buy and where did you get the battery bag from?
I'm thinking of making an additional video about that as it seems to be a very popular question. The battery was DYU, 20 cells + BMS, bag was from a local bike shop and I have used a bit of wiring and XT-60 and Deans connectors.
..Attention! E-Bike C.E.O'S ...ALL E-BIKES WITH "ENCLOSED" BATTERY SHOULD HAVE EXTERNAL "EXTRA BATTERY" CONNECTION!! ...THIS SHOULD BE A STANDARD! ...WORK ON IT!!
Great review. I also appreciate to see the upcomming battery upgrade video...as everyone ;-) How hard is it to ride this bike with only manpower after battery died? Could you imagine to drive e.g. 5 km without battery power in "normal" speed, or is it more snake speed?
5km would be to much, maybe 1-2km as the gearing is too low and you can't go faster than 10-15km with a decent pedal rate, while the motor will add a constant drag making it harder and harder to go on :)
That was an amazing review. You covered everything I could think of and more. I wonder how difficult it would be to swap the front chainring for a bigger one and also to change the controller so the bicycle will be EU compliant. Does this bike have a regular controller box in there or is the controller part of the battery and BMS?
Thanks for watching my review is such detail! You probably could use a bit more larger gear, but not very large as you risk hitting the ground with it. The controller is a standard ebike one so you can change it easy along with the throttle.
Thanks to your review I ordered one and received it today. It really is a very sturdy and well made bike. I will have a look inside the battery / controller box tomorrow.
Okay, fully charged the battery and took it for a spin on an asphalt road with some speed bumps. As you already explained in your video , the pedals will only let you pedal up to 15km per hour or so, as soon as the controller kicks in it just speeds up too fast for your feet to follow. But you could fake pedal while riding fully on the electric motor. My bike also has the 6 amp battery pack.
I looked into the size of the rear flywheel (16T 35mm) which already is the smallest that will fit on the rear hub, so no option to gain anything there. The front chain ring (48T) and crank can be swapped out for a slightly larger one, possibly 52T with a little luck and maybe even larger with some crank spacers or when extending the dent in the rear bridge (there is a dent in it already to clear the chainring). I do feel a larger chain ring will still have enough ground clearance on normal roads but it might get you in trouble when off roading.
Who has figured out how to unlock the top speed limiter on these bikes I have one coming in like 2 weeks and I need someone to tell me how to make the top speed higher.
Great review! I'm planning to purchase this eBike moped. Waiting forward the battery upgrade video :) Just wondering where to get spare parts later if needed?
I need help with this exact bike i have not modded it all, i only changed the back tires tube and now the mother dont power i charge it it shows full bars but not even the headlight come son so i assume it has to to with the wires poss or controller tried randomly any help i will love thanks, when the tire was popped i had it in my house all winter and i could turn key see headlight and turn throtle and tire would spin i just did that same test before i changed tire and it had power to motor for like 1 mil second and seemed like it was going backwords but idk
I just ordered this tiny bike but it's the first product I've purchased which I can't either pronounce or remember the name. lol. I think they should change the name to something shorter and easier for western countries.
Very nice review! I've been waiting for someone to review this bike. What is the range with pedal assist using the original battery? Can you continue pedaling after the battery is completely flat?
With assist you will probably get 30+km, the assist is mostly useful where you use the most power and that is starting up and yes after the battery is dead you can still pedal.
@@TechTronic9000 Thanks for your reply - appreciated. Yes, I've stripped it down, completely discharged and recharged again. I also suspect the brakes but I can find no info on servicing them. The manual is hopeless and it's a very basic model - just power on or off. The problem started after I tried to reprogram to remove the speed limiter using generic internet instructions (hold brake for 5 seconds etc). Now, I don't even know if that was a possibility on the bike but whatever, after only three rides, it doesn't work and of course, the guarantee is worthless. Shame because it was very handy.
Sadly the "hold the brake" video is usually a fake one and even if it works, the bikes that it apply to is very limited. Probably the best option would be to get a better controller and new display, this way you will have adjustments, speed display, etc. You can send me a message on my Facebook page and i will try to help you with more info.
Hello budy, how are you? I bought this bike 9 months ago and my brake broke. I lost my manual and I wonder if you could provide me a copy of the manual just so I can see the type of brake so I can look for one. Can you help me? Cheers!!
it seems thus review was hyped up a bit to get people to order using hus referral link. I just received the bike yesterday. I immediately inflated the tires to 2.75 Bar as it says on the tires (40 psi). My range was only 16 Km on flat land. More disappointingly, it still showed half power full when my motor cut off. Also, I cannot confirm the speed in this video. I used a Garmin edge GPS bike computer and it mostly registered a top speed of 24.4 km/h for the first 5 Km, the rest of the time it was around 22 km/h, going up a not so steep bridge was 20 km/h. It's not all together bad, but not nearly as good as this video makes it look
Where did you bought it from? There are at least 3 variations of it, maybe you got the 250W model? Also I did mention in my review that i get around 17km range so I don't see what is hyped about it.
Hi I bought one on flash sale after I saw your review. I have two questions. Is there a way to make it a bit faster??? Also where can we get extra parts from??? Thanks a lot. Great review
Most of the parts can be replaced with DYU one, available on aliexpress. To get extra power you need to replace the controller with something more powerful such as a peak 500W controller. Don't overdo it as it my break the motor.
When you got the bike the first thing you should have done was charged it completely! Just a fyi a 12ah battery will fit no mods. Next month I will be showing a step by step video how to put a 14ah battery in with hopefully minum mods. (On my channel)Let me know if I can help. Thanks to this guy its why I bought mine
I absolut4 love mine. The welds are professional, and the bike is still going strong. Is there any way to attach an extra battery to get some extra miles, as it only goes around seven miles on a full charge?
@@TechTronic9000 thank you. My bike's battery is now dying too early. Apparrently, it does not handle loe temperature well. It is a wonderful spring and summer bike, though.
Hello! My grandpa got this bike but sadly without a charger... I already found out that a replacement should be 42V/2A but I don't know about the plug the bike needs in order to connect the bike with the charger. Could you please tell me which plug the bike needs? Thanks a lot!
How hard is it to take the yellow decals off? Are they painted on or are they stickers? I have one coming next week and I don't want that much yellow on it...
Tires are too small. I want to be able to ride in snow. I don't cycle for recreation. I cycle for utilitarian purposes. I need it to get me from point A to point B. Now if there is actual ice on the roads, then I'm stuck even in a car as I don't operate *any* type of conveyance on surfaces where I don't have traction. But I can and have actually ridden in snow. It was a motorcycle, but it was still a two wheeler.
Hello everyone ! Could someone please tell me what should be the pressure of the front tyre and of the back one? Or let me know how do I find this information? Actually there is some numbers written on the tyres but I can't tell what their meaning is ? It's '62-203 (12 1/2 * 2 1/4)', any idea? Thank you for your help
Please help. Does anyone have a link for spare parts? I am trying to find the red plastic cover from the rear brake led light because mine came without one. Thanks. Sorry for posting on this review video.
Please say the motor Part numer located on side of motor. The motor manufacturer is CZJB. There are two versions - geared and not. Geared motor hat a lot more torque. I have Askmy X3 with visually the same motor but unfortunately not geared motor.
07:45 deserves its own dedicated how to video (for dummies) on how to make an additional battery pack for an e-bike Edit: if you can make one for the Fiido D2 would be amazing 🙏
I've added a video for the 2nd battery install, but not really for "dummies" more of a quick how to for the ones that know some basic skills :D Planing to do it for the D2 in more details, just need to find the spare time....
@@TechTronic9000 out of curiousity, based on the D2, would it be along the lines of a replacement battery with a Xt60 to DC adaptor that would "charge" the onboard battery whilst in motion?
@@TechTronic9000 i think we are talking about the same thing, so is only 1 mode and all that is the battery level?. I gonna try to send you a picture here. Thanks
T18 does anyone have a schematic of the wiring , or willing to take decent pic so I attach the controller back please, I would gladly buy you a few drinks via PayPal
You might do something else, get a ~controller KIT that comes with display, throttle, pedal sensor and just replace all the old ones. The motor plug / hall sensors can be matched to work. You might get a better KT one which allows more customization.
As I said before these pedals are junk I've had them on to other bikes that lasted a few months. I've had the bicycle for 4 days and the left side locked up I've already had to put new pedals on it just a heads up normally last 6 to 8 months if you're lucky
2 days ago i bought this bike and i was happy to receive is so short time, they advertise that shipment will be made by them warehouse in Poland. It is fake, the bike come from china in 20 business days ( as they say) it means more than one month. I contacted them by chat before to get in touch with the oerator thay says me which language you want to spack? i say Italian because i am Italian, than a person contacted me in English, another fake news. Thy says me that warehouse was full and dont know when will be filled up for the bike, i says why you don't change the delivery terms on web site you still to offer with 5 days delivery. My opinion is that they way to ship from poland was not totally legal, they do for a while but cannot go ahead because of the vat, the duty and so on. The way of 5 days is attractive 5 days but is an incorrect style to made business. i claimed with paypal and waiting for receive the money back and cancel this website from my buying options.
