That’s what is so intriguing about him. On one hand he is a vile, depraved murderer, but on the other hand he was mocking the authorities, creating his own lore, and evidently having the time of his life making a big spectacle of the whole thing. So very inhuman but also so very human at the same time.
BlurryBigfoot You can tell how old someone is by their voice. The voice in this video is that of an 18-25 year old man. All the other zodiac calls were from a man with a deep voice, experts believed he was in his forties.
And yes disclaimer everyone, this is not the voice of the real Zodiac. The call was traced during this show, and it turned out to be a mental patient who had had called from a mental hospital. So it might be disappointing that it wasn't the real killer but it's still interesting footage to watch.

The call was not traced during the show. It was traced at some point following the show and it was found to be a patient at a mental hospital in the surrounding area. This has been confirmed on numerous occasions.
@SealOfDisapproval Dude, you watch way too many documentaries and you're too damn gullible. There's a reason these 50+ suspects were never actually considered the Zodiac by LE. Because they aren't. End of story. Documentaries can and will say anything to get you to believe their theories. They are almost always wrong. Harden, Gaikowski, Arthur Leigh Allen, Rick Marshall, the list goes on and on and on. None of them fit the Zodiac 100%, but several of them have little circumstantial evidence. Thats it. I think Zodiac is someone who has never been identified at all. I also believe that at least 1 of the murders was committed by someone else and Zodiac took credit for it. Which makes it 1000x harder to solve. Dont believe everything you see on tv. It's not Harden. If it was then why would he offer to solve a cypher that he sent, but not the other one thats never been solved? Ridiculous theory.
It is known for a fact this isn't him for multiple reasons: 1) The voice was too high pitched by victims who heard his voice. 2) The Police traced the call to a mental institution. 3) The Fingerprint found at the cab killing was not a match to the mental patient.
@@swankybutters8371they traced the call that was placed here to someone in a mental institution as they were tracing the call. While it’s been assumed that the person who called onto the show also called Belli later, I don’t recall if they determined if it was the same person.
They actually did end up tracing the calls later finding out it was a mental patient from a hospital claiming to be the zodiac killer. I'm reading the book right now written by Robert Greysmith who actually was a cartoonist at the San Francisco chronicle at the time of the murders. He ended up obsessing over the case and eventually wrote a book about the whole investigation and murders( just in case you didn't watch the movie). I highly recommend reading the book because it goes in more depth than the movie and it includes all the ciphers and letters that the zodiac had sent. Definitely a page turner 😉
it's insane to think that the zodiac caused and obviously thrived off so much public attention, to have a large city and area in fear, for the time he did, this aspect of the zodiac loving the publicity seems to motivate his actions strongly, seemingly a twisted egotistical sense of self that took pride on being able to exahlt fear and terror,reminds me of the joker from the dark night explaining how he can send a whole city into panic if he threatens to blow up a school bus, show how flawed the schemers are, upset the established order.
You4rik Trist When i was learning more about The Zodiac and especially when I watched the movie, He definitely reminded me of the Joker. The Dark Knight Joker definitely reminds me of The Zodiac and I even wonder if the writers for that movie got any inspiration from him. Glad to know I wasn’t the only one thinking that though.
Musicrecords10 i think it’s Arthur because his timeline matches up way too well along with all the other coincidences that involved him. Or it could have been that other man that was friends with Arthur. Wasn’t his last name Vaughn or something like that? Maybe those two worked together to make it seem like only one person did it. Who knows.
It's weird to think that the real Zodiac watched this on TV and thought "I'm going to tell them it wasn't me but i won't just write it. I'll put it in a cypher".

Well, i found out the three teenagers who saw the cab driver being killed made the sketch with the police. This woman (Kathleen Johns) identified the killer when she saw the sketch. _She noticed the police composite sketch of Paul Stine's killer and recognized him as the man who abducted her and her child._ source wikipedia

There's a Saint Vincent de Paul Day to honor Saint Vincent, that day is celebrated on September 27... The same day of the Lake Berryessa attack... The caller into the Dunbar show was not very subtle. This makes me almost positive that Zodiac called into the show. Oddly enough it's called feast day...
The letter actually makes me think this was an Associate of sorts, it would fit perfectly with his sick Games, have a man claiming to be you call them before sending a letter saying how it wasn't him.

I first read the book then watched the movie they did an incredible job on it but they could've definitely included a lot of things I think they should make this movie again and include more things like how it was believed that the killer knew one of his victims which was Darlene Ferrin and she had been afraid of him he had been stalking her buying her gifts and calling her house and Darlene's friends even saw him at a house painting party at Darlene's house so that could have been exiting to add to show the killer more in the movie and know more about the victims and tell about their lives a little bit more and how the father of Darlene after she was killed and time had past her dad had begun to receive prank phone calls from the zodiac so that could have been shown to add even more suspense to the movie
Agreed. And thought this was mentioned in the movie, it wasn't as shown as the plot itself. This might be another rendition to this whole thing but might have to be based on a lot of assumptions, speculations and hearsay... So the authenticity of events will come into question. It still would give a different POV to things I'm sure. Good thought.
I believe this caller is the reason why David Berkowitz called himself Son of Sam who also taunted the police with notes with deliberate misspellings, never mind all that oh my neighbour's dog told me to do it rubbish, you only have to read Davids letters to realize he wasn't talking about a bloody dog, he said all that garbage afterwards to make out he was totally bonkers to avoid doing hard time in a proper state prison and have a easier time in a mental ward.

The fact is, no one knows if it was really him or not, he may have changed the tone of his voice in an attempt to guise. No one knows for sure who the killer was, people assume he is dead because the killings stopped, may very well be true, or may hve progressed further into a lost state of mind. Why is it so difficult for people to admit that they do not know something. Biggest human flaw in existence in my opinion.

His best friend tagged him as Zodiac on facebook, and even went on a Poll website saying his friend was the Zodiac after he died. When was it confirmed it wasn't him?
